A few people have asked about how to install xposed on your rooted Note 7. Just thought i'd put up an easy guide with links.
This also works without lags as the previous installation of xposed had.
Instructions:
1. Root phone using Dr Ketan's guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/how-to/how-to-root-note-7-t3449212
2. Install Hydra Kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/kernel-hydrakernel-v1-1-t3452433
3. Install xposed installer from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/material-design-xposed-installer-t3137758
4. Install xposed framework:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591020540824278
And please support all of the developers in those threads.
well damn.. everything I wanted to know all in one place LOL :good: :good:
Is not heavy on the phone, slowing it down or causing lags?

i agree, I spent the whole night playing with it. it's every bit as smooth as stock using the hydra kernel. I was very skeptical at first too but it seems hydra kernel did some adjustments to make xposed supported properly.
I can't speak to all modules, but the 6 I'm using now are all 10/10.

You clearly haven't done your research. By alternatively using a different kernel, lag is reduced and not troublesome.

I tried everything to make xposed work, no matter what never got further than a bootloop.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I think it has to do with kernel not rom. I want to know if xposed only works with systemless root for note 7

To my knowledge, only kernels and ROMs need to be bumped other than that you should be good.
I flashed it via TWRP, no problems at all. I will say I'm using the Jasmine ROM, so not stock. Not sure how much of a difference that would make, but I can confirm it works pretty well with no FCs.

So... Strange problem here. First off, the launcher is great. My problem however is disturbing, so every time I reboot I have to reinstall the velvet apk. Does anybody have any advice on how to solve this? Thanks

My pleasure to be the first one in OP !
With wishful regards to my brother, UpInTheAir for his hard work I'm writing to inform people around about the biggest problems I've experienced with this kernel since MM.
I was afraid of flashing stock ROM, hence I waited about a week to have a debloated/tested custom ROM.
Once one came out, I had to have both bootloader and modem flashed to make custom MM ROM working, I did and everything seemed to be happy at the moment but problems started to ruin my head (some of them still exist although)
I had problems with sudden screen off with the only solution of hard rebooting, Synapse couldn't be working and this kernel is much more power with synapse.
Any how, after 2 weeks of pain I tested something stupid which worked for me.
I flashed a stock ROM with odin, then flashed TWRP 3 and then a custom rom and at the end kernel flashing procedures. the only problem which still exists is charging while phone is off or even rebooting from recovery/bootloader while phone is pluggen in with USB cable.
Everything else is working so fine.
I really recommend to flash a STOCK ROM instead of BL/MODEM only.
by the way, since presence of supersu 2.68 so many issues have gone as well which wasn't available at the time of initial releases of SkyHigh nor Marshmallow for Samsung.
congratulation

Where is download link ?
so, does it mean I dare to flash 6.0.1 with odin and flash this kernel to have the latest Mashrmallow without deep sleep issue, lagging and any battery draining culprits recently introduced in samsung MM based on rooting ?
my main reason to migrate to MM is absolutely Doze feature to get rid of some battery draining issues in LP and because of BPB6 bootloader I'm afraid of flashing MM until I certainly be sure about having all features I had in LP.
By the way, why SELinux is enforcing ? any technical limitation? any solution to set it to permissive ?
Amount of software I'm using are extremely SELinux dependent and I hate any kind of SELinux, KNOX and restrictions in Android OS.

Geez . . .impatient. I am preparing the thread !!! It takes time
If you didn't like MM, easy enough to downgrade again
Enforcing for now, features added later. Hopefully, something like my 5.1.1 kernel
For now, you can use SELinux Mode Changer app to set permissive (if needed). It think it reset after reboot.
I'm tired . . .
That was fast!
FEEDBACK: The Kernel works nicely and Root is also working!

You can't flash Xposed in EMUI. Well there is a modified stock ROM for our phone that you can flash Xposed with, I recommend that you flash a custom ROM first. Go try CM first for size.

that you both of you for your prompt reply. i tried xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64 but it still stuck at boot logo while xposed-v85-sdk23-arm64 finally worked like a charm its may be because I'm at stock rom only.

CM is closer to stock android than EMUI with little customizations, so if u want stock android experience go for it.
There are CM12.1 and 13 for us. CM13 is official with nightlies and it has Fingerprint support too. Go for it.
I would say that CM13 is much smoother than EMUI B360. While battery backup may vary, the trend I found was B130>CM13>B360. All 3 of them had xposed+amplify+greenify installed. B360 has VoLTE support, so if u are using Jio then u get True Voice calls(tho there's not much difference). IMO there is little reason to stay on B360 other than VoLTE.

If you are in B360 right now, you can't flash custom ROMs. You need to downgrade to B350 or lower because it will bootloop.
You should try the latest nightly of CM.
The pros and cons will depend on your personal preferences.
CM is vanilla Android with some modifications for performance, while stock ROM is EMUI which has the looks of iOS.

Yes Dr. Ketan's tweaks doesnt support for xda free users, the tweaks are only for pro users, but If you want the tweaks, you could donation or use another rom, which is as same as Dr. Ketan's rom. Hmm, bootloop problem. Which Kernel did you flash? Did you come from other MM rom. You must have the MM Modem and bL. If not Flash official 6.0.1 MM Rom via odin then repeat your steps. If your previous rom MM try this Kernels one of them must work:
Emotion Kernel r26 N7_Ported: https://mega.nz/#!Kdh11CrJ!l6PDPaE23...n_D-ArRC1gB9fs
or
RamKernel v5: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=139411

So, I flashed the ROM you mentioned, the first try with the ram kernel didn't work, but at the second attempt I used the Emotion kernel
and this was a success, I found all the settings and now I need time to play with them
There are no problems so far, except for the Always On Display bug I had in all the other Note 7 ports...
I haven't really bothered to look for a fix in recent time... (is there one?)
BTW, is there a threat for this ROM, I haven't found any... yet...

Nope for now there is no fix for the AOD. There is not a thread for this rom but we have a Telegram group. Dev's discuss all things there. If you want to join: https://telegram.me/joinchat/EYMSWECCdlZXQmVw4Iu_XA

Thanks.
Has anyone gotten Viper4Android working on their Galaxy S9+ yet? If so, on which ROM or OS version?
UPDATE: I've found that this version of ARISE works perfectly on my S9+, here are my working arise_customize.prop settings:
I installed this over a ROM using Magisk, so I made sure to include the core and the magiskcompatibility module first.
I then selected ViPER4Arise 2.5.0.5, and didn't install anything else.
Yes, it is working great on LightROM on my S9+

I see LightROM includes Dolby Atmos, did it also then include v4a or did you flash a specific v4a package?
I flashed the V4A zip file via TWRP that I had downloaded from one of the S8 forums when I had S8 and it worked fine

Slick, thanks man! I'll give that a shot, I still have the Arise installer that used for my S8 myself so I'll see if that takes

So I've tried using the ARISE Magnum Opus 20170724 installer I had, but on any stock-based ROM it just bootloops the system. Which one works for you? I can see now I was several ARISE versions behind but would prefer not spend time waiting for my rather sizeable Nandroid to restore between testing versions if at all possible lol...

I haven't tried it on stock yet. Maybe try a custom kernel first then try flashing it.

It would be amazing if we could figure out which version of Viper works on the S9+ and maybe some simple steps..

i find flashing (smeejaytee - feelthebeats toolbox) from (ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA) fixes 9/10 issues faced after the magnum opus installation,
ive been using this method for a while now and not really had any problems, just a long winded process installing it all but havnt found A simpler method yet, hope this helps
Which versions of viper did you install? I have a lg g7 with snapdragon 845th in the magisk modules occur again and again sound problems with the volume. as described by a user here in the thread.

I just tried flashing this and made sure to install the FeelTheBeats script that YZFR90 recommended in the Aroma installer, and after rebooting and disabling SELinux within Viper4Android settings (after enabling developer mode) it works perfectly for me on Magisk so far.

If you haven't already, I'd make sure any other V4A Magisk modules or APKs are all uninstalled, then try reinstalling just that ZIP.

Installation fails. ends with error 2xx
It may be that viper is not completely compatible with the snapdragon. I'm really restless. have already tried several versions
