Hi,
So my S3 stopped working a few weeks ago while I was on holiday. It fell from my hand and turned off on its own. After that I turned it back on and it was working fine for a couple of minutes, then the problem started happening.
Every time I opened an app that used the camera, the phone would reboot. After a couple of reboots, it would get stuck repeating the Samsung logo (haven't been able to boot it since then). When I plug the charger in, it passes the Samsung logo and then stays on the Cyanogen mod logo. I've left it on for hours on the CM logo without any luck. I can't boot into recovery mode because the vol. up button doesn't work, and I can't get adb to find the device on my pc (though it does charge when plugged into the pc).
All I'm wondering is if there's a way I can save my media files from the phone myself, or if I need to take it to a service centre.
Tl;dr - phone loops samsung logo when on battery, gets stuck on cm logo when charging, vol. up broken so can't get into recovery mode, adb won't find the device so no recovery mode like that either, want to save media files.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

My phone restarted one day and just wouldn't boot up. At first it was just stuck on the SAMSUNG logo, but after trying to boot into recovery, it now sits at the boot animation. When I try to boot into recovery, the CWM screen will come up, but no menu will show up, and then the phone will restart after a few minutes and go back to being stuck on the boot animation.
I can enter Download Mode, but USB Debugging must be disabled since ADB won't recognize the device and I can't send any commands (yes, drivers are installed).
First of all, is there any way I can recover the data on the phone? That is more important than getting the phone working, since I was just about ready to get a new phone anyway.
What can I do to get the phone working? Everything involving flashing a new kernel, or resetting the phone back to factory seem to require a working recovery or the ability to send commands through ADB, but I'm probably missing something, since there must something else that I can do.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
**Not sure if this is related or not, but the reason why the phone restarted before this issue occurred is because the power button on the phone is a bit faulty. Over the past couple months I've been having issues with the power button; it seems overly sensitive so when I push it sometimes the screen will turn on and off and other times the phone will just restart as if I held the button down for too long. This is the main reason why I was ready to get a new phone.
Started two days ago. Phone would randomly power off and boot back up. Finally it shut off and would not power back on. I had Cm11 installed with CWM 4.0.4.6. The phone powers on after inserting the battery. The Samsung logo flashes and then it shows the "Galaxy S3" logo with the CM logo below it. The phone the powers off. I have done a factory reset, cleared both caches, formatted the system folder, flashed SlimKat from recovery and tried another known good battery. At this point I figured I would reflash CWM but if I put the phone into download mode, it powers off after just a few seconds as well.
If I boot the phone into CWM, the phone stays on as long as I want it to so it makes me think this might be fixable. Just need some help.
Ask in your device forums.
My apologies. Didnt realize there was another S3 board. Found and posted there.
Hello everyone,
Even though this is my very first post here, I've been occupied with rooting android phones and flashing new ROMs quite often. I encountered what seems to be an unsolvable problem.
I'm using an S3 I9300 with ArchiDroid v3.1.5 flashed. I had to remove the power button several months ago due to malfunctioning. A couple days ago, my phone suddenly went into a boot loop after the battery was drained and phone was shut down. I charged the phone and turned it on but it never boots. Samsung logo comes and archidroid boot animation starts but the phone gets stuck there. I actually know many ways to get out of a boot loop using download mode, recovery mode, adb, fastboot etc. However, it seems like there's no way to get my phone out of this loop since it does not have a power button. I've tried every single method to go into recovery or download mode without a power button but it does not work. Since the phone does not boot, I can't use any apps to go into download or recovery mode. I tried using adb while the phone is stuck at boot animation but it is a no go due to authorization. It looks like there is no way to get this phone into either download or recovery mode where I can save it easily.
I've been searching everywhere for the last two days for a solution and any method I found, I tried immediately but nothing works. I tried all common and even uncommon methods to put the phone into download mode without a power button. Also couldn't find a way to get around the authorization problem to use adb.
My phone is now out of order and I need a solution urgently. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
To get right to the point, my phone doesn't switch on, and I cannot get into recovery/download mode.
The story:
After my apps kept on crashing for no reason, I restarted the phone. After the restart, when it asked my pin, the google app kept on crashing and the phone completely froze up.
Here is where I suspect I made a HUGE mistake. I Took out the battery and started up the phone again. It immediately told me that the system is corrupt and "cannot be trusted".
I continue the boot process, only to land in a boot loop. I take out the battery once again and restart the phone.
After displaying the LG logo, it just turned off. And that was the last time I could get it on.
I tried booting into recovery, but the phone won't even switch on to begin with.
Absolutely no response. Screen stays pitch black.
I tried doing it with the USB cable in, same result. Nothing.
I also read up on the different combinations to get into download mode to no avail.
Stock ROM and firmware installed, no mods whatsoever.
Android 8.0
Can anyone please suggest anything I can do to save my device?
So I have a OnePlus X with AOSP 9.0 installed. I tried to root it using SuperSu and when I tried to reboot it after the process was done, my phone got stuck in a boot loop. The OP logo would come on the screen for a second, the phone would vibrate and then automatically go away repeatedly. I was unable to access the recovery and was only able to get the phone into fastboot mode which told me that phone has a locked bootloader.
I feel like I might have accidently corrupted the partition that has the phone's BIOS or something
Eventually my phone ran out of battery and now I can't even charge it to be able to get into fasboot mode again. I have tried leaving the phone plugged in for two days but it isn't charging. It keeps going through this cycle of charging for a second and then not charging and wasting power for 3 seconds and leads to no gain in charge.
I also have a video of the charging boot loop if someone needs to see it.
PLEASE HELP ME :crying::crying::crying:
