I've successfully transformed my XRN3 from stock to the latest CyanogenMod. Everything seems to work so far, except the front cam - I don't see any button (in camera apps) to switch between front and back cams. Any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it?
I've tried other apps, including system utils, but it seems as though the front-cam just "isn't there". Is it a driver issue or something that can be fixed?
The cam was working fine on the default MIUI global ROM. The other day I flashed with
cm-13.0-20160816-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0FI-kenzo
and today I updated with
cm-13.0-20160820-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0J4-kenzo
(hoping this would have a fix, but nothing changed in this regard).

Yes I did
Well just flashed a Lenovo A536 with CM 13 and also dont have front camera either. Cannot install the firmware on the Lenovo A536 because you cant flash some files with this device and must us SP Flash and there is no scatter file in the Cm 13 Firmware download.

My fp is not goodix,it is fpc102.
I tried many combinations ,with radon and with fpc and goodix option,i flash cm fw too.

When did you purchase your device? Supposedly Xiaomi has released more models with even more variations.

I had the same camera issue with a newly purchased Redmi Note 3, received yesterday.
Back Camera : s5k3p3_f3p3man
Front Camera : ov5670_d5v01g
Using ALKA TWRP, i flashed the following in this sequence :
1. CM13 Firmware
2. Santosh CM13
3. Camera Fix for Santosh CM13
4. Camera Blobs
5. OpenGapps
So far this works on this variant of mine, after several tries of not working on RR & Official CM13.
I tried back to flash stock miui, and re again. But i have same problem, my bootloader is not miui bunny logos, but also Cyanogen mod logos. It is not problem?

You probably have a relocked bootloader. Unlock it with the Miunlock tool.
bl are not locked, bootloop again.
Well, fp are work, but my rear camera not. How can see camera type?

I am not responsible for exploding devices!! Nothing should go wrong, as this doesn't touch anything super-sensitive, but just in case...
Tested on Pure Nexus w/ Pure Nexus dynamic gapps. This should also work with Open GApps. (And I guess Fake Nexus, though I think the camera works well out-of-the-box on that one...?)
On (most?) current Nexus 5 Nougat ROMs, attempting to take a photo via Google Camera with HDR+ will just take a regular photo. (The included stock camera doesn't even have an HDR+ option!) The "fix" is to downgrade to an older version (2.8) of Google Camera.
Problem is, that's kind of annoying. In addition, the Play Store will keep trying to update it to the newest version unless you re-sign. Not good!
So I made a flashable zip! Just pop it onto your SD card, flash in TWRP, and the proper Google Camera will be installed, signed with a custom key to prevent the Play Store from updating it.
Enjoy!
NOTE: This does not fix the video recording issues, only the HDR+ not working. You still need to use stock camera for videos.

Yeah it's not actually a fix for the non working hdr+, it's just another workaround. But great for the people who need it! I just wouldn't call it fix for Google camera on nougar.

True. At the same time, a [WORKAROUND] tag isn't allowed, so that's why I used [FIX].

Sorry about that! I just updated the zip file again. I had made a mistake with regards to the way it was signed.
It should work now. If it doesn't, could you hit Copy Log inside the Advanced section of TWRP and then upload

No, it's 2.8. 4.2's HDR+ doesn't work on the Nexus 5 Nougat ROMs.
I uninstalled v4 . then flashed 3.2 and unchecked google camera automatic update from playstore ( right up corner) . why to downgrade to v2.8 if v3.2 also work?

Huh...on my device, 3.2 HDR+ still didn't work.
Also, for me, I already have auto-update off, but I usually just like to click "UPDATE ALL" without the camera updating, too.

ROM issue maybe. Im currently using Fake Nexus ROM and 3.2 HDR worked fine.
This isnt actually a fix, for me GCam 3.2 works on Nougat with HDR+

Ok. I noticed now that video don' t work . green flicker if i look after recording. But hdr works great.
Anyway video have been always crap in our device, so i don´t use it.

Just figured it out. I updated the zip again; it should work perfectly now!
I'm on Nitrogen-os 7.1 and gcam 3.2 workshop fine
First cam uploaded works perfectly on aicp 7.1 rom.
Hdr and video.
Does not work on my Nexus 5 ABCrom_nexus_hammerhead-7.0-20161129.zip
As soon as I enable HDR+, the app force closes.
Could it be a conflict with the already installed camera?

My rear camera isn't working on all the nougat roms i tried...it works perfectly with Miui though..i tried the new camera fix patch too bt not working for me...The front facing camera works like charm bt ...there's not even a option to switch to the rear camera in any rom i tried. I tried third party camera apps too bt didn't work for me..
I have tried to clean flash romsmany times still the problem persists.
I tried RR, Lineage, XenonHD and quite a few more still none were working..and i tried on stock camera as well as other third party cameras ..nothing worked for me

Did u flash nougat firmware at all? First step?
I got that issue when i got out of miui. Fix it by flashing a custom kernel (Radon in my case)

Missing camera sensor libs probably (NOT the fixed patch).
Head on to Agni N kernel thread, download camera libs zip from there and flash it, ur rear cam shud probably work again.
After that, if u face any issues related to crash or something, flash that cam fix patch.

Hey , there is this new problem that arose here.
So i have a Goodix fingerprint so i'v been using a XOSP patch for it to run on all Nougat roms.
This fix you gave me worked perfectly when i flashed them on any custom kernel (in my case Radon), but this seems to disable my fingerprint sensor.
And when i make the fingerprint work, the camera gets back to what it was earlier, i mean without the rear camera.
These both features are not working at the same time for me.
Please help me with this :crying:

Try flashing stock kernel first using twrp image flashing option(extract bootimg from rom's zip), flash cam libs and boot once
If all works fine, then flash radon and check.
I dont know if it will work but give it a try.

I have already flashed two different ROMS. Clean flash, wiped data, cache, system and even internal storage. I installed stock gapps for 8.1.
I've tried two different ROMS. First one was Firehound and the second AOSP Extended. In both the camera isn't working, not even opening (just tells me it stopped working) third party camera apps don't work either.
Am I missing something here?
Gapps issue.
Flash the latest stock firmware.
Camera will start working.

im having this annoying issue of the primary camera not working on any of the custom roms. i tried alot of custom roms still and it wasnt working in anyone of them. Don't know what issue is this. camera doesnt work in any type of camera operation related apps. I always follow the full clean rom flash instructions provided by the respective developers.
Please help me with the solutions.

say for example if i open snapchat/insta or whatsapp or camera app it shows black screen and then the app freezes completely
Fastboot Flash the stable miui and try custom roms again..
Also, when you are flashing the ROM's, are you also flashing the firmware/vendor packages with the ROM?

at one point on HAVOC2.7 i used to get this freezing problem on whatsapp! where campera used to freez!
later Havoc got updated to 2.8 and i stopped getting this problem!
also I used to install Gcam and used to freeze stock camera app which made conflict!
which rom you are on? try Crdroid! and report back

i have tried havoc, pixel experience, lineage, evolution and im currently on crdroid got this issue in all of these roms. even tried variety of custom kernels to fix this issue. nothing seems to work.
(i did full clean proper flash everytime)

on MIUI camera works perfectly normal and fine its just on custom roms im getting this issue. weird. im currently on latest firm&vendor 10.3.7.0
