There are different types of Xperia U. On some devices it isn't possible to unlock the Bootloader.
But there are some roms that work on Locked Bootloader. Just look in the development section.

Hi,
I had a neo V with a bootloader unlocked via wotan.
I neet to repair it an SAT changed my phone...
now I have a neo V 12w51, and I can't unlock the bootloader via wotan.
Somebody can tell me how I can unlock the bootloader with a new neo v???
I have the "unlock bootloader allowed= NO"
Thanks
Unfortunatelly in your case you can't unlock your bootloader for free. You must chose some service and paid them for this...
I don't have any problem to pay.
But via wotan I can't do it because only works with 2011 phones.
somebody know how I can unlock it with a new board version (12w51)???

Since your phone says unlock bootloader allowed = No you may not be able to unlock it. Nd even if you can unlock the bootloader the only way is to do it via official sony site because your phone is 12w51.

Good for you. But as far as I know it is not possible to unlock the bootloader for devices later than 12w14. Even I could not unlock using testpoint method. My device is 12w17.

you can unlock via official, go to web sony and get security code.

thanks, but... how can unlock via official?
in this web said that its only for 2011 devices, and you need the "unlock bootloader allowed=yes"!!!
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
can you send me the link to unlock via official?

The link you have is the correct link. And as far as I know 2011 devices means the series of devices and not the year of manufacturing. Just follow the steps given on the site.

But in this link says:
in your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
My phone says: NO
.... I will try?

Since it says NO you can't unlock it officially try some other method. Just search how you can do it.

You must first look is your bootloader unlockable. On main screen tap *#*#7378423#*#* then go to service-service info and there you find text like:Bootloader allow unlock. If wrote yes,you can unlock if wrote no,you cant.
For unlocking bootloader use Sony flashtool

If you have my xperia turned on it could also show that you cant unlock bootloader on some devices.
So try to disable my xperia (if you have it enabled) and then check if you can unlock it
