No. Kingroot & other 1-click root apps can possibly soft-brick a Snapdragon device.
- Unlock your bootloader & Flash TWRP
- Boot into TWRP & Flash Universal Boot Img Patcher Zip
- Reboot to TWRP & Backup current ROM
- Flash SuperSU Zip & Reboot to System
Will warranty be void if i install recovery or root my redmi note 3 snapdragon?

Hi
I've ordered the redmi note 2 and would like to install a custom rom on it when I receive it. Can somebody tell me what the easiest method to root the phone and install TWRP is? There seems to be so many different ways and I'm finding it abit confusing. Also do I need to unlock the bootloader before rooting?
Thanks

Flashed a china dev rom was an easier way without using PC. But first to need to wipe your phone. Then installed flashify to flash twrp.img. With twrp, you can flashed any compatible rom you like.
for the redmi note from the wife who only needed root I used Kingroot
And I wanted root and TWRP so I used Windroid toolkit
thanks for the replies. Windroid seems pretty straightforward, I'll give that a go once I get my phone.
You can flash xiaomi.eu latest ROM and you'll get TWRP 3.0. For root you can flash any SuperSU official zip using TWRP

you mean this one? http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-2-25.30340/
that says TWRP needs to be installed before that rom can be flashed?

Yes that one..
"Our ROMs now contains TWRP which will install it automatically and overwrite your MiRecovery (If you still use it)"
"Version 6.2.25 still can be installed via MiRecovery but it will overwrite it to TWRP"
I use xiaomi.eu ROM/Based ROM's because it has my language
ah ok, thanks mate
So I tried updating via updateer with the rom from xiaomi.eu but that failed it said something about the file signature. So I tried the windroid method, the computer picked up the device no problem and it was weorking well. I flashed TWRP and Super SU and completely wiped everything on the phone. Now I'm trying to sideload a rom using windroid, but when I go to the ADB sideload option in TWRP it just stays stuck on "starting ADB sideload feture..." Windroid seems to recognise that the device is in sideload mode but I can't flash anything as it just stays stuck.
Any ideas?
Never mind, my PC picked up the phone while it was in recovery and I was able to just copy the rom file over
Is there any option to root a Redmi 3 Pro without having to unlock the bootloader?

Kingroot doesn't work.
But maybe downgrading to some older developer build via edl mode would work.

Try this... Flash twrp without ubl, then flash superSU via twrp.. i've tried once
Hello Everyone,
Is it possible to install SuperSU on my Redmi Note 3 without TWRP? I am currently on latest version of China Dev with officially unlocked bootloader.
I am okay with temporary flash of TWRP, but want to be stock recovery, after installing SuperSU.
Is it possible at all? If yes, can someone please guide me with the process.
You need to have a unlocked bootloader - either officially or unofficially (search the forums for the methods)
copy the latest supersu.zip to your memory card/internal memory
reboot to fastboot by holding the volume up and power button
set up adb on your computer
copy the cofface twrp for redmi note 3 into your adb folder on the computer ( do not use the official twrp, cos you need a modified boot.img for it to work)
then type "fastboot boot cofface.img" (replace cooface.img with the file name of your recovery)
your will boot into a temporary twrp
install the supersu.zip and reboot
Voila!
Thanks...I already did that before your response and it looks to be working fine...thanks again
I'm going to be receiving a new RN3 SD in a couple of days. Since I ordered from Banggood I'm expecting to receive it with a spammed ROM and am planning to flash it immediately via EDL with the latest MIUI 8 stable ROM. Since it might take a while to get unlock permission and to make the unlocker work, I'd like to know if the following method will work to root the phone and install Xposed with a locked boot loader:
1. Boot phone into fastboot.
2. Temporarily boot TWRP recovery via fastboot command..
3. Flash Supersu.zip and Xposed with TWRP.
4. Reboot phone normally.
Since Android Lollipop doesn't use a hash of /system to check for tampering, I was hoping tis would work.
Thanks.

You can't flash anything via fastboot on a locked bootloader. Just wait for your permission or you can try Kingsroot for rooting.

Kingroot doesn't work with redmi note 3
( not just kingroot , any root software won't work with Rn3. , only way to root is to flash supersu.zip through recovery after unlocking bootloader )

You can also create account now while you wait for your phone and apply for unlocking feature now
I've done that and when the phone arrived I already had all ready
