For those MagicJack users who have thus far been frustrated, there is a new app (Talk Free) which allows us to use our MJ accounts to make calls with our TPs. Play store has it.
Quality dependent on good wifi signal, as always. Audio receive and speech from early experience, very good. However, lots of echo experienced on the other end's transmit.
Also note, when the app is in opened on the device, mic will not work with other apps. App must be forced closed, as no exit exists for app presently. It's still beta, albeit a good start.
Neat to be able to make calls from the TP. Running ICS nightly fwiw.

The app does not come up for me in the playstore. I'll try googling it later.
Edit : I think that this is for the iPads, not for android.
Edit 2 : I get your device is not compatible error when searched for MagicJack in playstore.

That's what I'm running and the app works fine. Have you tried clearing the cache and do you have the latest gapps version?
I had been running the 903 nightly. I upgraded to 916. App still works here.
Can't imagine what causes the problem on your end.
Hello people. Im new on this forum but Im sure you can help me with my question.
I have a XT910 since October 2013 and my Twitter app (official client) had always run smooth. Since, like, March of 2014 (5, 6 updates maybe?), the keyboard runs EXTREMELY slow when typing, and i've noticed this only happens on the official Twitter app. I had tried three keyboards, the stock one, Swype and Emoji 7 i think. With the three keyboards i had the same problem.
What I did was uninstalling Twitter, and downloading Tweedle, the best client i had found ATM. The thing is that this app has less options than Twitter and I really need to use it nice.
So I'll wait until Twitter fixes this problem (on the Twitter critics on Google Play, a lot of people had commented the same problem).
Meanwhile I hope there is a fix for this.
Had already factory reset twice, installed CM11, now im currently in stock JB again, but no fixes. I hope you can help me.
Sorry for my bad english
Thanks!
I'm facing the exact same issue, it appeared after the introduction of the new twitter app (with the revamped interface). I have an Xperia L with Android 4.2 stock, and before the update everything worked smoothly... It's the only app that lags this phone tbh. I hope they fix this soon...

I think i have a temporal solution. What i did was download the Twitter 5.0.5 apk, this one is the first version with all the new last features and design, and it runs nice.
Now go to Google Play and disable automatic updates.
Download Titanium Backup and with this app you can unconnect the Twitter app with Google Play, so it wont ask you for an update (you need pro version of titanium backup).
Twitter 5.0.5 seems to run good on my Droid Razr, i hope this "fix" can help other people with different devices having the same problem. Keep the apk because if the app gets updated (by mistake)you can do the process again.
Thanks! I hope it works.

Great! Thank you for the work around. Do you know if I will need root to use that specific feature from Titanium Backup?
is "temporal" solution the same as temporary?
Disable restricting Android API to get recent tasks in Lollipop and newer. This restriction causes that some apps (e.g. Greenify) don't work as they should, since Android now returns nothing or useless info when they want to get recent tasks. This module should fix it as it was before.

Thank you! Switchr now working on Lollipop with this!
Double thanks to @pyler to bring back recent task usable again....

Imho the app developers should update their apps. There are new permissions like PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS. I checked wiht an M emulator my apps (non-xposed & non-root apps) TaskManager and KeepRunning and they still work without this module

Is that a yes or no?
PackageUsageStats is not same as getRecentTasks. I doubt you can get same info from PUS as in getRecentTasks in pre-LP.
Hi,
May I ask what you mean by giving the example of Greenify? What exactly is the shortcoming with Greenify in L in contrast to pre-L?
I was following their change logs and it seems to me that there is nothing Greenify nowadays couldn't do in L. What am I missing?
I am just asking, because I am not sure why and whether I should install this module as a Greenify (beta) user.
Wouldn't it be easier to introduce your fix in their own code?
Modify module to work for only one app?
I'm wondering how I could modify this module to make it so that it only works for one particular app (Last App Switcher). I like the idea of Android preventing third party apps from getting my recent app details, but I also miss using LAS.
I'm thinking that in the call to XposedBridge.hookAllMethods() I could replace the third argument XC_MethodReplacement.returnConstant(true) with a instance of XC_MethodHook that checks the calling app's package name and if it matches the package I want to target (com.abhi.lastappswitcher) then it would return true, otherwise it would call the standard Android isGetTasksAllowed function normally. I've never done any Xposed development though so I'm not sure I'm going about it the right way.
Hi @pyler,
Is this module still needed in Android M for apps like Greenify?
Thanks
Phil

Needed for Marshmallow? Thx
Sent from my lightning fast SM-G930F (S7)
No, since many devs already use new APIs.. If you have old app, not updated for LP/MM, this maybe needed for full app functionality.
A fantastic module, some apps still require this to work, an app from myself for myself for example: RAMTool https://tiziocaio.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.thepriest.andrea.ramtool/1422/22796519/RAM+Tool
Since my app analyzes recent and running apps and on a regular interval, I fear that using UsageStatsManager will degrade performance, I am afraid that the cpu will be more stressed.
Rewriting my code to get worse perfornce than before doesn't make me happy ...that's probably the reason i hadn't yet wrote it.
Are my fears unfounded?
i am uploading the files, which will enable to use the game launcher features, without root.
u'll be able to use all the features which are present in s7 game launcher, like minimising the games, disable notification, recording screen, taking screenshots etc.
after installing all the apks, please make sure to give all the permissions to the game tools app.
happy to help. please hit like, if u liked the game launcher.
Awesome work thx! Can the other S7 apps like Clock or Voice Recorder be made installable without root like this please?
I cannot make it work on s5.Please help

just clear all the recent apps and restart and then open the game which u want to minimise. this happened when there is low memory to minimise the app.

you have to install all the files.
First of all, just so you know this a religious app, and I won't be discussing any religion on this thread so please don't
The app is supposed to download images and show them. but the problem is, when running MM I was able to use it perfectly but when upgrading to N after the splash screen the app shows a white screen.
Tried to downgrade to MM and use the app for a couple of house then upgraded to N and the same problem happens.
If anyone could help with this.
This sounds more like a problem with the app not working on N, so your best bet is to try and get in contact with the developers of the app and have them fix it.

that's what I thought, but when I had the P9 lite running nougat, it was working perfectly, I also asked a friend to test it on 7.1.1 and it did work
So I think the problem is with Vulkan API;
I can't see why you went through the trouble of downgrading for that app while there are plenty of way better alternatives.

Well not that much, on MM it was running perfectly, but because of the Vulkan API in N it didn't work
