Hi
I am trying to install Remix OS on my CSC WISEBOOK803T. Not working so great.
Either I come to the flashing Remix OS logo and it not progressing or I come to the Select language but the screen is so distorted that I cannot do anything (see the attached photo).
Info about the tablet:
8-inch IPS screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
Operating system Windows 8.1
Processor Intel Atom Processor Z3735G 1.33 GHz (2M Cache, up to 1.83 GHz).
1 GB RAM
16 GB Storage
I have formatted the internal 16 GB storage to FAT32 and installed RemixOS from a USB stick plugged in to the tablet via an OTG adapter.
I installed Remix OS with this:
> This instruction only supports device using UEFI Boot method. If your device is Legacy boot, this instruction is NOT applicable.
> Prepare a USB flash drive with Remix OS installed & Boot from USB flash drive
> Choose ‘Resident mode’, press ‘e’
> Delete ‘USB_PARTITION=1’ in the command line
> add ‘INSTALL=1 vga=ask’
> Press ‘F10’ to boot
> The installation will take place automatically.
I choose the partition, the install is working and then either I come to the flashing Remix OS logo and it not progressing or I come to the Select language but the screen is so distorted that I cannot do anything (see the attached photo).
Anyone have got Remix OS to work on a Wisebook or similar tablet?

May I ask you something. I would like to clean install window 10 on CSC wisebook w803t so how can I boot from usb or sd card. I have tried to boot but still not working. The boot override doesn't show the usb or sd card for booting but I can boot the usb and sd card in other devices.

Hi
The CSC WISEBOOK 803T does not support boot from the SD card slot. So you need a USB to micro USB adapter and plug it in to the charging port.
Make sure the CSC WISEBOOK 803T is fully charged before starting install as you cannot charge it while you install.
You also need to change the BIOS settings so it will start from the USB drive. Hit DEL to enter BIOS on startup, you connect a keyboard and the bootable USB stick so you need a USB hub or something like it connected to the CSC WISEBOOK 803T.
That should be it, it should boot to Windows 10 setup if the original Windows 8 boot partition is still on the CSC WISEBOOK803T. If that partition is deleted you may need to partition it before you can proceed.

You can change the setting in BIOS for the USB device. Change USB storage device type to something else and then you can Save the changes and force a boot from the USB device from the BIOS save page.

I have tried it, But it has left the USB Drive dead, Thanks any way, I think I will just get one.
It's not dead, the same happened to me but I have been able to fix it.
Follow the instructions from freelancer81 and then go to Disk Management (right click on This PC and choose Manage in the context menu, for Windows 10) and there you will have to create a New Simple Volume. The USB will be correctly recognized and formatted.
After doing the above recommendations, if you are Still unable to fix the USB, download EaseUS Partition Master and delete all partitions on the USB drive then click apply. Then create format the USB and click apply. I was able to fix mine that way.

Hi all, using a Samsung ativ pc pro xe700t1c-a04uk
dual boot: Windows 10 pro / android remix os 3.0
screen 11.6 full hd 1080p
cpu intel core i5-3317u quad core
ram 4gb
gpu intel hd 4000 (128mb dedicated)
hdd 256gb msata ssd
I run remix os 3.0 from a 64GB 544/MBs msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure.
Very fast system. Everything working including apps and games and all hardware (touchpen/touchscreen/gyro/accele/light/nfc/otg/gamepad/cam/mic/sound/gfx/etc).
Problem: Its not a major problem but the screen dimming or brightness control dosent work and thats the only problem.
The samsung ative pc pro xe700t1c is by far the most superior convertible laptop/tablet in the world!
Request to developers:
Can you please implement the sim function for internet and calling. Also can you please implement a gamepad configuration menu just like the keyboard config menu?
Thank you very much for all the good stuff remix team.

hi all i thought this turorial might help you guys....
This is a working usb install media creator method for os remix installation and legacy bios circumventing all known errors made for noobs including USING full drive internal storage space etc.
You will be able to use this usb stick for future creation of other usb install media
you will have the choice to also install to hard drive
you will need 2 x usb drives and require drive write speed to be higher than 10 mb/s
the first drive will be the installer drive and the second will be the actual usb drive used to run remix os.
For first drive basic fat 32 install you will need rufus 2.9 usb boot media creator
after creation of the installer drive keep it safe i reccommend you use a 4gb drive $4/£2 off ebay but get something thats got a write speed higher than 10 mb/s or else install will fail!
Format the second drive to your liking ext 4 for example on your pc with minitool partition or acronis disk manager (make sure the drive is formatted as primary and set to active flag)
1. Create fat 32 usb boot disk with first usb drive and rufus 2.9 and the remix os iso
2.make sure after creation you boot up the usb drive and enter remix os then shutdown and boot up again to write the config files
3.make sure you dont boot up the ufi version of the boot up, only use the legacy version (it will have ufi next to boot drive in bios usb boot up list)
4.after you enter remix os go to settings and download the update (ota) (this is the main fix)(if this update fails you cannot proceed further with instructions)(DOSENT APPLY TO REMIX OS 3.0+ INSTALLATION)
5. After ota update reboot and enter remix os again and let android upgrade
6.after this stage is complete your fat32 remix os usb bootable drive is ready to create a usb drive that runs remix os from the drive itself.
7.insert the second drive in a usb hub and boot up the computer with both drives in the computer and boot from the first drive (the usb remix os installer drive)
8.boot up and at the grub boot menu (it should look blue with yellow writing not the black ufi version) press tab and type: INSTALL=1
9. then press enter then you will enter usb media creation menu select scan usb drives and select the second drive (the remix os running drive)
10. It will ask you what you want to format the drive as so select do not format option (becus you already formatted it)
11.then it will ask you to install first grub boot menu say yes
12. Then it will ask you to install second boot grub efi menu say yes
13. Next it will ask you if you want to format the boot partition or something like that say *** no ***
14. Then it will ask you if you want read/write privelage say yes
15. It will proceed to write the remix os onto the drive
16. When finished it will ask to restart (at this point i just switch the pc off by holding power button then restart and boot off the new second drive to run the os from it already upgraded too)
note: If wanting ntfs version of remix os then its a little complicated than this and you will need to use imgtools to increase the data.img file on the ntfs drive after creation with the first usb media creator drive.
The remix os ota update addresses the boot media creation errors. After the ota update all drives created with the grub menu installer boot up as they should but only ufi boot up option hangs!
Hope this helps hit the thanks dont forget so i know how many people were helped by this! enjoy.
I have the ativ pc pro xe700t1c the uk version with intel core i5 quad core and its also a convertible tablet with msata ssd as hdd drive and as you all probbaly know android was created for fast flash memory and linux format os so the best combination is an ssd and ext4 linux file format. I have a 64gb 544 mb/s msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure which i use to boot remix os and run it off it. Its perfectly smooth and fast enough 5 secs to boot and the ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet is fully compatible hadware software wise, no problems at all. The 5 year old Ativ pc pro gets 119,000+ score in antutu benchmark same as the latest LG G5 with the latest adreno 530 gpu/snapdragon 820 cpu which costs approx £600 now in retail!!! I bought the Ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet for only £200 two weeks ago with accessories (ethernet dock etc) worth alone £100 on its own off ebay!!! On top of all that its also a windows 10 pro convertible laptop/tablet system which on its own without android was initially worth £1200 five years ago and still costing approx £500 even now in retail. So what im trying to say here is that for only £200 i get a £600 android 6.0 laptop/tablet and i also get a £500 windows 10 pro laptop tablet ALL IN ONE. Muahahahahahaha haaaaa hahahaha kekekeke.
use a partition manager to delete all 3 partitions in usb drive and create a new partition and format. simple way !
Try easeus Partion master.
Try Easeus partion master
google search Easeus partion master
1. download Easeus partition master free from official site or filehippo website
2. install and open easeus partion master
3. Insert Pendrive
4. there below hard disk you see 3 partition of pendrive
5. delete all partition by right clicking and going to delete partition option
6. Finally format the pendrive.
Best of luck

Its quite simple task by using "diskpart".
Step 1- Open disk part by typing "Diskpart" in search.
Step 2- Run it as administrator.
Step 3- Type "list disk"
Step 4- You can see you USB drive there as disk no. 1 or 2, I recommend you to insert only one USB drive at a time so that you may not get confused.
Step 5- You can identity your USB disk by its size like 15 GB etc.
Step 6- Type "select disk disk no."
Note that you should type only a no. for disk no. like in my case I type "select disk 1"
Step 7- Type "clean".
Step 8- Type " create part pri"
Step 9- Type "select part 1"
Step 10- Type "format fs=ntfs quick" for NTFS file system
Or " type "format fs=fat quick" for FAT file system
Step 11- After completing format you can make it acrive means bootable which is an option for that type "active"
Step 12- Type "exit" because everything is done.
Submit me request for omissions and hit like if it works. And also report me if there are any errors may be I forgot any command to mention.
Use Ease US Partition Master
I had the same problem. There is a very easy and fast way to fix that
Just download the free edition of Ease US Partition Master from the internet from it's official site
Then use the Partition Master and delete all the partitions from the USB stick ( I think they are 3).
Format the stick through Partition Master (FAT 32 is better)
That's it. Or alternatively you can delete the 2 partitions and then expand the first one till it reaches the original usb stick size in GB.
After formating the stick then you can retry installing Remix OS
Orrrr instead of installing unnecessary programs, sice you're already in diskpart...
> select disk #
> clean
> create partition primary
> select partition 1
> active
> format fs=[ntfs/fat32/etc...] label=RemixOS
Edit: Gah, Venjex beat me to it!

I have an iBall Slide i701 running Windows 10. So, I wanted to try RemixOS on my tablet after seeing a thread on some site. So, I downloaded the zip and tried to use the USB option but my USB was not detected at all. I tried everything like formatting the pendrive to different formats, but still no luck. Then, I tried the Hard Disk installation, but here's the problem. My tablet has 16GB of internal storage of which right now about 7GB is free (which isn't enough to repartition). But, I do have a 16GB SD Card on the tablet but it's being shown as Secure SD Storage and I am unable to create a normal bootable partition with the SD Card. So, when I try the hard disk installation option, the SD Card doesn't show up among the hard drives, instead it shows among USB. Anyways, I tried USB installation to the SD Card, but it won't boot into the USB though I have set UEFI as boot option #1 and disabled secure boot.
Please help me out!
Well i have tried everything from booting linux to win7 win 8.1 installers with and without efi installers it just doesn't boot from any flash drive. There is a lock in the bios on boot option that forces it to boot from internal and yes i also tried via its sd slot, the prob is the sd card can only be accessed after it boots up, so thats a bummer,

hello, ive had similar problems with the iball marvel 6 and ive contacted iball for it and they sent me this email
With reference to your below mail, iBall compbook Marvel 6 comes with pre-installed OS 64 bit Windows 10 Home Ver. Customer cannot Upgrade or downgrade the OS through online or with any other external devices. Compbook works on tablet technology it will not support any other OS except the OS which is preinstalled in it, therefore there is no any separate drivers available for that..
i dont know if this is similar to yours but your slide also works on tablet technology so it might be the crux of the problem.
It is possible to load from USB
I had the same problem with my iball i701, during win10 upgrade it went into blank screen of death. Heres what i did.
0. Make efi shell as first boot in bios.
1. Go into efi shell, type map. It lists the drives, usb is not listed.
2. Unplug usb, type map -r
3. Plug in usb drive (my usb was win10 efi bootable drive), type map -r
4. Voila now the last entry is usb drive.
5. Type reset, press esc to go into bios. Usb is now listed in boot options.
Done.

I think you did wrong this step:
"13. Next it will ask you if you want to format the boot partition or something like that say *** no ***"
if that was your mistake its not bad, there are few ways to get back your windows bootloader. not sure but if you repeat the steps 7-16 maybe at step 13 you'll get windows in grub bootlist...not sure about this, but you can try...nothing to lose.

it didn't happed while following this tutorial....
i was trying to setup a dual boot using easyBCD. I ended up with one option in windows boot manager that is remix os. Remix os is also not booting. help me getting that windows 10 option back...
take at the attachment :crying:
After installing I get the prompt to reboot or start remix. I choose start remix and it works (except sound but I think that is expected).
After I shutdown and switch back on it does not boot. I am greeted with a grub> prompt.
Does anyone know how I can get remix to boot and automatically boot?
Thanks
Needs more info.. hardware, installed from (usb ?) , installed where (Ext4/sda? ) , What version of RemixOS
First thought : Sound like.. you installed RemixOS on your USBstick?
Cheers
It is a linx1010b tablet (Intel Atom Z3735F - sound does not work in remix though, 32 bit eufi bios but 64bit cpu). I am sure I have installed to hard drive as the USB drive does not flash when loading remix.
I have tried installing several times and even unplugged USB after installing and remix boots. I have tried several partition schemes efi 300mb and the rest as Linux. Nothing appears to help. The remix partition options does not appear to allow setting of boot partition though if that matters.
I insert USB stick (downloaded image couple of days ago) and change boot option so install=1. As USB stick is 8gb and internal drive is 32gb I can tell I have the internal drive due to when partitioning it detects as 29gb.
Any ideas? Thanks
Perhaps.. (bootia32.efi)
