thank you, will try it today
As above.
Then boot your phone into fastboot mode.
open up adb
type in fastboot devices (to make sure it appears)
fastboot flash recovery (i then drag the twrp image to the cmd) press enter
then type fastboot boot (drag the twrp file to the cmd again) press enter.
Your phone should then boot into twrp automatically from previous command.
Thats how I have done it plenty of times with no problems.

Wrong boot image. Go here, and see post #64 > http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...able-forced-encryption-nexus-9-t2947719/page7
For root, that will work. But many prefer to flash a custom recovery (TWRP). Then you can just download the SuperSU zip on your N9 and flash it in recovery. Links below.

Hi...
You apparently have enabled developer options and usb debugging. Did you also enable OEM unlocking from the same menu?

On your device, go to Settings -----> About phone. Tap 7 times on the “build number“. You should now have enabled developer mode. Go back to the Settings menu and enter "Developer options" and enable USB debugging. Also check “OEM unlocking“. (It might be that you firstly have to connect the phone to a PC and tick “always allow this computer”and then get back to developer options menu and check “OEM unlocking“.
You may then start working with adb and fastboot.
(ps. Be aware that unlocking the bootloader triggers automatic factory reset - you will lose what you have not backed up)

Ok... Step by step... Please make sure you type exactly the commands as shown here:
1. type adb devices if it works, and shows your device then:
2. type adb reboot bootloader. If it works, and you should boot to bootloader. Next:
3. type: fastboot devices. Is you device stiil listed??? If not then there is some kind of trouble here. Your device is listed by adb, but not fastboot. If that is the case I personally do not have experience to help out. The only thing I can think of is that you may have missing drivers that do not allow correct communication between you device and PC.
If that is not the case and your device is listed by fastboot, then:
4. type: fastboot oem unlock. It will show that it is waiting. You will have to look at your device's screen and by using the devices buttons CONFIRM oem ulocking (on your device, not the windows command prompt)
5. If all goes well, your device should ask ask to reboot. Either reboot from menu, or just hold down the power button for a while.
6. After reboot, if all went well, your device will restart and perform an automatic factory reset. You cannot do anything about it. It just happens with OEM unlocking. At this point let it boot normally, and re-enable developer options and usb debugging to continue with root process, or anything that you want to do.
Can't thing of anything else for the moment... Let us know how it goes, perhaps a more experienced member, could share some insights???
I have already enabled usb debugging and oem unlocking yet neither adb reboot bootloader nor using the volume down + power button boot into bootloader mode, both of them lead to the tablet restarting normally to system

The problem is at Step 2 adb reboot bootloader only reboot device not booting it into bootloader.
anyone else getting this problem?
Let's wake this thread in a bang! ?
Come on guys! Did anyone manage to deal with the problem? I have absolutely the same issue. Step 2 is the problem for me too. No fastboot mode neither through adb reboot bootloader nor the tablet physical buttons. I get either a normal reboot or the stock recovery which has not many options.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
-Go to Settings then to About phone and find your build number.
-Tap on your build number 6 times until you see “You’re now a developer”.
-Go in Developer options > enable OEM unlocking.
-Connect the device to your PC.
-Power off your device with POWER and volume DOWN and directly hold volume UP and DOWN together!
-Device will boot in DOWNLOAD MODE.
-Long press VOLUME up to unlock the bootloader. This will wipe your data and automatically reboot your device!
-Go through the setup and enable Developer options again.
If you see that the OEM unlocking option is greyed out, you unlocked your bootloader.
reserved.
My a70s is stucked at bootloop atter android 10 update. I dont wang to loose data by factory reset. Will odin flash help flashing home csc? But what about oem unlock? Will that cause problem after flashing??? Pls help asap
Update: It seems like you can actually unlock your device's bootloader with the normal unlock method that works on almost all devices. The following code is the fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
but be warned that unlocking Nokia 3.2's bootloader will make your device no longer be recognized as a certified device by Google. (meaning you would no longer be able to install such apps from Google Play Store like Netflix as they will be completely hidden within the Google Play Store.)
If you want to make your device certified by Google again, just root your device with Magisk and enable MagiskHide feature within the Magisk Manager's settings. I'll upload a tutorial on it later here in XDA.
Update 2: I have uploaded the tutorial here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-3-2/how-to/guide-how-to-root-nokia-3-2-t4109641
NOTE: PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS. Unlocking your bootloader wipes out your data so please backup your data first!
Required tools: SDK Platform Tools (ADB and Fastboot platform tools)
Procedure:
1. Open your Nokia 3.2, then navigate to Settings. Enable developer options by going to 'About Phone' section and tapping 'Build number' 5 times.
2. After enabling developer options, go to System in Settings. Navigate to developer options and enable OEM unlocking. (also enable USB debugging for easier access to fastboot.)
3. Connect your Nokia 3.2 to your PC through USB (make sure you have ADB and Fastboot platform tools installed and running using Powershell or Command Prompt.)
You can run platform-tools by opening the folder, then hold shift and right-click the empty space of the folder. Choose 'Open on Powershell menu' then proceed to the next step.
4. Type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
(if a popup appeared on your phone, make sure to trust your PC.)
If adb doesn't work trying adding "./" before adb and it would look like this:
Code:
./adb reboot bootloader
Same goes for the succeeding steps.
5. Type:
Code:
fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability
(if it shows "1" then you're good to go.)
6. Type:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock-go
(DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE AT ANY COST, SPECIALLY THE POWER BUTTON.)
7. Wait for your device to boot up. (It took at least 3 minutes for me waiting for my Nokia 3.2 to boot up.)
8. Done!
If you want to lock your device's bootloader just run this command, but make sure your system is completely intact or not modified directly at any chance. (Magisk Modules are systemless so it doesn't modify the system directly):
Code:
fastboot oem lock-go
or alternatively you can run:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Tested on:
Nokia 3.2 (TA-1164)[GLOBAL]
- Android 10 (April 5 2020 Security Patch)
- Android 10 (May 5 2020 Security Patch)
- Android 10 (December 5 2020 Security Patch)
This might work as well on Nokia 4.2.
How about Nokia 8.1 ta-1119 running on android 11? Will this work as well? or do you have any other tutorial? pls i really want to downgrade this.
