Problem with OIS back camera. Thinking of replacing the camera sensor - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my OIS has been acting up lately. Kind of weird. Like when the camera app is open, if I move the camera, the lens seems to keep 'drifting' ever so slightly after I stop moving my hands. It comes to a complete stop after a few seconds, but its very strange. If I move my hands again, to get a new photo framed, same thing happens. The sensor seems to keep drifting maybe for a second more even after I've fully stopped.
I've wiped data from the camera app, did usual factory reset, and problem persists. I'm thinking something is wrong with the OIS motor or how the sensor is positioned within the OIS?
If LG won't honor warranty(I'm 2nd owner), I'm thinking of getting an OEM replacement camera sensor. My question: Is the OIS module inside the module that houses the camera sensor, or is it somewhere else on the device? I was looking at this replacement for example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Back-Re...132462?hash=item1a14dc502e:g:t8YAAOSwOVpXVU1U
I'm wondering if something like that replacement part also contains the OIS module. Let me know what you guys think. I can't seem to find answers anywhere if the OIS is with the sensor or someplace else.

I only experience that drifting issue with the slow-mo recording.

Why don't you just ask LG customer service? That would have been my first move.

Honestly that's how OIS has behaved for me on my Lumia 1020, Note 4, and LG v10.

Wide-angle lens distortion fix?

Hi!
I recently got my lovely OnePlus X. Everything is where it needs to be, can't be more happy!
Except for the front facing camera, where the phone suffers from the wide-angle lens distortion syndrome which lots of new recent phones have.
The only way where I can fix this is by zooming a little bit so that the warp map for the camera no longer is "being used" even though it's already there?
The point is that I pretty much liked my front facing cam back when I had my Nexus 5.
Since I use Snapchat alot; when taking dank selfies, I just look like a fat fish in certain angles. If I use the default camera app however and zoom a little bit in, it's all fixed. How can do this for Snapchat, since it does not support front zooming for Android (yet?).
I have it rooted with Xposed installed and ready to go. Should I use some alternatives? Can I remove the warp map hardware wise? Can I change some "hardware-ish" setting so that it returns to normal mode? I just want it to be like my old lower fov Nexus 5.
Thanks!

LG G5 camera questions

So far life's good. The battery life is solid, fast charging is unbelievably impressive, screen quality is great and the speaker is impressive. Being new to LG coming from the M9 I'm not sure how to do the following with the camera: Bokeh (blurred focus shots) and Macro shots.
These were options on the M9 as camera settings.
Does anyone know if these are settings or how to set great bokeh or macro shots in manual mode? Any help would be huge. Also if anyone knows how to turn off swipe on the keyboard that would be a bonus too. Thanks in advance.
Can't help with the Bokeh. Macro shots seem to be pretty easy to take on this phone though, point and shoot.
As for the keyboard, go into keyboard settings, and turn off "Path input"
The Bokeh effect isn't on the LG Camera (yet I'm hoping) and it doesn't work on the Google Camera.
I've had a problem with the camera not focusing properly on the regular lens, not on the wide angle lens. It's happened a couple of times now. I thought the lens was just dirty but no matter how much I cleaned it, the lens just couldn't focus properly. I tried focusing on multiple items, near, far, single point, multiple points, etc, but pics were still blurry. Both times I just rebooted the phone as last resort and it seemed to fix the problem. Must be some kind of software issue. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix without having to reboot every time it happens?

Yes same problem. Is this only in Google camera for you? It was in every app for me. I had to exchange it.
It was on the built in camera app on the G5. I've since cleared the cache and haven't had the issue come up again.

LG G5 wide angle lens focus?

Hi guys, I tried looking everywhere but I haven't been able to find any info about whether or not the wide angle lens has any focus (autofocus) or even touch focus? Or is it fixed at infinity only, with no focus? Or maybe my camera is broken? For example if I put the main camera close to my leg and focus I can clearly see the hairs, but if I do that with the wide angle it is blurry (however things, far away seem clear). If I touch the screen while in wide angle mode the green focus square briefly appears, such as with the main camera, but it does not focus neither does it make the focusing sound.
Also the front camera has no touch focus or autofocus, right? This is driving me crazy, and would appreciate anu feedback so that I know if I should send my phone back for repairs or not. I heard that some G5 phones are suffering from hardware failures regarding the main camera focus, but I want to know if the wide angle supports focusing in the first place. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!

The Regular 1X Camera stopped working

I am still able to use Ultra Wide Angle and 2X zoom camera in GCam. In Facebook messenger it started to use 2X zoom also. But I can't seem to get the regular 1X Camera to work
Yes I restarted a few times.
I am on xiaomi.eu 9.4.11
I hear rattling if I shake the phone which makes me worried it might be a hardware problem. The rattling is only in the camera region. Other parts don't rattle.
What do I even do because I'm in USA and I don't have Xiaomi service centre or anything near me
Okay Update: I went to wipe Cache but accidentally factory reset. But that seemed to have fixed it. My suspiscion was on Magisk Module for Gcam. However, neither was gcam able to connect to the camera so nvm. idk what happened. Maybe because I shook the phone enough to where it got connected again.
It still rattles but the camera at least works.

It pains me to say, but I also hear a slight rattle when shaking it, from around the camera! It causes me no issues but I'm unsure what to do, if anything, about it...

They all rattle.... I see it positive. I hope one sensor have OIS and it will be activated in the future. [emoji1787][emoji1787]
Wishful thinking I guess.
Rattling is normal, moving parts of autofocus do that sound. No OIS.

Question Camera Lenses rattle?

Hi all, can anyone please confirm if you grab phone and give it a rapid shake, can you feel any sort of rattle from like the top of the phone, where the camera Lenses are? If someone could please confirm if it is normal or is it just my phone which does this? It does feel like the camera lenses are moving slightly.
Yes my camera lense rattles when shaking the phone . Doesn't seem like a big deal. Only quality control issue with phone I can tell.
Well to be honest it does not bother me much, however for a device which comes at this price I'd of expected this sort of matter not to occur. Anyway thank you for replying. You have put my mind at rest as I thought there is a legitimate issue with my phone.

Thank you for replying. Good to know we all experience the same thing.
If my understanding is correct, the phone does have movable lenses for the zoom feature...correct?
I would venture a guess that what you're hearing is those lenses moving slightly.
That's a common noise and not a manufacturing issue. It's the OIS on the camera modules. If you open the camera app and then shake it, the rattle should stop or reduce. I believe 2/3 modules have OIS, so with one in use the other might rattle just less noticeable than both together.
I'm waiting for the delivery of my Xperia, so currently rocking a Samsung note 10 which also rattles but stops if the camera app is open
Mine also does it but it is normal.
It was the same for previous xperias I owned too, even those with 1 camera lens.
This is not a defect or quality control.
This is normal and expected behaviour.
I think the information about it should be also possible to find in user manual.
Nothing to worry about.
The rattling comes from the Dynamic Vibration engine...same thing with the Xperia 1II
The Dynamic Vibration system just uses a larger haptic vibration motor. I tried it, it's a gimmick. Turned it straight back off again.
The rattling is just the lens elements - remember, they have to move slightly to be able to focus, and also the periscope-style telephoto does 70 and 105 mm using the single telephoto module, so that has to move as well. Plus you have all the usual OIS wiggle. It's no big deal.
Sony’s Xperia 1 and 5 Mark III introduce variable optical zoom (but that's not what we're excited about): Digital Photography Review
Sony's Xperia 1 and 5 Mark III smartphones introduce a variable 70-105mm telephoto optic, 120Hz OLED displays, and are the first cameras ever to shoot 20 fps with temporal noise reduction. Read on for an in-depth look.
