Hi everyone,

After encryption (which was kinda long so fell asleep in the process) a screen came up with the msg : Type password to decrypt storage. The thing is i know the password after all i willingly encrypted the device but when i tap on where i'm suposed to input the password the keyborad doesn't show. I restarted it still the same problem. I tried to to hard rest it but the decrypt screen still came. I Then took it to a carlcare center and after 4 days, they are telling me to buy a board. Pls help cos i dnt noe how to fix this minor but very important issue.

Phone locked!!

My friends phone got locked after his younger brother entered several unsuccessful pattern attemps. The phone asks for the google user pass but after entering says wrong user/pass.. He is on ICS (Omega ROM). The wifi was off, so is there any way the wifi can be turned on? The screen doesnt let the user do anything (cant pull the notification menu etc)
I flashed the ROM again but still same message..
I know I can wipe all data and it'll be fixed, but the friend doesnt want to lose his data (lots of pics/videos) etc. So someone help please
the phone is rooted btw
Wipe & tell your friend he's learned a very valuable lesson about making regular backups (given they take all of 5 minutes & require maybe half a dozen button presses).

data on Internal SD doesn't get deleted with factory wipe. Only sms will be lost. Contacts are backed up in google accounts.
Thanks. Wiped and installed the Rom again had the backup of sms and contacts. He is happy none of his files got deleted

WRONG. The phone doesn't just lock itself for 30 minutes -it's gonna stay locked forever unless you enter your Google account's password. It happened to a friend of mine (I was the one who locked it) and because he didn't remember his password his phone remained locked for 3 weeks until he finally remembered the password. During that time he could only receive and answer calls but nothing else.

[Q] Galaxy note 2 encryption problem

I did the device encryption for my rooted Galaxy note 2 N7100. Before encrypting it asked to set a password. I had set it. Later I successfully encrypted the device and started using it without any problem. But this morning I woke up to see my device restarted some time ago in the night and waiting for me to enter the password to decrypt the device. As usually I entered the correct password but, it didn't accept the password. I am sure I am entering the correct password. But still it dint accept. All the chances to enter the correct pwd are over and now whenever I try to enter the password (i am still sure that I am entering correct password) but, it is restarting automatically. I don't mind loosing the data as I have a back up. Somebody please help me. I want to reinstall the OS. I tried connecting to my laptop via usb but nothing is showing up.

Galaxy Note 3 - Restarts when trying to Encrypt

Hi,
I did a bunch of search strings on here and Google to try and find a solution to my problem to no avail. I really hope you guys can help.
My device: Galaxy Note 3 - N900W8 - Rooted and Unlocked (RegionLock Away 1.3)
My Problem:
I'm trying to connect the device to my works account via Exchange ActiveSync. My company forces encryption on the device as part of the setup processes. When I try to Encrypt the device (Fast Encrypt or not) it shows the Encryption Android dude (Green) as if it's going to start and then the phone just turns off and reboots.
Any ideas what the issue could be? Is it possible that because the phone is rooted, the security settings that my works places on it doesn't like it?
Thanks.
H
Hi, I was experiencing the same thing, I was playing with the encryption and now my lock screen pattern and pin is not an option anymore and I have to use the encryption password, when my device is not even encrypted! I cannot decrypt because every time I go into the Encrypt device option, It goes back to rebooting just like you mention. Anybody can help?
Thanks,
T2

Encrypted device not encrypted?

Hi all
When I first got my S6 I encrypted it and all was good. When I restarted it it would always ask for the password but a couple of days ago I noticed it restarted for some unknown reason. When it booted back up it didn't ask for the password. Strange I thought but maybe because it restarted itself that was normal. So I powered it off myself and again it started up but didn't ask for the password again. All my data was still accessible too!
I found this thread on reddit describing the same problem:
https://m.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/378e4c/encrypted_s6_does_not_prompt_for_password_upon/
Followed the suggestion and it worked!
So is the encryption not really encrypting? And had anyone else had this issue?
Thanks

I am facing the exact same issue here.
I had the device encrypted and it was asking me for the password at every reboot.
Suddenly, it stopped asking for the password, even when I power off and an again.
In the security settings it still shows the device as encrypted and it offers me to decrypt the device.
I did not investigate this in detail yet, but I have lost all confidence in Samsung's encryption.
If the device can suddenly boot without prompting for a password, that means the device cannot have been properly encrypted before.

Ulefone Vienna ui has stoped and I forogt password

I've already done factory reset and although I forget first google account I still remember second one, unfortunately after login in android asked for new account and after I created it I forget this password as well. Unfortunately ui has stopped again and I did second factory reset - this time the only one account I still got password won't pass me through configuration phase. System recognizes me ( I see my avatar) but doesn't pass me through with this account. Recently Ulefone changed androidROM to 6 and I haven't done this yet and although new system seems to be corrupted and with lots of malware ( even ulefone on their facebook page admitted it) I wonder if flashing rom could help. I have do this from my pc since I can't have acces to my phone and - this is the best part - my windows can't see Vienna at all only Linux recognizes it. Is there any help?
