Hallo
So we up north are many times over seen and handled by many OEMs as a subsidiary of the US. There are pro's and con's to this scenario. With ZTE Canada regarding the Axon 7, I have gathered the following:
1. As of mid-August 2016, only Newegg Canada is the sole legal distributor of the Axon 7.
Comment: Not too bad but it would have been nice to get Amazon.ca and BestBuy.ca included. Amazon.ca has really good return policy.
2. We're stuck with the Passport 1.0 warranty package as opposed to the Passport 2.0 package that is setup for the US. Currently this is what is listed for this Passport 1.0 warranty:
30-day risk-free trial
Full two-year product warranty
Free Premium Protection to cover repairs out of warranty
Free advanced exchanges of devices
Free two-way shipping
Support for new Android updates when made available
Comment: Not sure how good or bad this is in real life. I hope others who have bought the Axon Pro in Canada can share their experiences.
3. General after sale support? I don't even know if ZTE Canada have local support or if we get passed to US support. If for example, I want to invoke the Passport warranty, do I deal with a local person or US?
4. Delivery of device? I ordered my Gray on July 27th, just got a shipping email from Newegg.ca literally 3 mins ago declaring that the device is shipping out of NJ, but do delivery time not showing up as yet.
Hopefully we can share our experiences especially with regards to after sale support.
Have any of the Canadians seen if you're getting the US model or the G (international) model?

Hi
From what others have said:
1. Canada is getting the US model.
2. All deliveries are sourced from the US, even with US packaging, hence there was some initial confusion as to what warranty we'll be getting (Passport v2 - that was in the received box vs Passport v1 that we Canadian are really 'entitled' to).
Hi
So I noticed that many of us are posting and updating a our experiences on other boards, I prefer XDA as its where we'll be getting the best community support going forward for us geeky types.
As a heads up:
1. There is an active thread at ZTE USA forums.
2. Redflags forum have some us posting there.
3. I heard of a sub-Reddit thread but was until to locate it.
So far my Purolator delivery is stuck on shipping label created status since last afternoon with no recent updates. Others have said that they have seen their Purolator status updated showing customs clearance.
I read that someone had received a package from Newegg.ca (out of NJ) that took 6 days to be delivered in Toronto! Unbelievable that we have a courier service that can't provide decently prompt services.

Don't track your package through the Purolator site. Try tracking it with the link in the tracking email Newegg sent you. When I track my package through the Purolator site I get absolutely nothing. With the link in the email, I get details as to where my package is. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow in Toronto. Not sure if this will be the same for you
Received mine around 3pm today. Can confirm it is the US model. Happy to answer any other questions you might have
Mine showed "shipping label created" for a day as well - rest assured, it's likely in transit and you'll see a more accurate update once it crosses the border.
Mine now shows it's arrived at the Toronto sort facility and should be delivered later today (Aug. 18).

Would you recommend it now or I should wait ?
Hi guys, thinking of upgrading from my lg g3 for the axon 7 here in Canada due to the sensors drift in vr apps and the good old overheat problem when doing cpu intensive tasks. Should I wait before buying it to see or you would recommend it even in the current software state ?
I'm in Calgary and have had my Axon 7 for a week or so now.
So far I'm happy, there are a couple of things that are weird (that damn notification bell is a pain) . Lack of themes ( I like to change the look of my device a lot).
The camera is better than what I expected, the audio (both front facing speakers and using headphones) is killer good (I got the Monster N-pulse free with my pre-order and they are by far the best headphones I've used ).
The build is top notch, feels great in the hand and solid.
Battery is great (on Wind Mobile) I get around 5ish hours.
The screen is great, works and looks great with a vr headset (I had a cheap one form eBay but Walmart started selling ones with a Bluetooth remote for $30 and its quite good)
Overall I'd give it a sold 8/10
Price is great for a factory unlocked phone without contract.
And just for reference, this is my 12th phone this year lol. Some include Nexus 6p, iPhone 6s, Samsung S7, OnePlus2, LG G4 and others .
Give it a couple months for customs Roms and this could be a real true "Flagship Killer"

How do you compare it with the Nexus 6p? In other words, do you think it's worth getting rid of my 6p for the axon 7? I'm really liking the sound of the audio quality of the axon but LOVE the pure stock and camera of my 6p.

A question like this is always subjective to the person and their preferences.
Now to me, I loved stock Android (still do)
But the 6p was too tall, too slippery and the build was pure garbage. After having the 6p for a week, I noticed a small bend, nothing too wild , but still a bend. Now I didn't have a case on it, but I never abused it, just kept it in my jeans pocket (no skinny jeans here lol).
I like the way the Axon feels in the hand better. As for sound, the Axon wins because of the Dolby Atmos, it just sounds better.
Now this can be fixed on the Nexus with Viper4Android, so it's moot lol.
If you can, hold onto the 6p, order an Axon and try it out for yourself. If you feel that the Axon is the way to go, sell the 6p. If you're not happy with the Axon, send it back for a refund (I think newegg.ca doesn't have a re-stocking fee)

Yeah you're right, my question is pretty subjective. Your answer helped a lot though, thanks. I already ordered and received the Axon. My issue is that I'm not positive if Newegg will honor giving me the refund if returned within the 30 days. Their standard policy which is what the phone is under conflicts with the 30 day return period. I'll have to give them a call. Thanks again

No prob.
As for Newegg.ca you could always claim the phone as defective and since they have no phones to exchange with....
Hola
I received my grey version 2 days ago... already rooted and loving the device. Coming from the S7 Edge, the transition was a little strange because I had got accustomed to holding the Edge differently because of the edge screen (given that I use a case).
So far no major issues other than the smaller software quirks that so many have listed. I use the provided TPU case until I can find a replacement case on Amazon.ca or ebay.ca. Nothing I saw fits what I like... like the typical Spigen Neo Hybrid series. Just wished it had wireless charging, so I am ordering a Uniqi receiver (which comes with USB type C dongle).
Made a number of calls in the Mississauga area, no issues with voice calls. No issues with LTE connectivity or Wi-Fi.

I can't speak for Rogers, I am using Koodo (they use Telus and Bell cellular network in Ontario) and so far all is well with me in West Mississauga. Open a thread in the Help forum here on XDA or the ZTE official USA forums to get device specific support from their USA moderation team.
Try invoking a network settings reset on the device and see if that helps at all.

Got mine as well - still tinkering and setting up but happy with it so far (other than a few quirks and some of stock apps).
Anyone also seeing the back up account setting greyed out in the backup & restore settings?
Also, off-topic, but to those who received the headphones from NewEgg, can you confirm the audio cable is removable? The coiled cable on mine seems like it's firmly fixed...

If you're talking about the Monster headphones, the audio cord is removable as it comes un-attached in the box .

Unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with network compatibility. The A7 has all the bands used by Canadian carriers enabled by default.
Interesting...my headphones came with a (somewhat long) coiled cable already attached that don't seem to be removable - there's a separate cable in the box with the microphone and controls...I've included a picture taken with my Axon 7..

I mainly want to use it at the gym and running while NOT having my giant phone in my pocket.
My cellphone is on Sprint, can I use the Gear S from different carriers to have my phone forward calls/messages to my watch while my phone is at home?
Thanks. I'm looking at buying used from Craigslist and I never see a Gear S for Sprint.
If you had asked a few months ago, I would have said yes. Now, I'd say wait for the Orbis to be announced, which should be soon. If that one does everything the Gear S does but better, you may want it instead.
If you do want to go ahead and get a Gear S, your cheapest way to get a new one is to buy it up front from ATT, have it unlocked by ATT*, and get the wearables plan from T-mo if you want it to have data (which sounds like what you are interested in). I think it's $10/month for non-Tmo customers, which gives you unlimited calls and texts and unlimited data but only 500MB of it "high" speed (3g or 4g, depending on where you live). And yes, the watch can be on another network than your phone and call forwarding and everything else still works, as long as your phone is on the list of compatible Galaxy devices.
Warning
There is an issue with the charging cradle: it breaks by design sooner or later, so you may want to buy a knock-off from ebay or explore the lovely solutions described here, like socks, pill bottles, etc.
It's a great watch, no, it's still the best watch out there, one of the few with GPS and data, and I bought it for trail running without my phone. I use it daily and love it, but know that it is now a half a year old and updates are rare. The App store offerings are as meager as in the beginning; there is, for instance, only one music streaming app, Milk music, but with the T-mo wearables plan, Milk does not count against your data (search #musicfreedom).
Good luck
* To unlock a new ATT device without waiting 90 days, you need to be able to give them a phone number that is or has once been on ATT (prepaid does not count). If you have never been an ATT customer, see if you can find a friend who is/has been, and ask them to submit the unlock ticket for you. You save $50 just by buying it from ATT, plus, if ATT ever offers a better plan, you can just swap sim cards. T-mo won't unlock the Gear S if you buy it from them, at least they refused to unlock mine, so I went the above described route.
So this reply turned into a novel. Oooops.
My 2c anyway
The most unique thing about the Gear S is its ability to act as a stand-alone device. But the real benefit is having your calls, notifications, texts, and e-mails forwarded to it from your phone when the phone's out of range. The part that's amazing is how well it all works. Within 90 seconds of my Gear being out of BT range from my phone calls are forwarded, 3G and/or Wi-Fi on the Gear activates, and notifications and such don't miss a beat. Same thing in reverse when the Gear and phone are back in BT range. It's like having your phone with you but not having to lug it around. The real joy is not having to worry about, it all just works (at least for me on AT&T). Add a Gear Circle which is probably the most unobtrusive BT headset and you can do anything with the Gear you can do on your phone communication wise.
The Gear even pairs with the hands-free system in my car with 100% of the available features working with the exception of address book transfer and AVRCP not working in Milk (it works with the Gear's audio player).

Here's a big caveat. For all this to work you need a late-model Samsung phone and ideally you use Samsung's apps (e-mail, messaging, etc.). There are stand-alone apps on the Gear for both e-mail and messaging that allow you to compose and respond the same way you can with your phone including using contacts in the Samsung Address Book. If you use third party apps all you can do in most functions like e-mail and messaging is respond to something you've received. As for the carrier of the Gear and phone needing to be the same that's a good question. For a generic (vs. U.S. carrier-specific) Gear logic dictates whatever the phone picks up from the Gear (EG: Gear's discrete number for call forwarding) it shouldn't matter. Each U.S. carrier has their own Gear version running its own non-standard s/w. So who knows what each carrier did to their individual Gear's in terms of interoperability.
For people with non-Samsung phones or using the Gear without carrier access its unique benefits are neutered. In that case it's just another Samsung Tizen wearable with the biggest stand-out feature being its 2" AMOLED display.
Thanks for the responses. Dumb question, but is it possible to forward calls and text without having a monthly plan for the watch?
No you must have a cellular connection for that to happen. Verizon only charges $5 a month

I just called for a warranty on the phone and tmobile doesn't warranty the charger piece. So if the charging clip breaks you have to mail the watch and all to samsung for it to get warranty and it's 2 weeks. JUMP doesn't cover the battery pack

Or, for $30, you could have a working charger by Friday if you're an Amazon Prime member. Should you have to pay out of pocket? No. Is the time you'll spend packing up your watch and Gear to ship them back and being without them for two week worth saving $30? Only you can answer that.
AT&T, at least the local store I bought my Gear at, has said they'll replace the cradle if it breaks during the one-year warranty. If I want to exchange the watch with it they said that would be up to me. I have status in the Samsung support program and when I heard reports of cradles breaking asked them what my options (outside AT&T) would be if it happened to me. They said they'd overnight me a new cradle without needing to ship the broken one back. Obviously this hasn't been tested (yet) but there have been stories reported on the forum of instant cradle exchanges directly from Samsung as well as people Samsung's told to go pound sand. So individual experiences are obviously a big YMMV.
Just bought the att model on groupon for 181.00 with coupon. I hope it was worth as i ve been using a motoactv that i rooted with custom rom. Wish audible would work with it. I guess i have 14 days to return it if i dont like it. Also carries 90 warranty.
I use it every every time for cardio and weight lifting, if you want the watch by itself you can only play music installed inside the watch and listen via Bluetooth headphones. You can try YouTube music videos but is laggy.
Now, if you bring your cellphone , you can fwd and pause streaming music from the watch, also you can start , pause and stop endomondo , use your watch heart rate sensor to log it inside your endomondo phone app. If you also have the gear circle, you can set it to read all your texts and Internet messaging apps ,so you don't have to look at your screen. When I run at night I leave my watch with the screen always ON and I change the clock to a white bright clock so I can be seen from far away.
Update: the watch has wifi so you can try connecting it first to your gyms wifi and try streaming and see if is not laggy.

I'm on Sprint so the monthly would be $10 I believe. I don't think I want to go that route.
I currently have the moto 360 and with the new update you can add music to it via Google Music, but it sucks. You can't pick and choose exact songs, have playlist, and the shuffle button only shuffles songs within an album. Needless to say this hasn't been a solution.
I'm a little hesitant to get this watch since I've had the Gear 2 before and it would constantly reboot, quit, freeze etc.
Thoughts?
It's $200 here, if you haven't purchased one

I guess waiting will be wise choice. Use 360 for now and enjoy Orbis from November. This watch gonna sell like hot cakes. Only thing that can stop this watch from getting popular will be lack of compatibility. People don't look for workaround and just skips it and goes something else.
I was in at&t store yesterday, it was $100 on contract, I got tempted but remembered 2 things
1. Problem with charger on this one.
2. Orbis gonna be super awesome as Samsung is planning to use in house exynos SOC, so they might go for one in 14nm which will make watch more efficient.

Yeah I heard the battery life is going to be awesome too. Only thing is it may be $350-$400.
I really think Sammy should make an Android wear version and a Tizen version.

Yes battery life would be good if they go for 14 nm SOC with dual A53 cores. It will be costly but I guess it will be worth it.

That would be great, but android wear doesn't support sim card and google won't let them modify original OS (I guess they want to avoid fragmentation here). But Tizen is good OS too.

Yes.
The damn phone is on backorder every where in the US at least. Looked online at amazon and eBay's uk sites and they don't even have any period. Not sure if the phone has even hit Europe yet. I've been holding out for the 6GB model but I am tired of my GS6 Edge and it's broken screen and my backup phone is like a 2013 Moto x and yeah it sucks.
I'm pretty sure, I don't think om understand how much people will buy their stuff if they quit messing around and actually make an excellent product.
Heard from ZTE stock is ready, should be back on sale very very soon!
They have been in business since 1985. I am pretty sure this was a marketing ploy used to generate interest and demand for their product. It is human nature to want what we cannot have. Just be patient.

Well it was first released in the Chinese market. From what I can tell, due to carriers and a bunch of restrictions with selling stuff in the US, some companies are very cautious. First Axon needed to test the waters with a lower scale launch.
Also don't hate on the OG Moto X. It's seriously one of the best devices ever, up there with the Nexuses.
I'm glad I pre-ordered for the first run. This is one of the best phone values I've had in a long time, comparable to the Oneplus One when it released. Keep the prices low and specs high, engage the xda community, keep the warranty, and I will continue to be a customer.
I think it should be getting MORE attention. It is time the big name brands take a hit in their pricing and provide affordable flagships, however they need to do s, otherwise I will continue to buy the high value chinese brands.

I agree, for $400 (especially + giftcard and headphones) its a great deal. The two major cons of the device are the reception, and camera. Minor quirks with software can be fixed, and the capacitive button locations can be gotten used to. As a device I'd give it a 7.5/10, as a device that costs $400, 8.8/10. I am still surprised that it has an s6's amoled, audio that is easily top 3, etc. To me, the only thing that is making me question this phone is the reception, other than that I am completely happy with it even with the other issues.
Galaxy Note 7 on back order also so cut ZTE some slack. I can name several flagship phones that sold out or back ordered in the first month or 2 and no one lost their mindss like people are doing with ZTE.
ZTE just told me that the phone came to the USA market officially before the EU market so the USA version may seem better than EU.
The Official EU release is coming very soon though this month it looks like.
They promise that they provide good service to all users around the world and not just the USA

Dude, "good service" for me includes unlockable bootloader for everybody, not just americans. Ordering a oneplus 3 next week, once the graphite color is available. Gold is ugly as hell. Don't only women buy gold phones? I only have seen women and gay dudes with gold phones
I received my ZTE Axon 7 Gold Colour today in Frankfurt, Germany.
I ordered on the 31st of August and picked it up at Media Market this afternoon (02.09.)
It was sold out in a day once it appeared on the German price comparison website idealo.
I am loving the sleek build of the phone so far and its speed but funny enough, the listening sound appears to be too low even on high volume and I cannot find any theme store anywhere as the stock UI is ugly as hell.
I will keep going through it to see its strength and weaknesses.

What are the versions available in the EU or UK market?
I'm planning to buy a Chinese version, 4GB+128GB for about 2900RMB, 330 GBP, during my China trip later this month. But I'm slightly concerned that I wont be receiving OTA updates for EU markets afterwards.

OTA updates aren't based on where you currently are located. They're based on the region of the device. A Chinese A7 will only be getting the Chinese OTAs.

I think this may be like the OnePlus One in that it's an exceptional package for the price. The Axon 8 or whatever going forward will likely have less bang for buck as with OnePlus Two/X because of demand.
I'm hoping that for once being an early adopter (albeit waiting 6 weeks) will pay off with a phone that I will get a good two-three years out of.

my local best buy has the grey version in stock today, less than 3. im really contemplating exchanging my nexus 6p for it. its a tough decision because i love android 7.0 but the battery life and lcd is subpar on the 6p. your getting more bang for buck with the axon. the only concern i have is getting ota updates and any rom development.

If you go to the local ZTE USA website, you can order the phone. According to their website and this device will ship prior to 9/9. That is but a few days, but since they already know when it will shipband this has been on their site for several weeks, this was probably a marketing ploy more than likely. The hope to be to increase demand by reducing supply. I am quite sure, this company of professionals, that has been in business since 1985, did not make a rookie mistake like this.

I suspect that Best Buy is getting first dibs on the latest batch, possibly to make up for not receiving any units from the August batch (they all went to ZTE/Newegg/B&H and some to Amazon).

I was just in Germany last week and it wasnt in stock at all
Untill I ordered it on media markt and it arrived on the day after
Sent from my ZTE Axon 7
Picked up my Grey from BestBuy yesterday from pre-order. The retail launch ones are supposed to go on sale later this week.
I managed to get the grey one today at a Best Buy 45 miles from me, they only had one and no idea when or if the store will get more stock.
It's mighty nice though, I bought to replace my Note 7, seems much faster
Hey folks
Just unboxed my G6 and waiting with sweaty palms for the first charge to finish... .
Like most EU users I was annoyed at No ESS Dac or Wireless charging.. but I wonder.. how much of this is directly LGs fault.. and I wonder how much of it is EU / red tape interference..
It just doesnt seem logical that a company would manufacture 2 versions of their flagship and turn out a half baked phone..
We never got the V10 or the V20 .. so I wonder, how much of, selling a half finished device for the same £680 (in Asia it works out £650), is interference by the Financial Euro-prats in Brussels.. after all, Samsung havent removed their Wolfsonn DAC or Wireless charging from the S8, could it be the patents ?.. IMO, No..
Are we as consumers being too hard on LG as a company when the blame may lie with the faceless Beaurocrats?
What do you guys think
We should be hard on LG. It's their branded phones.
For clarity the reason for the disparity across the world is due to the networks depicting what they believe their customers will buy and at what price. For example if LG said it could provide a quad dac for an extra £5 per phone the network buyers may not believe that's necessary to include, thereby maximising profits. The networks are LG customers , not you.
I'm not letting LG off the hook. Pressure needs to be applied from every angle to make the networks and LG realise it is not acceptable to hav such disparity where the feature difference is noticeable.
No, no good trying to blame the EU for this (honestly, this isn't the Daily Mail! ). There's no regulatory impediment to a better DAC or wireless charging, and anyway how would Brussels stop the Americans getting the DAC, or indeed stop the Asians getting wireless charging? And you forgot that Asian models get 64GB storage whereas the rest of the world gets 32GB.
No, LG made the decisions on a financial basis. Whether they took feedback from carriers or did their own market research (which is what they told me when I contacted them about this), in the end it was just a business decision on their part.
I contacted them the day that the phone was announced and told them that their regional specifications policy had cost them my custom. I figured that one person buying it or not is invisible to them, but if enough people told them it was stupid and that they would have sold more without it they might learn for next time.
After starting this thread, then reading your replies.. I did a little digging to check my facts and I was saddend to learn that, yes.. this is LG doing so-called market research on what the "networks" want and sadly, all 3 regions have been scr*wed over.. but to give the EU the version that has NONE of the added features (No 64GB/Wireless, or DAC) or the "V 10 / 20 and probably not the 30" is a really stupid move.. I dont know who does LGs research, but they should be fired.. Yet they give us waterproofing which scr*ws call quality and Audiio..
And they wonder why Samsung do so well..
Whatever the reason or whoever is to blame, LG need to realise they are the back marker/the underdog. They need to come out with a headliner that appeals to mainstream AND more hardcore users.
Confusing matters like this will just keep the momentum with Samsung.
No, it's because LG do "market research" and decide what each region wants and a cost/benefit analysis. That's all. Same as their decision not to release the V20 in EU, simply they thought it wouldn't sell.
Ofc it is "LG's fault".
I'm in the UK and I would like 64GB, wireless charging and a quad DAC. But LG decided not to make them available.
So yeah it's "LG's fault".
Market research my arse.

Then in my opinion they got their analysis compelety wrong.
Ok the S8 is more expensive on contract but imagine the smile on the salesman when he justifies that expense on wireless charging and larger storage. It'll be easy for him.
G6 will just get swept aside which is a shame as I think my G5 is great anf was looking forward to this one.
Maybe they will reanalyse for the G7 ?

I have 4 flagship phones, the S8+. Huawei P10 Plus, LG G6 and iPhone 7 Plus. I will be ditching the S8+. Whilst it has lots of positives, its just not as nice to use as the G6, nor is it camera as useful or as good at in many areas as the G6.

Yea saw that deal on HotUKDeals. Think it turned out to be an error in some stores putting the G6 on show at G5 prices.
Pretty sure its back to £600+ now.
£600+ for the G6 is just a crazy, crazy price. Also, for the amount of time it took to release it they could have had an SD835 in it! Perhaps they'll release a V2 with an 835 but some of LGs decisions with phones are insane. They're shooting themselves completely in the foot.
£564 on Tesco Mobile.
Hoping to have it tomorrow Saturday, Monday at the latest.
As the major UK carriers are only selling the black version so they don't have enough confidence to sell the other colours. Only CPW stock all three. I'm not convinced this decision is one by market research as suggested. My own view is that LG rushed the release in the UK knowing that the S8 was comming out only 2 weeks later. Poor marketing really.
I cannot understand why any flagship wouldn't have wireless charging these days as it's becoming more common. Coming from the last few Samsung phones I owned this was a massive loss. The only conclusion is LG don't see this phone lasting.
On the DAC point I chuckled at others view on the sound quality on the S7 as I also found it poor. I think the sound quality is much better on my G6.
If anyone has an EE firmware version could they post the firmware download link?

CPW has an early exclusive on the colours. They seem to do this quite a bit as well as getting the phones earlier than other online retailers. Frustrating. Personally I have the white which I like a lot.

£564 is what I'll be paying for the phone over 24 months.
Ive been with Tesco Mobile for several years so I just logged in to my account and that was the price that was quoted. And yes it's unlocked, all my phones from Tesco have been network free with no crappy bloatware.
I picked it up in store this afternoon and an hour later I had swapped it for a 1 week old V20, LG folio case (both as new) and £150 cash
My experience with the G6 was very brief but I decided after 5 minutes it wasn't for me. It's a gorgeous phone but the biggest fingerprint magnet I've ever had.
I'm already impressed with the V20 (H990ds Korean model) so I'll be posting my thoughts in the V20 forum.
LG did **** up the UK release of the G6, but not by rushing it, instead by delaying it.
LG had a window of opportunity of just under a month from when they announced the G6 to get it on the shelves, or at least on pre-order, before Samsung announced the S8. They must have known that Samsung would open up pre-order orders immediately, and probably that Samsung would ensure that every phone shop nationwide had S8s on display the day after announcing it; yet LG didn't even announce the UK availability date until a week before Samsung put actual retail S8s in actual customer's hands.
If they'd capitalised on that month lead they had, the G6 would be selling way better, despite the exclusion of its best features.

I just received mine yesterday, August 10, 2010, ordered on August 6, Fedex took 4 days to deliver it on Expedited shipping (2-days). It's a great phone, love it. Feels good in hand, a little slippery, I fitted an araree z flip (2019) case and it fit perfectly. Amazing screen. Still in honeymoon phase. The only problem is I can't find a headset in the box. It's definitely missing. Got on a chat with a Samsung rep but he couldn't help, gave me a link which led me back to the original support page I had started from. Samsung is not known for providing excellent customer service but this is ridiculous. I paid $1400 for the phone and they gipped me.
Has anyone else have this issue?
Resolved: I opened a chat with Samsung Premier Service rep, according to him/her, only the original Z Flip gets the headset in the box. The more expensive and recent Z Flip 5G does NOT come with a headset! WTF??? Very disappointed. I remember seeing a headset in the image online, but I cannot be 100% sure. I think the rep may be mistaken or he's trying to get rid of my call by telling a lie. Samsung's much worse in the customer service department than Apple. They need to upgrade their service if they want to keep loyal customers like me. I won't be buying Samsung phones after this one.
EDIT: I also realized that the 5G version I received didn't come with a case; the original Z Flip box contained a 2-piece clear plastic case as well as an AKG-branded USB-C headset. This really sux. Samsung apparently made the decision to skip both items in North American versions of their new flagship phones.
@strider888
The accessories that come with the phone usually varies, depending on which market you're in.
I know that in the US, we usually get the short end of the stick & this phone is no different. T-Mobile's unboxing video confirms this, identical to your experience.
Yeah, I agree, they should include a set of buds & a case, as they did with the previous model.
I've seen articles mentioning that you can contact Samsung & they'll send you a pair of buds upon request. Not sure exactly what's entailed, probably nothing more than giving your Samsung account information/proof of ownership & a shipping address.
Here's an article from SamMobile on the subject, it's regarding the same on the Note 20, but, I imagine it'd apply to the Z-Flip 5G as well :

when I was on the Samsung website in August 2020, there was NO mention of it (that they won't include earphones or the case), THEY SHOWED A PICTURE OF WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE BOX AND IT CLEARLY SHOWED A PAIR OF AKG EARPHONES AND A CASE.
The fact that YOU CAN NOW see the warning does NOT mean it was there in August 2020 when Samsung was heavily promoting the Flip Z 5G.
@TechOut, what are you trying to say? that I'm an idiot who didn't read the warning? that you are so great that you never miss anything and you never get scammed by big corporation in your whole life? Get the f*ck out. I hate people who add salt to other people's wounds.

I also pre-ordered with AT&T, we have a business account with them. I'm going to make it my DD for a week or so to see if it would be a good fit for where I work. If there were just a few key differences I would feel a little more excited about it. My wish list in no particular order would be 1) Bigger batteries, at least over 5,000mA 2) Minimum 90 Hz refresh rate 3) Thinner bezels all the way around. I'm okay with some bezel just trim them maybe in half?? 4) Wireless charging (I realize I need to give up some thickness for the battery and charging coil, I'm good with it) 5) Stereo speakers, this will a media device to a certain degree.
Preordered through AT&T as well. Anxiously waiting, but I do have some reservations. My main one is the size. I'm coming from the Huawei Mate 20 X. Using a Pixel 4a at the moment to get used to a smaller screen again. None of the specs bother me. I get tired of hearing about the 855 processor. I mean just over 9 months or so ago every reviewer was gushing over how fast it was. Now, it's like a Model T in their eyes. Ridiculous. I'm just worried about the smaller screen size.
People get very hung up on specs, I have been hearing good things about performance but again that's just numbers. The real test will be individual usage and how it performs for each of us. If you have AT&T or Best Buy close by, you may want to see if they got demo units in. They were supposed to go live 08/28. there are YT videos popping up.

Very odd cause most charges fall off in a few days . I work for Apple and we try not to do this so early cause we would get people who get there devices and then cancel the card later.
