I have an issue with LG G5 F700s its showing only 2.7gb total ram.when I checked CPU-Z its snapdragonn 820 so its not possible that its LG G5 SE can anyone please help me and provide a solution
Software version is F700s10k
I have on average 2.6 to 2.9 GB of FREE memory so maybe that's the figure you've got. If you believe it doesn't have the right amount of RAM in it then you really need to discuss with LG

Hi all.
How much is the actually Total RAM on Optimus one.? I have 74 used and 323 free . Totally 397
I remember having more than 410 MB Free Ram before flashing Franco's zram. As the latest kernel doesn't require zram. I removed it using the remove-zram.zip . Expecting to get Back the lost ram. But I still don't get more than 397 . Please help to get back all the ram and can any body please post their running apps screen shot
..to compare it with mine
You're lucky dr.notor isn't here or he would have come up with some sarcastic reply to this question.
Having 13 MB of ram less than normal is no big deal. The system uses the difference (512-397) for its use. And the system usage keeps varying, so you will never have a constant amount of free ram available. I seriously doubt zram is the problem. Also, our phone has tons of ram so stop obsessing over it. I'm quoting a paragraph from an article on lifehacker.com:
The problem is that Android uses RAM differently than, say, Windows. On Android, having your RAM nearly full is a good thing. It means that when you relaunch an app you've previously opened, the app launches quickly and returns to its previous state. So while Android actually uses RAM efficiently, most users see that their RAM is full and assume that's what's slowing down their phone. In reality, your CPU—which is only used by apps that are actually active—is almost always the bottleneck.

thanks!.... I was just curious
I have Motorola Fire. Its a pretty good phone but have a constraint of losing out of memory at times.. The specs shows that it has 256 mb of RAM available but unfortunately i can see only 116mb total ,most of it already used up.. This slows my phone.. Is there any way to free up that memory?? or is it i am cheated?? thank u..
The rest of the ram is set aside for the OS. No way to free it up.

You could root your phone and then use an app like gemini app manager to stop apps you don't use, but were included on phone, from running.
Would free some ram up though maybe not a huge amount.

This phone is supposed to have 3GB of RAM but the RAM bar shows 1.6GB of total RAM. Shouldn't it read 2.xGB of total RAM?
Not sure what the "RAM bar" is, but when I cat /proc/meminfo the first line shows "MemTotal: 2925304 kB". This number is about what I would expect for 3 GB of RAM.

Are you using G3 Tweaksbox to show the RAM bar? If so the number on the left is the used RAM and the number on the right is free which is usually about 1.X Unless you happen to have one of the 16 GB/2 GB RAM devices, which I'm pretty sure none of the US carriers offer.

Yeah, I assumed the number on the right was total RAM and the left was used RAM.

Why do you think more free RAM improves anything?
Free ram = wasted ram.

Exactly the same question I was going to ask. Forget free RAM. Forget RAM management apps. Forget closing apps to free up more RAM. Linux memory management is already quite efficient. Your utilities are not going to improve it (either at all, or by any significant amount).
That's it. Free RAM is unused RAM. It's useless until it is used... Any device has inbuilt memory management that cares about the memory needs of running processes. If your device shows free RAM of 1GB all the time than your device has 1GB more RAM than it needs.
Why you want more free ram? You bought a phone with 3GBs of ram just to use half of it, why?
They think its windows, when you dont have free ram anymore it will lags or out of memory lol...
Hey folks, I got my OP9R about 5 days back, 8GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. I got CPU-Z installed on it and to my surprise it shows that Free RAM available is only around 3GB with no apps running except CPU-Z. Is this Normal? Wheres the remaining 4.5GB done? I do know that the OS takes some and certain background apps take up some RAM as well but only 3GB available?
