After update to Marshmallow seems that problem with notification LED still exist. Unfortunately blinking of led on every 6-8 sec is prerequisite for missing of many mail/chat/call notifications. I try almost every app inside Google play but none of them can't change blink frequency of notification LED.
If there is a possibilities somebody to develop such app or module, that will enable changing frequency of notification LED? Now my phone is with Marshmallow and is rooted (thanks to @PiSpecialist), l am ready to test everything.
Such app will be very helpful for every Xperia M4 user.
If there is a way to change blinking frequency permanently - via changing of configuration file somewhere? Any help will be appreciated.
I wanna change..

Has anyone managed to find an app that can handle the notification led of this device properly? I need to alter the way it blinks when I receive sms, emails etc. The main problem is that only the green colour is supported so I need to change intensity and duration in order to distinguish type of notification..
Thanks!
Michael

apparently there is no app for changing intensity although you can alter the duration of the notification led by increasing its frequency which can be done by either light flow pro or light manger in the play store
hit thanks if it helped:good:
hey guys,
i have this sorta weird issue where my phones light bar is not working properly. i looked all over the thread but couldnt find anyone with this same issue.
i flashed a AOKP custom rom recently, im loving the speed, everythings awesome, but the led bars dont work. the normal theme colour thingie is off, which is understandable, but the illumination bar notification app also doesnt work, and the light bars dont work when i use the walkman that i installed later. but weirdly, u-disco can control the lights, and they also light up along with the notification led for phone notifications like low battery, or battery charging.
i was wondering if anycould suggest a way to get at least some of the functionality back.?
im sure that 3rd party apps can control the light bar cuz u disco pulled it off.
any help would be greatly appreciated

What's your phone? If your phone is Xperia U, search for Xperia U illumination files and download and get ADB server because the RunMe.bat should only be work with ADB and place all files in ADB folder. Then run the RunMe.bat twice in order to be sure. If it's done, now you can get illumination with illumination bar notification app.
That's all? No! You would like to set theme in illumination bar notification but it always turning off.
Now you change your display settings. Follow this fix which is not mine.
ILUMINATION BAR FIX FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLADER
i've solved the brightness bug!!!
- settings --> display --> brightness
- set brightness to min level
- settings --> display --> automatic backlight --> light levels --> edit other levels
- set every "screen" and "button" cells to "255" value
- click "save & apply"
- settings --> display --> automatic backlight --> light levels
- check "use custom" box
- settings --> display --> brightness
- set brightness to max level
- check "automatic brightness" box
DONE!!
(to re-activate automatic backlight, simply uncheck "Use custom" in "Automatic backlight" menu)

So i just got an i9300 and right after i got it I rooted it, changed the recovery to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719744 and flashed a custom rom based on 4.3 (cm10.2 + pa + aokp) but my led notification doesn't work... i mean it light up when i charge the battery, when it needs to be charged, when i get a call it lights up (until i answer the call then it turns off), but it doesn't notify me on missed events....
this is my configuration
I think there's a setting to enable led for notification in settings make sure you've it checked
sent from the state where marijuana is NOT illegal !
this is the only led settings i can find and i also used light manager and light flow nothing
in these settings (you are showing in your screenshot) give the apps you need specific led behaviours and also change their speed etc.
then press on the "test" button and switch your screen off (now the led should light up the way you managed it). From now on the led should work for these apps
this procedure works for me everytime when I update the cm 10.2 rom I am using (temasek's rom)
by the way which missed events do you mean? I've never tested the notification led on anything other then messaging apps like facebook, email, calendar etc.
I tried what you said for messaging and it didn't work...
I mean exactly those you mentioned...

There are several apps in the Play Store, which can manipulate the LED light for different notifications:
Light Manager, Light Flow or Flash Notification.
Hi,
I recently flashed OmniRom on my OnePlus 3T but the notification led gets disabled every time I switch to DND mode. There is currently no option in OmniRom to prevent this from happening. Is there any way to reenable it somehow?
I found out you can change the led brightness by changing the value inside the /sys/class/leds/red/brightness file for example. In this folder is another file 'trigger' which - to my understanding - lets you configure when the led should be turned on.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to completely enable or disable the led specifically for notifications.
I would like to use tasker to write to some file using root permissions to enable the notification light every time the phone switched to DND.
Could you help me find out how to do this? Maybe there is another way to achieve what I'm trying to do but this is how far I got.
