Hi
Is it possible to increase the size of g5's battery? If yes how and which size.
2800 mah is low in compiration with other flagships and my need.
Tnx
Maybe there are third party batteries but I definitely wouldn't recommend them. Who knows what a non-LG battery would do to your phone.
But, if you're willing to buy another battery anyway, why not just get a second battery from LG? 5600 mAh total should be plenty?

Unfortunately, Im about 99℅ sure they do not make a larger one. I see what you mean- there is concern that changing batteries damages the GPS pins. I change mine out twice a day, though.
I did read in another thread here on this forum that LG said there is room for a larger battery so hopefully one of the Modules they come out with soon is a larger battery module with wireless charging???

I tried and i failed for few mm, its same as original G5 cell, but when you put board from it you can't close bottom module just for few mm

Hello,
I have Galaxy s2 (GT-I9100) but the problem is that it doesn't take charger, however, the phone is showing charging icon.
Everytime I have put my battery in universal battery charger & it take long time to charger my battery i.e 6 hours 60 % and 8 to 10 hours 100 % and then when I put battery in my mobile & use battery, It is draining very fastly i.e 100 % just finished in 2 hours. :crying:
What should I do? Can you please tell what is the problem & how can I fix it (or from my nearest repair shop).
Thank you in advance!
Try change the cabel and charger.
If its still not work go ahead for a new battery and usb port flex. Make sure the rev. you buy is same as in your phone

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I have already bought a new battery.
Sorry for the noob question, what are you saying "rev" ? and usb port flex?
So, u bought a new Battery, but the device and even the external charger are both charging slow? U should now try to use another Cabel and Adapter (Even if they seems to work).
Also a new battery(Production 2015-2016) shoudn't drain in 2hours, it might a Software issue there too.
For the USB Port flex, just google it and u see what is mean. There are also different revisions, that one you buy must match your phone

I appreciate your reply. & yeah I think there's a software issue too because when I leave the phone idle i.e when I lock the screen
battery drain also there.
& I already used different cables.
Thank you.
Check in setting > battery it will give you a diagram of the battery percentage and what is using the most power. Also check the mah for the battery you bought the lower the number the short the duration for the battery eg 1650mah is what the original battery was

Wow wtf.. sorry but u didn't even bought a Original battery and ask for help?! Please.
All 3rd Party battery's who claim they have more mAh than the Original Samsung one while having the same size are pure fake! There is simply no way to fill more mAh in same space.
It *is* possible to get a Samsung original 2000mAh battery.....but it's physically bigger than the one that came with the phone....it'll also come with an extended back cover to accommodate this.
To the OP.....If you got the battery off eBay and it's covered in a gold coloured label......bin it now because it's utter rubbish.....even if the listing stated 'Samsung original' and it looks like a Samsung battery......I can guarantee you that it ain't.......
Unless you brought it directly from Samsung, then it's probably come from Shenzhen in China (or somewhere like that).
That being the case, there's *no way* that the battery is rated at 2000mAh....it's likely to be closer to 1300 or 1400mAh....
Finally...If you do replace the USB board, the advice given about matching the REV version is accurate and critical....Here's a link to a guide I wrote on that exact subject.......

u only need heat gun and some thin object like cards to open it.. then use double sided tape when reinstalling it again if the adhessive is not reuseable.
If the battery it's not bigger in size is not bigger in capacity. Beware, inform yourself. : )
Don't spend money on that kind of scams. I did, some years ago.

i think it has the same size but different capacity.. just like the one in op3 and op3t exactly identical battery but differ in respective capacity.. i just want to know if someone here try this.. thanks for your concern mate.
a battery cannot be the same sixe and have a differenct capacity ... at lease to my knolage. Also installing a bigger bettery might not be the bestest thing to do .... you know ... with the note 7 and all that ..... (explosions)
I think the point here is that we have a lithium-polymer battery while the one shown here is a lithium-ion battery. So it IS possible to have a higher capacity at same size as ion batteries have higher power density than polymer batteries.

No that's not gonna happen. Battery stops charging when it indicates being full, not when it indicates being charged with 3500 mAh which in fact is a rough number. But these third party batteries are risky nonetheless. It might give you better usage time but maybe they won't live longer than some months, but maybe they will. Moreover if you overcharge or misuse the battery then these non OEM batteries, not having as good quality standards as the OEM ones, might be damaged or in worst case scenarios, explode.
So it's not like it's a complete lie, it's more like a gamble.

I cannot get hold of Lehehe wich is best option, this Hsabat is second best i guess. Some say they got defective one so its kinda lottery with those batteries.

Right. These off brand batteries are often not what they claim. They claim a lot of mAh to make you buy, like it's better. Often it's the same or lower than OEM battery, or poor quality.
as you said maybe he know the real capacity of his products, and he put the numbers randomly
if you wanna try, i'll suggest to put original 4000 battery (xiaomi's battery for example) and Frankenstein it with your own v30 battery IC. That's the classic way when Nokia phone still popular long time ago. But find the right size so it'll fit in your phone is difficult task.

So that's a 5000mah battery?
You've done well to fit it in the battery bay!
I'm curious
Do you think it's using the extra capacity?
So is it using 0-5000, or maybe it's charging to 5000 then discharging to 1000 and shutting down
Or maybe it only charges to 4000?
If it's not indicating the charge level accurately I'd naively assume you'd need to use a custom kernel, though I'm out of my depth in terms of which could help
You're probably best to leave well alone and just blindly enjoy the extra capacity!

Replace Li's when their capacity falls below 80% of original. Degrades Li's are more likely to fail.

Li's have a finite lifespan that starts the day they are fabricated. They degrade if used... or stored.
A bigger issue is if their voltage drops too low because of self discharge. If so it will be useless. Self discharge rate is about 2-3% a month. Typical new Li's have about a 50-70% charge on them because a 100% charge causes them to degrade faster in storage. Store in a cool, dry place.
Keep that in mind.

Just replace the battery... before it destroys the phone. In it's current state the chances of a thermal runaway are much higher if you charge it. The pressure it's putting on the display can damage it...

With Samsung's it's Nam or India.
So for a Samsung battery anything from China is 3rd party.

It's a b*tch to do even for a Samsung.
Try to find major parts suppliers for the repair centers. You won't get the discounts but you will get the OEM parts.
LG may have a list of recommended suppliers.
Look for LG large suppliers selling other new OEM subassemblies.
