Hey all ...
I juz received a software update on my Note 7 (SM-N930FD) ... it's 196Mb update and has the latest Android Security patch with many UI changes and tweaks like changed drop down notifications (like Android Nougat), smaller app icons in folders etc etc ...
Important thing is that after the update, the over all smoothness has been much much fluent and battery life is significantly improved ...

Taste of Nougat ....

Nice how is the ram management on the new update ?

[SM-N930FD] Download Firmware N930FXXU1BPH6 - first update 19/08/2016
Firmware info
Model name: Galaxy Note 7 (Dual SIM)
Model: SM-N930FD
Country: Vietnam
Version Android: 6.0.1 (Official)
Changelist: 8981392
Region code: XXV
PDA: N930FXXU1BPH6
CSC: N930FOLB1BPH5
Download
N930FXXU1BPH6_N930FOLB1BPH5_XXV_FULL_SAMFIRM.NET.zip

I can confirm the device is much smoother since upgrading, you can now change the screen resolution in the settings menu. Battery life seems much better then before. Ram management seems the same but I need to play with it a bit more.

Nice sounds like a good update
I hope t-mobile gets it soon!

Ram Management is improved but No Huge Improvement is what I can see ...
Aggressive background apps shut down is not there now but it still needs work to be done in order to meet the standard of multitasking that the device of this calibre and specs should have ...
But overall ... This new update seems to be what the phone would have been carrying out of box as most of us bought our phones way earlier than the official launch by Samsung in our corresponding regions ...

Finger Print ...
Finger Print is hell faster with this new update ...
Juz tap it when the screen is locked and unlocking is done straight from it ...
Very fast indeed ...
Huge Improvement ...

Can this be loaded to a N930F? Thanks!!!

can any one post the video... with new software update

I just got my device and updated it straight away and performed a factory reset. I also have the duos version but I think it only presented me with a 186Mb update.

Hi, need some guidence here please. So I just flashed the XSG firmware to my N930F and it's a multi CSC - take a look at the screenshots. The installed firmware is APGK but it seems there's the new BPH6 firmware available, but my phone is not finding it. Is this normal? Could the update be available for another CSC code but not mine?
Thanks for the help!!

I'm getting mixed signals here. In one thread, there's people saying games work very poorly after the update - but everyone saying it's working better with it - can you all report on how games are performing? Apparently you notice a difference after 10+ min of play on the octo core processor.

This BPH6 software update screw up alot of Note 7 N930FD for Singapore users, check the Note 7 Singapore thread, so becareful with this update.

We posted the question because we would like to know if updating to the latest firmware will have an effect on the device's "rootability".
Not sure how it's joke...?

Because Nougat isn't out for Note 7 yet, and won't be for quite some time.

What he said, plus the steps needed to root each version of Android changes. So it is absolutely impossible to know until the time comes. It had always been best practice to avoid taking an update until it is known about the rootability of that firmware.

android 4.4 , B007 and B010 firmware
android 4.2 , B007 and B013 firmware
R001 of your filename let think's it's android 4.2 , but why B008 ? B013 is available .....
(and C233 is for china market with chenese apps )
ps : my phone ( 7d-503L in 7d-503LV100R002C233B010 android 4.4 EMUI 2.3 ) did not found new update
Ooops. Darn auto correction.
Of course this would not show up as an update on devices already on 4.4

I have a 7D-503L. Currently installing 15 Aug KK update B10.
Is it 503L or 501?
impossible to install
I went from boo2 to boo7 same Chinese version, the site instructs to use Sim for upgrade but links for software won't work . page needs translation and is almost impossible to upgrade thru site ,very dissatisfied with site, soon as I can find recovery software am going to version bo10, no way to go from boo7 to boo8
if the system was Rooted, the download fails.
Must reset the system then the download works.
For information there is a slight update with no visible change. The system retains the previous settings.
Thanks for the tip.
Reset how? Just stop super su and reboot?
Or actually factory reset? (that would be too much effort...)

I have a French phone and that appears like this:
"Paramètres / Sauvegarder et réinitialiser / Restaurer les valeurs d'usine."
I suppose :
Settings / Save and Reset / Reset to factory defaults.
Was afraid of that.
I will wait to hear from more feedback from users. As is, I will probably revert back to B006. Wifi 5GHz did not work but GSM connectivity was outstanding. Or as you would say fantastique!
B008 works great! Yes its a step backwards from 4.4 to 4.2, but the lag with the B007 is much less now, it feels pretty snappy, as good as the B010 (4.4)
However wifi and 3g seem to be much improved! Especially for me in the USA. Yes! this is a huge thing for me!
320DPI is awesome again and I can install all those apps that weren't compatible before with the 400DPI 4.4 roms.
This is the best version for the 503L. forget B010...

I noticed that too but to me that's pretty much it.
no other notable changes from the B007.
Obviously, it is still better than the b010 :good:
So, I've installed the full ROM from the EMUI site.
All data including root survived!!
I haven't had any Wi-Fi issues. Can confirm that 5GHz is still there. GSM will be checked during the week.
One thing I have noticed: GPS which was always good, definitely got better. More than a meter from the window, where I previously could not get a fix, I get a very goog one within seconds.
Added:
Seems like brightness adjustment has been tweaked towards the lower setting (=brighter).

Still sitting on R002,B010 and dealing with the 400dpi.
Just wondering if you still feel B008 is better than KitKat B010?

For me B008 was a huge improvement over B010.
B010 has a really snappy feel to it, performs good and eliminates the lag after opening the lock screen.
That's it however...
B010 has issues with...
Wifi and 3G signal cutting out frequently
400DPI (Makes a bunch of app incompatible)
Apps shutting down in the background after a while (You wont get messages from people on data services like, Whatsapp, Line, etc...)
My biggest issues was the signal drops, those are far less frequent on B008, Yeah there is more lag and performance issues, but it is a much more functional rom and is probably why its the newest rom they have put out...
Thanks! I just downgraded to B008 and so far it is a huge improvement over B007. Much smoother and the DPI issue makes it a fair tradeoff for KitKat.

Stock recovery and CWM recovery 7D-503L 4.2.2
Hello good. I have the 7D-503L MediaPad X1 android version 4.2.2 (B008). The strange thing is that I get the "build.prop" file that is in the system folder as (ro.build.product = hw 7D-501L). All updates are for 7D-503L. Anyway, I lost the stock recovery with which I can not install the custom recovery.
As much as I have researched I can not get a picture of the stock recovey nor custom CWM recovery for this verision and I need to update, backup, etc.
Does anyone have them? It could flash recovery? .If So could pass me.
Thanks and greetings to all
Hmm just realized I never reported back on GSM phone performance of B008: not as good as B006 was, but MUCH better than B007.
@menradio
idem for me, I have the same reference. Yet, it is, indeed, a 503L.

new firmware for padfone X/S 12.2.2.41 (android 5.1 ?)

you can check here, this is the latest firmware, on asus global server
from 15th december 2015.
you can install with new install with twrp or other...
I haven't updated that yet, but according from their own forums it is still 5.0.
It has better memory management ( I believe they updated the memory management tool from boost master to house keeper)
--- that used to be from the zenfone 2 series but now its on the padfone now. (Looks like a step closer to MM)
Gps is able to lock even quicker than before.
Sound quality is also better.
I will update it pretty soon, want to see some problems that arise from this update.
Can't wait for M on this device, but hopefully asus could continue support for this device for the next version of android as Im hoping to have vulcan support on this baby. (Its either that or Cm 14 when it comes out)
Edit:
Just updated this device, supersu was lost but reflashed supersu and works fine.
Performance seems pretty great (not noticing a difference), and memory management is just a bit better.

Doubt it'll be updated past MM. ASUS already mentioned that a Padfone S2 will be coming out sometime in 2016.

Same here. New s9 plus just bought yesterday. I just checked no updates available. Wonder if they pulled it.
Hopefully the removal of the update has something to do with the v2 bootloader. When you update to ARC6, you can't go backwards from that point, or at least currently. The v1 bootloader in ARBG is a lot more flashing friendly.

Unfortunately, this doesn't matter in my case as I have the Snapdragon variant. Jailbreaking Apple devices is easier than dealing with Samsung's BS these days; however, I couldn't give up the ability to expand storage with an SD card.
I've been hearing a lot of people complaining about dropped calls on the ARC6 update. I never experienced it myself while on ARC6 but I'm on ARDA now.

Mine is a SnapDragon model also. Although based on older information and models. I am hoping we get a V3 bootloader for those who are stuck on v3 that can be upgrade and then downgraded. The Note 8 bootloader is possible to flash backwards for some reason. Because we are on the 845 though, it will probably take a little time for someone to figure out who to get it to successfully flash backward. The call dropping issue on some firmware versions also is a problem that doesn't exist on other firmware variants. I had the call dropping on 1ARC6 but not on 1ARBG. That might have slipped into the firmware with the v2 bootloader. Whatever the reason, the Samsung community has a lot of development and cross-flashing activity that will hopefully get this figured out soon.
I came from a V30, which is much more of a mess to even attempt to flash anything other than what the current firmware is could potentially leave you hard bricked. Outside of Nexus and Pixel devices, I find Samsung in its current state more cross-flashing and mod friendly than some other manufactures. I have never used an Apple device to know how easy or difficult they are to jailbreak or what that means in comparison to what we do with modded, bootloader unlocked, and cross-flashing devices on the Android side. The locked down Apple ecosystem will always keep me away from their platform.

Well, Android Updates depends on the Brand of your phone. He may not be updates so regularly if it's a lower range phone.
To check if you have an update , just go to Settings->About Phone->Android Update (or something like that)
If you tell me the Brand of your phone I may find if there are available updates
Have a good day

Impreza thank you for making me rest.....I've been surfing online finding answers if that tablet can be rooted...please let me know if you guys found more info..thank you
Bought this thinking it was an upgrade from my Galaxy tab a 8.0 but since it's one ui core it's missing many features. Trying to trade it in now but it's past the 15 days. There's no smart view to mirror to any tv easily, theres no network file manager in my files (can't access G drive or any others).
Just make sure you know what you're buying. It's not lite because of being smaller than A7, it's a stripped down OS and the features can't be installed afterwards (have tried many apks). I didn't want a big tablet, wanted a mid size tablet with upgraded CPU.

I agree with that. If you are sure you know what you're buying, the experience of the A7 Lite isn't bad. One UI Core is the same stripped down OS in the regular A7 (Snapdragon 662) and in the A7 Lite. CPU works very fluid if you tweak some settings (default One UI animations are awfully slow). Battery lasts A LOT (8,5-9 hours SOT). Smart View was removed and changed in all One UI devices with the upgrade to Android 11/One UI 3.0 (regular and Core), and it was replaced with Google Cast native screen mirroring (ergo Chromecast).
Use Solid Explorer or Amaze if you want to access network file places. It works well on my side.
Despite being a Mediatek tablet, you wont't find anything MTK-related in the tablet. Samsung has its software very well masked. And I think that, in Helio P22T, Mediatek vulnerabilities have been fixed with security monthly patches.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I successfully rooted the tablet using the same method for the Lite as the regular A7 using THIS GUIDE. Obviously it tripped Knox but I needed it rooted for my use case. One note is that when you download the stock firmware with an application like Samsung Firmware Downloader, make sure you choose the correct Model and Region. These can be found in the settings on the tablet.
Is it possible to enable Google Discover for default launcher?
I bought Galaxy Tab A7 Lite LTE SM-T225 3/32GB and it works quite nice. Small and good device. Would be cool to see on it clean Android or LineageOS (fingers crossed). There is not too many ~8 inch tablets today with the latest Android version.

I've been working on porting TWRP for AOSP Android 11 to this device but have run into some roadblocks.
I currently have TWRP running but touch is not working and I can't seem to get Data R/W with the current tools available. It's possible it's an error in my build or maybe a workflow problem.
If anyone out there with more experience is doing the same or wants to help me sort some things out, please let me know.
I purchased the SM-T225 LTE 4/64GB model, a good device, but there was a problem on the latest T225XXU1AUH5 & UI3 firmware, specifically with a modem... after the end of the call, the mobile network disappears, and after rebooting Baseband Unknown Flashing does not help, only resetting the data helps, but before the next call... The device had Root rights, but is now installed stock firmware and blocked the bootloader, but the problem remains... At the same time, if you install the old modem UDA,UE3,UF2 , it works without problems... Has anyone encountered anything like this?
My only disappointment is that knox is included. I came from tab A 8.0 2019 which has no knox
