Whether it's from fast-charging, using cheap cables and chargers, or both, batteries don't like heat. Since my Note 7 was getting pretty warm with fast charge, I turned it off in settings since I don't really need it most of the time anyway. Note 7 no longer gets warm while charging.
If the issue is only with poor quality third-party cables or chargers and not the Note itself, why would Samsung hold up the deliveries?
All they would have to do is issue stern warnings about using only approved Samsung parts.
I'm not having any heat or charging issues with my Verizon Note 7.

I wouldn't trust any random 3rd party charger with my thousand dollar phone. Especially since the Note 7 uses USB type-C, which has a notoriously amount of cables that can actually damage your phone because of either shoddy construction or completely out of spec.
That and the charger in the picture was probably a crappy Chinese aftermarket one/

For the OMG! crowd, here's the original article. Some websites are speculating it could be an Exynos model issue. Korean Samsung products as regular XDA'rs know aren't the same as other regions. The fact that the stop-sale only affects Korea most likely means whatever issue is being investigated (Samsung hasn't said the battery, Reuters is hypothesizing it) is Korean-market specific. If it was a problem affecting all Exynos devices and Samsung only halted sales in Korea that would open up huge liability if someone outside Korea was injured or incurred economic loss after the issue was known.
If the issue is h/w related and requires a design or component change Samsung's screwed. They can't fix a problem serious enough to stop sale for future purchasers without applying an upcoming change to phones already sold. If it is a battery issue caused by crappy third party chargers and/or cables the fix could be as simple as a warning label affixed to the phone and changes to the documentation and manuals. Many a Nexi has been fried by crappy USB-C cables so now more than ever it pays to get charging apparatus that can be trusted.

Quality control problems, if confirmed, could deal a major blow to the world's top smartphone maker, which was counting on the Galaxy Note 7 to help maintain sales momentum in the second half when competition is expected to intensify. The phone, which launched in South Korea and other markets on Aug. 19, retails at 988,900 won ($887.23) in South Korea.
Production problems for the curved displays for the Galaxy S6 edge phone resulted in disappointing sales last year, and Samsung risks a repeat this year if it cannot address the Galaxy Note 7 supply problems quickly. Rival Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is expected to unveil its new phones next week.
Hyundai Securities said in a report released on Thursday that the Galaxy Note 7's problems appeared to be related to modules or parts, and that such "malfunctions" should be resolved quickly.

It was not immediately clear when Galaxy Note 7 shipments to South Korean carriers would resume.
so far all public reports of exploding notes are from Asian models, which have no Samsung logo.
I don't know what purpose the people are using their phones for (the ones who's phones have exploded). If they're using their phones for regular purpose and within the guidelines and then the phones exploded, then it is serious.
There could be many reasons for the explosions and the supposed bootloop/bricking issues. Use of non-compliant cords, charging after testing it out in water, more power supply to the phone than its safety limit, etc.
People testing out the phone in water for no reason seems ridiculous to me. Just because you're wearing a helmet and safety accessories doesn't mean you should purposely get into an accident to test out the gear.

thanks - I rang Samsung but as its not officially launched until tomorrow (in UK) even though I have it in my hand (for 2nd day!) they don't sell any accessories. So ordered 4 Anker ones that have built in fuses. I doubt the ebay ones I bought do!!!

The damn phone is on backorder every where in the US at least. Looked online at amazon and eBay's uk sites and they don't even have any period. Not sure if the phone has even hit Europe yet. I've been holding out for the 6GB model but I am tired of my GS6 Edge and it's broken screen and my backup phone is like a 2013 Moto x and yeah it sucks.
I'm pretty sure, I don't think om understand how much people will buy their stuff if they quit messing around and actually make an excellent product.

They have been in business since 1985. I am pretty sure this was a marketing ploy used to generate interest and demand for their product. It is human nature to want what we cannot have. Just be patient.

Well it was first released in the Chinese market. From what I can tell, due to carriers and a bunch of restrictions with selling stuff in the US, some companies are very cautious. First Axon needed to test the waters with a lower scale launch.
Also don't hate on the OG Moto X. It's seriously one of the best devices ever, up there with the Nexuses.
I'm glad I pre-ordered for the first run. This is one of the best phone values I've had in a long time, comparable to the Oneplus One when it released. Keep the prices low and specs high, engage the xda community, keep the warranty, and I will continue to be a customer.
I think it should be getting MORE attention. It is time the big name brands take a hit in their pricing and provide affordable flagships, however they need to do s, otherwise I will continue to buy the high value chinese brands.

I agree, for $400 (especially + giftcard and headphones) its a great deal. The two major cons of the device are the reception, and camera. Minor quirks with software can be fixed, and the capacitive button locations can be gotten used to. As a device I'd give it a 7.5/10, as a device that costs $400, 8.8/10. I am still surprised that it has an s6's amoled, audio that is easily top 3, etc. To me, the only thing that is making me question this phone is the reception, other than that I am completely happy with it even with the other issues.
Galaxy Note 7 on back order also so cut ZTE some slack. I can name several flagship phones that sold out or back ordered in the first month or 2 and no one lost their mindss like people are doing with ZTE.
ZTE just told me that the phone came to the USA market officially before the EU market so the USA version may seem better than EU.
The Official EU release is coming very soon though this month it looks like.
They promise that they provide good service to all users around the world and not just the USA

Dude, "good service" for me includes unlockable bootloader for everybody, not just americans. Ordering a oneplus 3 next week, once the graphite color is available. Gold is ugly as hell. Don't only women buy gold phones? I only have seen women and gay dudes with gold phones
I received my ZTE Axon 7 Gold Colour today in Frankfurt, Germany.
I ordered on the 31st of August and picked it up at Media Market this afternoon (02.09.)
It was sold out in a day once it appeared on the German price comparison website idealo.
I am loving the sleek build of the phone so far and its speed but funny enough, the listening sound appears to be too low even on high volume and I cannot find any theme store anywhere as the stock UI is ugly as hell.
I will keep going through it to see its strength and weaknesses.

What are the versions available in the EU or UK market?
I'm planning to buy a Chinese version, 4GB+128GB for about 2900RMB, 330 GBP, during my China trip later this month. But I'm slightly concerned that I wont be receiving OTA updates for EU markets afterwards.

OTA updates aren't based on where you currently are located. They're based on the region of the device. A Chinese A7 will only be getting the Chinese OTAs.

I think this may be like the OnePlus One in that it's an exceptional package for the price. The Axon 8 or whatever going forward will likely have less bang for buck as with OnePlus Two/X because of demand.
I'm hoping that for once being an early adopter (albeit waiting 6 weeks) will pay off with a phone that I will get a good two-three years out of.

my local best buy has the grey version in stock today, less than 3. im really contemplating exchanging my nexus 6p for it. its a tough decision because i love android 7.0 but the battery life and lcd is subpar on the 6p. your getting more bang for buck with the axon. the only concern i have is getting ota updates and any rom development.

If you go to the local ZTE USA website, you can order the phone. According to their website and this device will ship prior to 9/9. That is but a few days, but since they already know when it will shipband this has been on their site for several weeks, this was probably a marketing ploy more than likely. The hope to be to increase demand by reducing supply. I am quite sure, this company of professionals, that has been in business since 1985, did not make a rookie mistake like this.

I suspect that Best Buy is getting first dibs on the latest batch, possibly to make up for not receiving any units from the August batch (they all went to ZTE/Newegg/B&H and some to Amazon).

Picked up my Grey from BestBuy yesterday from pre-order. The retail launch ones are supposed to go on sale later this week.
I managed to get the grey one today at a Best Buy 45 miles from me, they only had one and no idea when or if the store will get more stock.

It looks like your post is now possibly incorrect, it has now been confirmed that the release date for the Note 7 in the UK is October 28th, I imagine this would be the same for the other major economies of Europe. This tallies up too with the pre-order I made with Carphone Warehouse, they also stated 28th October a few days back.

Link? Sales in Korea start October 1st. I'd expect sales in the U.S. to resume as soon as the initial exchanges are fulfilled - let's say the first or second week of October. End of November sounds kind of inaccurate for a market as important as the EU. Of the 2.5M phones "sold" a large portion never left the distribution channel. Meaning they were never opened and put in consumer's hands. Apparently Samsung's x-raying those phones to inspect their batteries and if good they'll be redistributed. I think mine's one of those because its build date was 9/7 in Korea and the box had been opened and resealed twice. If 1M of the unopened recalled phones can be determined safe and put back in the retail channel than getting inventory on the market should be fairly quick.
UK customers are being treated shockingly and appallingly by Samsung compared to other countries in regards to not being offered any compensation for the recall of the Note 7
We already have the disadvantage of paying a higher price for Samsung products
Denied the Galaxy Note 5 in 2015
Denied the launch of Samsung Pay
Delayed launches of new releases before other countries
And now being denied any sort of compensation for the double recall of the Galaxy Note 7. Despite other countries like the USA receiving $100 for the inconvenience.

Any compensation for loss of money due to buying accessories
Any discount for the replacement Galaxy S7 Edge that is offered by Samsung
What we did receive:
A patronising and poorly worded email, that implied the greatest gift Samsung could offer to it's disadvantaged customers was a refund.
Something that Samsung would be legally obliged to do in any case.
The only way to get what we deserve is to complain officially to Samsung.
So, I am here to help you:

To action this I would like you to either offer a cash compensation in line with other countries, or offer a heavily discounted alternative replacement phone that is as near equivalent to the Galaxy Note 7 (for example, the Galaxy S7 Edge).

The manufacture is responsible for your losses so I would go with Samsung.
The category is "other" as you are complaining about customer service not the product in this instance.

No I really don't think that.
In the UK (and Europe) we have been the underdog well before BREXIT. Besides, we haven't actually left the EU yet! (Though it can't come soon enough - that's another topic elsewhere!)
Sadly, everyone blames everything on BREXIT - probably someone blames the weather we have had recently on it!
I been complaining hard on Twitter about the lack of consistency from facebook, Twitter and email.
Two started to get information, by email they started to complain about my abroad purchased of a dual SIM phone and how I have to discuss with them even though I was offered a single sim variant before 2nd recall.
I have posted this chat to get an actual response. Getting quite angry with the run around

The online shop are not the best team to contact regarding the customer service failure. It's online support.
If they fob you off with 'cut and paste' replies then it goes further up the chain.

Just took mine back for a refund to CPW. Today is a sad day!

Just returned mine today also. Was asked for it headset box and all contents. I stood my ground and said while we stand here another potential customer will leave due to waiting in line (shop was busy . That soon surpassed the hurdle of accessories required rubbish. Then I was also refunded the £100 I paid upfront? No idea when I supposedly paid that shhh. Si now you ten days until beach to upgrade status happy days. The reason happy, is if noticed scratches staying to appear on the front left of screen. My two year old note 4 if still mint with no screen protection. So maybe something in the G5 screens??
The tried pushing inferior S7 edge as it's a safe phone and really the same! I said no thanks I'm due an upgrade not down grade and with outdated tech, at that.
Going short term sim only till S8+ arrives, hopefully sooner rather than later
The so called $100 allowance isn't really all that great a deal either. It is only for Samsung phones. Really, the only phone anybody will use it on is the s7. So Samsung is hoodwinking these folks...1. getting them off the complaint list 2. getting them locked into another 2 year agreement 3. Giving them 100 dollars bill credit for a phone that is about to be replaced, which is going to reduce any remaining inventory (great for Sammy) right before the release of the s8.
Go figure. Our situation isn't much better, and may be worse since the 100 dollars is acting as a incentive to make a poor choice.
EDIT: oh, and actually, the 100 dollar bill credit is in reality no benefit since contract phones are always inflated. You'll basically get the phone for $575 instead of $675. You could've had the same discount if the phone had been purchased via Amazon. They'll definitely keep the 100 dollar lower price point for the s7 once the new one rolls out. Nothing lost.
It is not just UK. The EU is a secondary market for Samsung. We all know that. Why - that I do not know.

I hear what you're saying. But I personally paid £740 direct to Samsung (around $900) so I had already been ripped off. I wanted it 3 days earlier so that rip off was actually quite a kick in the teeth for someone paying up front direct to their store.
So even $100 (£80) is a measly amount yes, but any amount is better than nothing. It would at least cover my loss for accessories.
If they can't give us £80 off the cost of the S7E then they don't care about customers.

I don't want money off another Samsung phone. I want the £80+ refunded for accessories. I contacted amazon who tol me to go direct to the sellers. The sellers told me to return stuff and pay postage myself - 2 addresses given were in the USA so the postage would be far higher than the cost.
I also want my time paid for. At least 5 long phone calls, many emails, 2 galaxy note7 set ups, 2 note 4 set ups and a note 2 (changing to and from my other half who was having my old phone).

USA pre-orders open tomorrow, so with any luck we'll see a proper press launch (which they promised for "early April")
According to a Verge interview with Kate Beaumont (director of product, services, and commercial strategy at Samsung UK), Samsung was supposed to have a full press event for the Fold in early April.
I wonder whether there have been some issues which have meant there are delays?
I registered for more info on the Samsung site and haven't heard anything, and I search for stories quite often, but it doesn't seem like there's been anything official since February other than a few country specific carriers which will be selling the phones.
Definitely missed the "early April" slot anyway.

Yeah, I think it is single sim which is a no go for me.
Ah man, this means I need to sell my Galaxy S10 Plus. I'll preorder when the Fold is available to order and then sell my S10 Plus shortly afterwards.
