Read the product FAQ on the page you linked.

I know that it's an iOS product, however I remember there were work around guides to use it on Android (Rooted), I was just wondering if this could work on KitKat? If I recall correctly, there was an app that requires root access to connect to the device. I can't remember if it would only work with Android Jellybean 4.2 (similar to pairing the Wii Remote).

[Q] Bricked, need help please

Hello all, so i tried to root my new kindle fire 8.9 and i appear to be bricked. I followed the instructions given by this guide: rootkindlefire.com/kindle-fire-root/how-to-root-convert-kindle-fire-hd-8-9-into-pure-android-tablet/#comment-8662
and around step 20 my kindle wouldnt go past the blue logo bootscreen, so i tried to follow the help given in the comments but that did not help either. earlier in the guide he had us create a recovery file and so i thought it would be best if i retried this and so i recovered to the recovery file. That did not help either as i am now stuck at a kindle fire (orange) logo bootscreen and i cannot access TWRP. Any help would be appreciated.
Also another question i have is would i be able to send this back to amazon, as my 1 yr warranty is still valid.
Thank you in advance.
What model do you have, exactly?
The guide is for the HD 8.9, not HDX 8.9 (guessing from the fact that you posted it in this forum).

I do have the HD 8.9 not the HDX, but I could not find the forum for the HD 8.9, I assumed they were relatively the same.

Try installing 1Mobile market which hosts many of the free apps in the Play store. I know YouTube works; haven't tried IMO and Skype. You'll need to allow apps to be sideloaded in Kindle settings. Make sure you have the authentic version when searching 1Mobile; it will be clearly marked as such. There are lots of shady knockoffs with similar names in 1Mobile.
Rooting is an adventure on HDX tablets with different approaches depending on what firmware level you are currently running. At present the most recent version of Fire OS (14.4.5.3) can not be rooted but earlier versions can with varying degrees of effort/risk. You should probably read through some of the forums/threads first if you opt to go that direction.
Good luck!

Progress on root for 2014 Fire HD 7 on Fire OS 5.4?

I wnted to know if progress has been made on a root method for the 2014 Fire HD 7 on Fire OS 5.4. Preferably a method that doesn't require ADB. I can't find a tutorialI can understand. I have no rooting experience, so sorry if I sound stupid. Thanks!
Was about to post the same question... from what I know you will need adb, which you can install via root junkys kindle 5th gen super tool (even though you have 4th gen it still can install adb on your computer). Apart from that, I'm just as clueless as you are... hope I helped.. also thanks for making this forum it might help me if other people post stuff
No progress for root on 5.4.0.0 yet.
I was told that on the Fire HD 7 4th Gen, was able to downgrade all the way to 4.5.3, root, and use TWRP to upgrade with root to 5.4.
I am waiting for a tutorial on this.
Maybe @DoLooper or @sd_shadow can help us.

Kindle Fire HD 7 4th Gen Downgrade

Ok, I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" (4th Generation) I believe that is clear, but you can ask me for other specifics.
My kindle was running fire os 5.4.0.0.
The next day I got the update message saying your kindle is now running fire os 5.4.0.1.
I want to know if i can downgrade back to 5.4.0.0.
I downloaded 5.4.0.0 for my device from amazon a couple weeks ago when it was still up there.
I would attach the file but it is too large.
I know already that some devices can downgrade back to 5.4.0.0, while others cannot.
Thank you in advance.

Help finding a guide to get lineageos on kindle fire 7 3rd gen

Recently considered rooting my kindle fire due to amazon no longer supporting it, I want to get lineage as version 14.1 is based on android 7, unfortunately all the guides I have been finding are discontinued and I am a total newbie to all of this, can anyone help me find a good working guide that a simple newbie can follow?
[Thor][Apollo] Unlocking bootloader with any firmware
Hello. At first, I did not invent anything new, just checked some my guess on a other motherboard. All thanks and credits to our great developers. As always, all at your own risk. It does not work on the Fire HDX 8.9 (Saturn)! All steps in this...

This guide is for the 3rd generation HDX 7 and 8.9. The hardware in them is entirely different than the regular HD models.

Easiest way is use 1-click unlock bootloader, it'll install TWRP. The rest of the procedure is easy.
