Hi guys i need some help.
I have a wiko ridge and sometimes the screen become completely black. The phone still works in background but the only way to restore it's a reset from recovery. After a bit of investigation here's the issue:
with the last update, the minimum brightness is 0 (o near to 0) and the screen is completely black and unusable. This happens sometims because when battery reach critical levels the auto battery saving kicks in, reducing screen brightness to min. I discover this by manually activating battery saving e playing with brightness slider.
I don't want to install xposed or something else, so i just rooted and go search for the build.prop for the min brightness setting and suprise, there isn't one. So i added the string and even after a restart nothing changes...how can i add and make the string works? Is it even possibile to do so?

I'm new to the TB but I've been on Android since the original droid release. On my moto devices all i had to do was set the screen to stay awake when charging. I have set that on my TB but after a few seconds the screen dramatically dims, technically it stays awake yes, but is there a way to prevent it from dimming when it's charging or docked? Thanks in advance for your help.
It would really depend on what Mod you are running. If you are running stock there should be a setting in display for screen dimming. If you are running a custom rom each has it's own settings for different things. Cyanogen has it turned off by default but you can turn it on via the settings to allow the screen to dim.
i tried the star hash 0 star hash on dial pad, to bring up the test centre. I clicked on every box including dimmer and sleepmode to test it.
Now since then, every time i lock and unlock my phone, the brightness reverts back to some minumum setting. I can still change brightness when i long press the notification bar but it will always change back to the low setting. And i also cannot get into settings/display/brightness...its greyed out.
I have tried turning my phone on and off again
Help what did i do wrong
If your battery level is below 15% i think, the phone will disable the brightness control in the settings, greyed out, and will run at lowest brightness, until you charge the phone.
You can use the power control widget to adjust the brightness, but as soon as the phone goes to standby and you wake it up it will be back to minimum brightness again.
ok thanks, coincidence in timing when doing the lcd test and low battery..got me in a panic because I didn't have power saving mode enabled.
Yeah, it got me worried when it happened to me, as i was not using power saving as well, it`s a bit of a cheek to force low brightness when the battery is below 15% , the camera also does not work as well, great.
Hi Everyone,
So I noticed not to long back that my phone has been changing brightness without the brightness bar moving. For instance I unlocked my phone moments ago and my screen was very bright. I went into my brightness settings and looked at the bar was set at 60%. As soon as I touch the brightness bar the screen dims back down to where it's supposed to be.
Now I am thinking this is purely a software issue but I am still a little worried. I have a Galaxy S3 Optus AU. It is running the LF2 firmware and is not rooted or modified. I have turned off auto brightness and power saving for the screen and this problem still persists.
Has anyone else suffered any such issues with there device?

sry my fault...read to quick
hmm the only thinng i can imagine on the go is...has been your battery been on a very low amount of percentage
because i think the power saving mode is changing the brightnes on its own
No the battery was at 90% when it happened last. I have factory reset the device to see if it fixes the issue.
OK the issue is still happening. Altho I have now noticed that it happens when unlocking the phone. If I re lock the phone and then unlock it. It's back to normal.
Well...even stock firmware is not protected to crash or do sth it shouldnt do by the way
so think about a clean install of the rom or a software update this might fix your problem
Hello,
I know this has been discussed often but I searched for hours and didn't find a final solution for my problem.
First of all, I'm on a custom rom (Phoenix Ultimate V2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/rom-jb-4-1-2phoenix-rise-ashes-t2842899) with a custom kernel (Nemesis 6.2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...nel-nemesis-kernel-v6-3-revised-21-2-t2214141) but my problem does occur in every JellyBean rom and custom kernel, even in stock rom/kernel combination)
Is there any way to increase (yes, I want them brighter!) the brightness of the leds in the transparent bar at the bottom of the phone?
Changing values in sys/class/leds/.. to 255 does only help for a few seconds because they just get overwritten by the autobrightness or if the screen gets turned off.
The main reason is that my leds are very dim, almost not visible at night. A friend of mine got the same phone, same rom and kernel combination but he does not have the low brightness problem (I guess there are different hardware versions, I have a red one and he's got the black one)
The leds are bright when the kernel is booting and in recovery mode, but they get dimmed when the system booted up and IlluminationFix.apk (in custom roms) starts.
Any suggestions?
It really annoys me that I can't fix that.
Good Day Everyone,
I have early stage Age-related macular degeneration. Right now, it is in the early stage, but I'm running into an issue with my OnePlus Nord N10 5G.
The center field of my eyesight is getting darker. For example of your phone is at the maximum brightness level, it would appears around something like 60% brightness to me.
So see a beautiful photo of an evening skyline, but I see a post sunset view. It's still there, I just see it darker.
Anyway, I really need to make my screen brighter then the factory set maximum level. Yes, I know that will effect my battery life l, but I simply need it.
The Google Store does have some Apps that "claim" that to do that, but the reviews always are always very mixed. Alot of the reviewers saying they don't work and they believe the app developers just want access to their phone data.
I have already gone to the "accessibility" section of "Settings". "High Contrast" and "Color Correction" have helped some, but not enough.
So after all that, my question is, dose anyone know of an app for the OnePlus Nord N10 5G that can legitimately increase the maximum screen brightness? In the alternative dose anyone know how trick the Android 11 (Red Velvet Cake) into increasing what the maximum brightness level is set at?

Hey @ARTEST4ECHO,
You maybe encountering the screen brightness/dimming problem that the OnePlus Nord N10 5G has. If you have noticed that occasionally the screen seems dimmer than usual, but the brightness control is turned all the way up then this might be the problem.
Unfortunately this is a super common issue with this phone. I'm very surprised no one else has replied yet. The Forum on Oneplus's website there is multiple threads about this issue with hundreds of people complaining. Unfortunately it seems that OnePlus either refuses or is unable to fix the issue!
There is one "workaround" that I have found that seems to work. At first it seemed to work every time but lately it's hit or miss. Which is very strange though because I never update my device, so I'm not sure why it used to work all the time and now it doesn't.
Here is that solution that someone posted on the OnePlus website forum. (Again it used to work every time until lately so your mileage may vary. Unfortunately this seems to be the only option that helps/resolves the issue temporarily, besides rebooting the phone. Oh in case you did not know if you turn the phone off and back on the issue goes away until it happens again... )
Temporary Fix How To:
How to temporarily readjust screen brightness when dimming issue occurs:
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to bring up the notification bar and turn on automatic ambient lighting (the small sun icon with the letter "A" next to the brightness slider)
2. After turning on automatic ambient lighting, manually slide the brightness control up. (increase the brightness - it will still be low brightness even after doing that)
3. Then finally power down the phone screen and power it back up. (just short press the power button to power off the screen, then press it again to turn the screen back on)
4. The screen brightness should be back to normal. Then be sure to "disable" ambient brightness as mentioned in the first step.
Hopefully this solution will work for you. Unfortunately if it doesn't there's no other method that I'm aware of to resolve the issue. I've had the phone for now going on 2 years and have been searching for a solution to this problem ever since.
