Posting location on Google+ causes crash - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hello. i have the Xperia M4 Aqua android 6.0.1. Very nice.
Yesterday i find out this: I am in google+ and i want to post my location. When i click "post your location" this message appears: google play services have stopped.
I have tried facebook, "post your location" and it works fine.
Same thing when I use the message app.
Thank you.

I have the exact same problem.
From what I've found, I'm pretty sure the problem is in google play services.
Don't know of any fix for it...

Same problem, also when smart lock is in use there is no possibilities to add trusted place because of same message - unfortunately Google services stop working.

Email app doesn't work doesn't work anymore either.

[Q] Problems with google services (hangouts, calendar, Chrome, login error nag)

Hi
I just got a new phone (Xperia Z Ultra), but whenever i try to login to my google account, the following happen.
The login works.
Hangouts fail with the following: "Couldnt sign in possible because theres a problem with google account permissions"
Chrome fail with: "Unable to sign in"
Calendar, music widget and information about people doesn't sync.
Google Now fails: "Network error"
Google+ fails: Could not connect to server
Google Play Games just close when opening.
and i keep having a yellow triangle in my notification shade: "Login error for --email--"
I have tried both stock, CM and PA.
I would be really really grateful if someone could come up with a fix!
Thanks
Just remove your Google account and sign in again I hope it helps
Sent from my GT-I9082 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
i usually have to let google services update after flashing and then re-installing the apps from the store.
Did you get the issue resolved? I'm having the same issues on my toroplus, after updating to official 4.3, have tried reflashing back to 4.2, factory reset... but no joy here.
have also tried removing and re-adding my google account
possible cause and fix
I had a hunch that it was something to do with my account security settings
Go to your Google account on the web, click on Security on the left menu, and look at the "Connected applications and sites" section (click on "review permissions")
I had an epic number of entries in there - so I started revoking access for a lot of duplicates, including about a dozen entries for Android Login Service (the downside of repeatedly rooting & ROMing, i guess).
1 reboot of my phone later, was asked to re-enter my password, and...
problems gone bye-bye! everything is syncing again.
I hope this helps others.
After hours of no sleep Thank you dannydpx
Best thread ever
I've been freaking out about this for days ... thank you for the awesome tip. Removed 9 account instances and I'm back in business!

thanks, this worked great. i wasn't getting hangout convos or gmail. all sorted now. at least i know my fiance isn't ignoring me!

Had a problem with goggle now on my Galaxy tab. Would crash out on starting. So I uninstalled google now, then reinstalled WITHOUT the latest google now update All worked fine! Applied the latest update, again crashing out.
So uninstalled and re-installed again as above, but without the latest update, all working !
had several duplicated entries from my Galaxy S3, and i have removed them all. Also i removed the one from my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013.
Nothing seems to correct the issue with Google Now. Everything else works just fine..
i fixed all accounts by removing them form the permissions in the security area. the only app that does not want to connect at all is Google hangouts. does anyone have any other idea?
Please?! thanks in advance

[Q] [SOLVED] Big problems with nearly all google services

Hi (i know that i posted this in general android, but some may not read that)
I just got a new phone (Xperia Z Ultra (yay!)), but whenever i try to login to my google account, the following happen.
The login works.
Hangouts fail with the following: "Couldnt sign in possible because theres a problem with google account permissions"
Chrome fail with: "Unable to sign in"
Calendar, music widget and information about people doesn't sync.
Google Now fails: "Network error"
Google+ fails: Could not connect to server

I have tried both stock, CM and PA.

Thanks
If it doesn't work on Stock, CM and PA, there's clearly something going on with your account. Did you change some account settings that you can't remember? Did you change your password after you logged in on your Ultra?
I didn't change the password.
And i'm pretty sure no google settings where changed.
I worked fine when i set the device up for the first time yesterday.
But yesterday evening i flashed PA and logged in, and nothing has been working since.
I have already tried removing my 2 factor authenticator, resetting the device and then logging in again. Also did the same just changing my password instead.
Also on PA and CM i tried a couple of different google apps
and i tried logging in on both wifi and 4G
Try this.
Still has the sync error :-S
To make things even worse, i just tried logging in with my second google account, and everything sync and works just fine
Huh.. It's pretty clear that you're not the first one to have this problem (according to Google search), but I have no idea what's going on. It could be a fluke on Google's servers, so wait until tomorrow or later today and try again.

Make sure your system time and DATE are correct. That should fix it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks for all the help guys, iv'e contacted google and made a case.
Because everything except gmail has stopped working for me.
I'm unable to sign into chrome on my computer, Google Drive stopped syncing, i can't sign into Feedly (uses google authentication) and so on...
So wish me luck!
EDIT: YES! i just fixed everything, i just revoked every single thing under "Connected Sites, Apps, and Services"

[Q] Parrot Asteroid Smart Google Framework FC

Hi! Not sure if I'm in the right spot, but I figured I'd start here.
I just recently purchased the Asteroid Smart receiver and I'm having issues with the Google Services Framework. I followed a lot of guides to get Google Play to work on the deck and for the most part, I'm happy with how I have it setup. Google Calendar doesn't work, but I can access it from the web browser, so it's not that big of a deal. Besides that, everything else seems to work, except for the Google Play Services. It tells me that I cannot download to a duplicate user id, which I'm sure it has a lot to do with the account management apk file. Google's Framework Services also Force Closes whenever I first turn it on or/and when I connect via Wifi. It's annoying and even after the guides I've read, I can seem to fix this. Although I'd love to get the rest of my Google Apps to work, like the Calendar, I'd be far happier if I could get the FC messages to stop appearing.
Anyone know how to fix this? If I remove that apk, will it stop my Google Play and other Google Apps from working?

Unknown issue with Google Play services - Gmail 5.0

Hi all,
I have this weird issue with the new Gmail 5.0 (updated directly from Play Store) and it keeps brining this message up and FC: Unknown issue with Google Play services. All the other Google apps work perfectly fine, it's just the new Gmail and Inbox that don't work.
Deleting the GmsCore.apk and re-installing via Play Store is not an option as it wouldn't let me in the Store then. I am running LegacyXperia CM11 on my Xperia Ray. I should mention that I side-loaded an updated services apk from apkmirror.com, perhaps, someone can upload their Google Play services apk?
Help will be appreciated. :good:
Gee Mail
Just received the update and get the same issue. Now can't use GMail at all.
I have the same issue too.
But I was using the ART, and I can open the gmail app after switched back to dalvik VM.
I will stop using ART in (4.4)m which has many compatibility issue (even with google!) , fallback to dalvik VM and wait until Lollipop.

I'm on stock rom 4.3 so it's not an ART issue.
Do you suffer from space insufficiency?
Are you trying to cure that thing by moving applications that get updated from /data/app to /system/app?
If yes then this might be your problem. Here is what I had.
With latest Google play services update all Google apps (Maps, YouTube, Gmail and Inbox by gmail) were working fine.
Then I needed space so I took the updated Google services apk which took a lot of space in my data partition and moved it to my system partition where its predecessor used to be. I did it completely well using root explorer and checking all tricky parts. I should mention that I study computer engineering and I've been into android more than 5 years so I know my way around.
Immediately after the transfer:
YouTube didn't load anything.
Gmail showed me the same message as you.
Maps force closed.
Inbox by gmail showed me a message of "oops something went wrong please try again later".
It is now my understanding that Google play services has become a very sensitive application that sadly should not be messed with. Especially with a completely redesigned and revamped app such as gmail 5.0 or inbox by gmail. They are just not THAT compatible yet to be able to keep working together after they've been moved around inside partitions.
My suggestion find the latest .zip of "pa gapps" flash it, update the apps that need updating and leave them as they are. They should work like that.
That aint it either

I'm afraid not. This is just an standard install of stock rom no root and certainly not moving files in system areas. All that's happened is I allowed to install the Gmail update then EPIC FAIL.
I have Gmail 5.0 (1569867) and Google Play Services 6.1.88 (1557022-036)
Guys, any update on this? It's getting really annoying to constantly reflash my rom from time to time... Is it possible that Google failed this much?
remove and reinstall the Google play services solved problem.
I've the same issue here but in a very custom rom, thought was my fault
Gee Music
Now after receiving an update of Google Music I now get a permanent notification saying "Unknown issue with Google Play services. Requested by Google Play Music'
So folks what do we do? Uninstall updates? Disable? Will rolling back break the rest of Android?
We have lift off!
Well what do you know? Suddenly my Gmail & Google Play Music now works. Hang on I didn't get any update notifications on these two apps.
Wait a minute, my Google Play Services has been stealthily updated to 6.5.87 (1599771-036)
Thanks Google. Sneaky.
Had the same issue
I had the same issue this two days Gmail wasn't working at all and Hangout was working but for every action i was taking it was giving me the error Unknown issue with Google Play Services and i found out the in my case the problem was Link2SD so what i did was unlinking Google Play Store and Google Play Services than i uninstalled Google Play Services and installed it againn but didn't linked them and error was gone.
The conclusion on my case was linking the app to sd card was causing the error.
Thanks

In may case turns out that I had a version of "google play services" for Android 5.0+ instead of for Android 2.3+.
I did install "google play services" with "System app unistaller" and install the recommended version at gappsandroid.blogspot.com/2015/01/download-google-play-services-apks.html.
Note: In order to uninstall "google play services" "Adndroid devide manager" must be off in System -> Security -> Device administrators. Re-enabled it after install the correct "google play services" version.
Hope that helps

This is also just happened to me this morning. Suddenly my calendar and GMail stop working and prompting the error "Unknown error in Google Play Services".
I tried to remove and re-add the Google account but no success. Clearing cache and application data also no luck for me.
I tried to Google this case and one of the guy suggesting to do these following steps and it works for me:
1. Untick the Android Device Manager from Setting - Security - Device Administrator
2. Go to Setting - Apps then look for Google Play Services. Click on Uninstall updates.
3. Reboot the phone
4. Open HangOut and it will prompt to update Google Play Services.
5. Update the google play services.
6. Done.
Now everything is working again for me.
Maybe you guys can try it. Hopefully it will helps.

Have you fix this problem? I can't access my gmail and receiving the same error message after the android version is updated to kitkat 4.4.2
same error fixed in my case
android - 4.2.2 gmail version - 5.0.1 , google play services version - 6.7.76 phone -huawei y 511 u 10
I had the same errror . I've fixed it by 1)reinstaling it from root explorer 2)synced account

Google Apps Issues?

So NewsStand wont connect, it keeps telling me "Couldn't authenticate your account."
And gMail "Unknown issue with Google Play services."
Google+ Seems fine, Drive Seems fine. Even Inbox doesn't seem to have a problem getting to the account.
So very odd.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Erasing everything and setting up as a new device rather than an older profile solved this.
Mine did that too. I found another thread where a poster said it had to do with Play Services.
I uninstalled the Play Services updates, rebooted and I'm good to go now.
