S3 already has 9,000,000 pre-orders! Maybe this is the real iphone killer after all. Wonder if the success of this device will carry over to the next version of the Note? I am happy for Samsung cause they make great devices. My old Samsung Epix just recently stopped working after 4 years. Hope my Note makes it 4 years. I bet the Note will get 10,000,000 pre-orders.

I just don't get why people are asking for a new Note already. This note isn't even 6 months old and people want a new one? The note probably won't ever outsell smaller phones because the market for this size phone is small. As for phones being an Iphone killer, I'm tired of that statement too.

Color deficiencies? I thought my iPods retina was amazing until i held it up to this thing; this makes the retina look faded! I think the screen is just fine.

Cry more? Seriously it's a Freaking phone, not at 48" 600Hz plasma TV! For what it is, its brilliant and beautiful and is all around awesome. But if it bothers you that much, I'll give you $40 and a soda for it.
Why do u want to shell out more money i think its stupid to have new version of a phone every 6-9 months. . . They basicly rob us blind don't get me wrong the note is amazing but jeez us poor people can't keep up damn it.. no such thing as future proof anymore... Lucy for me i have 5 lines up for upgrades soon

My phones tend to last me at least a year and a half or 2 before I get bored or see the newest shiny thing.

Nobody is crying here. Quite the opposite...I love my Note. I paid more for this phone than I did my TV. If your television had a bad screen when you bought it then it is ok because it isn't a movie theatre. Right? Other manufacturers don't have this issue and the leader of the cell market shouldn't either.
Does the S3 have this issue? If it doesn't then that means it is possible that the Note 2 might not. This is a media consumption device. The screen isnt this big just so you can make phone calls.
It also means the Note 2 might have a better processor which supposedly saves energy.
I would like to see the technology of the S3 incorporated into the next Note because I prefer the size of the Note.

battery life is what i considered an upgrade tho based on those review i've read and screenshot of others note2 batt life
s3 batt life is ok for me, but i just wish that i could squeeze another 1 or 2 hr screen on time from my s3

I've seen this and a lot of other videos about phones I don't own: There is always this better, greater, super duper thingy about the phones that were reased later.
IMHO, one should at least resist the urge to buy a new device at least one year.

Note 2 is a good upgrade if you are not looking for faster hardware, but more specialised features like the s-pen.
If you don't need the features this second, I would advise you to stay with your SGS3 'til the Note III comes out in August/September(or just go with the SGS4/other similarly specced phone once it becomes available).
The note 2 is a good upgrade because of the 2 gig of ram thats why everything is faster..alot of people forget we have only 1 gig

Are you planning on being without a phone until the SGS4 gets here in April/May? The S4 is better if you want a smaller device, best dev support, and don't need the s-pen. This is all pure speculation though as neither of these devices have been announced.

So far I saw those using note series phone, 9 out of 10 people didn't use s pen
Yet, so heavy + bulky, can put in jeans but once sit down not feeling well

I believe ergonomics make all the difference between two devices. If you frequent a tablet for daily use, than Note series offer a good fusion of a smartphone and a portable tablet. Otherwise, Galaxy series should be preferable. As such, S4 would be the best upgrade.

The note 2 really isn't an upgrade as it's the body of a SGS3 in larger form. With S-Pen. S4 would be an upgrade or Xperia Z

The short answer to that is it is actually a good upgrade.
But, if you're asking if it is a WISE upgrade, then no. Because we're seeing 1080p screen phones with 2gb of ram and A15 architecture cropping up everywhere, so the note 2 may be better than the s3, but there are others in the market of the same price with better specs. HTC butterfly for example.
I dont like anyone should possibly switch from s3 to note 2.. How i see it it is a 2gb of ram,larger screen,s-pen s3..

IMO is not a good upgrade since is almos the same sh*t but if you want a bigger screen at same resolution (less DPI) and s-pen stuff then yes itsa good option, but is not an upgrade, is just a different phone with almost same hardware.
Usually I call upgrade to get a better phone, not just a different looking phone.
Was prepping the old S3 for my wife, and couldn't belive how small it seems. I loved that phone but, I don't ever see myself going back. Once you go note that's all she wrote. .Sorry corny I know. ..

OP I agree. I picked up my old Thunderbolt (a bit smaller than the S3) and wow does it feel like a toy. Typing out text with that phone is unbelievably different from what I remember. My thumbs take up the whole screen.

OP I agree, there's no going back. I tried to use an Evo, i feel like I'm going to break it. Every now and again the Note feels small, that's when I try to send a text on my sisters iPhone. I feel like I need a magnifying glass -__-

Totally agree with the OP... My wife and an iPhone and I just laugh at the size of screen she has to use and can't believe people love that! Also picked up my old Thunderbolt and just amazed by the size difference and wonder how I did it with a phone that size for so long. Haha
I was getting my old iPhone 5 ready to sell and I couldn't believe that I use to manage with that screen size. I tried to play a game of Ruzzle and I was terrible. I kept hitting the other letters with my thumb.

I'm not...the n3 is sooo much better...even with touchwiz!
When I ordered it, it felt wrong and dirty of me lol. I've been running beans since b14. I know theres been leaps and bounds things going on in the Dev section. I think I'll love the n3
I still have the N2 on my work account... Even with bloat and touchwiz, still miles faster side by side in comparison. Also, predictably the screen is above and beyond the N2. Overall with the improvements made over the N2, you'll never look back. Unless of course, you love flashing roms like crazy, then you'll have to wait a little longer for some to come out.

I use to be a crack flasher but I've grown to like tw Roms. At least I can run my root apps on the n3. I haven't even used it in the store so it will be a new experience for me all around.
