Hello everyone, good night. I have two devices Galaxy tab 3 T211 and Moto E2 4G. I try to build CM12.1, but I don't get success for one reason, my laptop don't Support 64 bits OS, the socket is 478.
I need help to build it to see many people happy with the OS upgrade for Tab 3 T211, the device have source code, but the hardware is very different, the CPU is PXA986 Dual Core 1,2GHZ and GPU is GC Vivante 1000 (Dual GPU), it seem capable to run many games with the tegra extension and Mali extension, Adreno and powervr get graphics error or glitch.
So any dev here have experience with cyanogenmod with many devices, please I will aprecciatte your help and many users will too.
Gr8nole made CM11, but He stopped the work with this device.
Thanks

Hi,
The news is out that most probably, Samsung Galaxy S IV coming with two SoC variants, Snapdragon 600 and Exynos 5.
My question is that suppose at some places Snapdragon 600 ( i.e for LTE ) is launched and at some Exynos 5 Octa, does it divide the developer community as then they have to build 2 ROMs for their Custom ROMs ?
Will the same ROM run on both variants or is it otherwise ? How tricky it is to run the same build on both ?
Thanks
Shubham
They will need to be built for each chip. They are not cross compatible. As for the developers. Many have already stated they will not get any Samsung device with the exynos chip. So you will see more go for the qualcom device.

let me start by saying that MTK devices have the least custom roms compared to other chipsets..even cyanogenmod is still not available for them except some unstable ports here and there..i think it is a kernel issue but am not a developer so my question is simple...Will there be support for Mediatek devices like the new quad core mtk6589 that is almost as powerful as the tegra 3..
Hey!
There are many Intel z2580 android devices out there without proper Kikat updates. Sure they may be lesser known but some have a larger following.
Few manufacturers have made the effort to provide kitkat updates for this modern chipset. I'd say there is a significant interest to at least try to create some generic port of the few kitkat firmwares that are available. This could be the whats needed to get the ball rolling.
What are your thoughts? (Check out the post below for a few details.)
Thank you for reading.

There is an androidx86 project that has already released a 4.4 KitKat android for x86 devices (netbooks etc.) Could something like that be used in Ramos i8, i9 or similar Intel processor devices somehow? I suppose the install process is the hardest part...
Here is the link to the project:

The Dell Venue 3830 tablet (8 and 7 inch-3730) is to my knowledge the only z2580 based android tablet that has an official kitkat release.
Since there are so many different z2580 devices out there without updates newer than 4.2.2 it would be a great project for many people (including me) to see if that Dell rom can be ported and optimized for other z2580 devices.
My major issue is ram on my 1GB z2580 tablet (only ~200mb free after clean reboot). A kitkat update would in many ways solve that issue and make the tablet a solid useable device. (No my kernel does not support swap.) The cpu is quite fast and a shame to waste.
Edit: Asus Zenfone 5 and 6 are both Intel z2580 devices with official kitkat updates, (and cyanogenmod seems to be supported, surprisingly). Their roms could be useful for the z2580 community. Possibly moreso than the Dell Venue since reports show the kitkat firmware to have some stability issues for some people.

I have the Coolpad Note 3 lite. Due to the company not releasing its source code, rom porting is not good. Due to the source code not being released, the roms which are available for the device, namely cm 12.1 and rr do not support fingerprint sensor found in the phone. I would like to ask if there is any way to get the fingerprint working in the roms and if there is way then how?
Device specifications :
Processor - Mediatek MT6735
Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53
GPU - Mali-T720MP2
Ram - 3 GB
Well,i got this phone and i want to tweak it a bit but i dont seem to find any working root method or a custom ROM plus there is no much support from Asus like the other zenfones.I was wondering if anyone can help with that. That's its specs.Any help would be appreciated.
OS Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop)
Chipset Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615
CPU Octa-core (4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.0 GHz Cortex-A53)
GPU Adreno 405
There is no talent here. I do not see any twrp ported.
It seems difficult to use Android 6.0 or later on this phone.
