OK the title says it all. I have had this phone a while running 7.0 N on Verizon wireless unlimited plan.
I rooted it for the first time yesterday thanks to #XdaDev and I don't fell like I need to flash any roms on this thing because I love it out of the box. Anyone else enjoying the phone stock or stock rooted?
I'm on the stock rom rooted with elementalX kernel and don't want a custom rom cause my phone rocks

WanamLite is just stock ROM that's been rooted; and by the way, why have you scribbled out your kernel version?? Everyone on the same ROM as you, has the same kernel version (except those who wish to change) but no personal information can be obtained from a kernel version lol not needed dude lol

My wife has neat rom on her phone, she likes that because she is not interested in mods etc, in some ways it seems smooth and is certainly very stable. However, I prefer CM based ROMs with custom kernels ala dorimanx or Apolo, and recently my battery life and performance on 4.3.1 compared to my wifes 4.1.2 has far outstripped my her neatrom. That being said, my phone is softbricked until I can replace the mini usb tomorrow as I had an issue today with my set up, so wiped rom to put a backup on, and then discovered I have no root and thus can't get back into recovery and have no rom to boot into, no usb means no odin, thus I am without phone until I get usb fixed. I guess thats the long and short of messing around with custom v stock, custom rom = more risk but potentially greater potential to implement the latest code, stock ROM = safe and reliable.
All that I have said is just my opinion based on my experience, I urge you to get your own and have fun doing it
Lite neatrom with apolo is crazy I can run a whole day with semi-aggressive usage! I just saw the CM had it stable on i9100 very lately thus I liked to try.

I am using the latest Pacman kitkat nightly and i am very satisfied with it.
I read the official KK rom is laggy. Is that true.
Any reasons for switching back to the original Rom?

mhl to hdmi does not work on custom roms (at least seems so..)
i'm planning to test a stock rom, maybe 4.3 since i can't find 4.4 for sgp311 and i can't update via pc companion since i unlocked bootloader.
apart from mhl issue i think ppls are very happy with custom roms so not many reasons to go back to stock.
Not finding much lag here, but YMMV. If you're happy with pacman stick with it. But, if you flash anyways you can always give stock 4.4.2 a try!

Hey guys, so I've been having issues getting a GPS lock since I flashed an AOSP ROM last week. One recommendation made to me is that I flash back to a TW ROM, get a GPS lock, and retry the AOSP GPE ROM I have come to love (pure vanilla android wins in my book). The options available with TW ROMs vary a lot, so I'm a bit afraid to flash the wrong one. I'm still on MDK firmware, and would prefer to leave it that way as it's about as unlocked as the GS4 gets. Would flashing a TW ROM necessitate that I find one that is explicitly MDK to avoid a firmware upgrade, or will a ROM not touch my firmware version like an OTA would? Sorry if I am asking a dumb question, but I'd appreciate the help!

Cm12 is very nice experience, but battery drops fast, one night dropped 50%, any solutions?
来自我的 Xperia Z Ultra 上的 Tapatalk
The "solution" is to flash a stable ROM, and not a nightly/beta, which all CM builds are. The most stable ones are Scrubber's 5.1 GPe port, and the official Sony 5.1.1 ROM (and other ROMs that are based on it).
Yeah its not much help unless you tell me which ROM you flash. As mentioned stay away from nightly. Do you have c6806 model?
I did try a lot roms from xda and i am using stock 5.1.1 locked bootloader rooted and with custom recovery, never had so good battery life and nice performanse. I did give up on xposed but its worth it.
