So im still having the Bluetooth issue with my phone (Blu Studio C 5+5 running android 5.0). So i was able to root it this morning with kingroot. Checked with root checker, everything check out that its been rooted successfully. So i thought to get my Bluetooth to work right i would start from the bottom and work my way up. I don't really like the default dialer app so i figured i replace that with a new one and see how he headset acts with it. If i go into app settings the disable button is grayed out and if i try to uninstall it with kingroot it seas successful but its still there. I downloaded a app called "True Phone Dialer & Contacts" that gives the option to replace original and set it at default with root access but it gets to 13% and stops when i try and active the setting. Any help or thoughts on these issues would be much appreciated

Hi cesarcesar2
I've got the same problem as u, but I found a solution. U need to have root acces and a file explorer, I used FX File explorer.
So what u need to do is open the file explorer, then open the root directory, give it root permission. Then search for the map etc/
Once u found the map, go into the map and search for the file Hosts, hold your finger on it until it shows a menu, then delete it and reboot the phone.
Your internet should be fine again.
I hope this works, because it worked for me.
grey wifi fix
I had this problem aswell, wifi connected ok and the bars where there but they were grey. This first happened after connecting to a different wifi to the one my phone normally uses(home). I tried all the wiping and reseting to no avail. The fix for me was simple...... turn on phone sync.
A buddy sent me his Droid Razr Maxx after he dropped the phone and smashed it's glass screen. I'm trying to see what I can salvage from it. The phone does not show a display under any circumstances. It will boot up (I can hear the default boot up sounds). The navigation buttons light up. When I plug the phone into my PC the internal hard drive shows up. I can add and remove files. But so far, that's it.
I had hoped that I could use HDMI Out as an alternate way to see the screen but so far I can't make that work. I've got software that I've used on my own Razr Maxx to root it, to factory restore and to flash custom ROMs but I know that his phone was pure stock and I can't get to the settings I'd need to change to let the software "see" the phone.
What else should I be trying to get something from this phone? If I could make the phone functional again that'd be great, but even if all I could do was get the HDMI Out to work I'd use it as an Android computer on my HDTV (I've done this with my own phone and it's way better than the Android "sticks" but I don't like tying up my phone). Without any clue what's on the screen I've got no shot to do the things I'd normally do to modify the phone.

Ehm, the first thing I ask myself is: When the screen if broken, how do you want to use the phone?? Also when you get output on your TV - the touchscreen wouldn't work (I guess).
However, I would read the logs first, especially the kernel logs (dmesg, last_kmsg) via adb shell, and see if I can find something related to the screen. The stock kernel has DSS Debug ON, so you will see several entries in dmesg in case that the touch device responses to the kernel.
You can slo control most functions of the device via adb shell - i.e. enable HDMI (assuming stock (based) rom is installed), install and run apps, debugging and much more. But you need to know how to use it of course.

As to how I'd use the phone, assuming that the touch screen cannot be resurrected, if I can activate HDMI Out then I'd use the phone as an Android "media device" on my HDTV. This is the main reason I wanted the phone in the first place. I've read up on the Android "sticks" that plug into HDMI ports on TVs and then you can stream Netflix or access a browser, etc. They all need a separate power source (via USB usually) and most of them get poor reviews for wifi reliability, root-ability, etc. But since I've already used my Maxx HD in precisely this way from time to time I know that an Android phone could do this same thing, probably better. Assuming I can get the main functions of the broken phone to work I'd activate Bluetooth to connect a mini keyboard/touchpad. I've used that on my Maxx HD. That way you can control every phone function without ever having to touch the screen.
I've never been very good at adb shell unless I was simply trying to follow precise directions but I think I understand what you're saying about being able to input some commands using that approach. I'll read up.
I guess you are talking about the mini PCs with android. I'm. Not sure but I would say they have correct drivers for remote control - the razr would need that in its kernel first.... Only my thought.
But a keyboard or mouse on Bluetooth could work - assuming you can enable bt in the phone without using the screen..

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, I'm not a techie and this is my first post here... I upgraded to the s4 from the dinc2 a couple months ago. I've been searching for a hack for the stock mobile hot spot, similar to the one for the dinc (where you access the hidden menu from the dialer using #778). I can't seem to find any hidden menus on the galaxy s4. I've searched the forums and tried some of the dialer codes suggested but none of them are working. At one point, I was able to get to a screen allowing me to select either enable or disable edit mode. I selected enable but I couldn't go any further, there were no options to move forward or actually edit anything and I haven't been able to get back to it ever since. But, by getting at least that far I'm led to believe its possible for this to work If I knew what I was doing (obviously, I do not. Lol)
All other suggestions I've found have been for root but I'm not interested in rooting. Again, I'm not rooted and I'm updated to 4.3. Basically what I'm searching for is a way to access that service programming menu from the dialer on the Verizon S4... Any ideas?
Anyone?

What your trying to do is possible, but is not possible without root, because in order to access the hidden menus witch are turned off by default you must edit the build.prop file that is located in the system folder of your phone witch is write protected. Now you could root your phone and then apply the edit, then after doing what you need to do just un-root the phone (if that's something your interested in doing).
Hello everyone i hope someone can help me. I rooted my Kindle Fire HDX using KFHDX Tool Kit and it was successful. Afterwards i installed SUPERSU by way of the program itself and also disabled OTA. Now my problem happened after disabling OTA my silk browser will not work at all even though the WIFI is connected so i did a factory reset now when i power on my unit it keeps prompting me to choose a language even though i have already chosen one it will just keep going back to that screen. I was able to bypass it by tapping quickly on the screen and i was able to go to contacts and from there i am able to go to settings via the drop down menu. The problem is i cannot access home because when i press back it will just show home for a split second and then go back to the language menu even if i tried all the languages it wont let me use the tablet. Also i remember having paused the update before attempting to root. Now i cannot proceed to use my tablet at all. Can someone help me out with my predicament? I would really appreciate it, Thank you.

Happened to me as well, you need to get supersu installed and it'll stop doing it.

Go back to root tool. Enable ota updates. Register tablet. Disable ota. It keeps going to language because it can not contact amazon to set up. This exact thing happened to me. That's how I fixed it

Thanks. I was able to fix it by resetting to factory settings, registering and then doing everything again. Do you know of any solutions to the wifi problem where when you turn on the wifi the unit reboots?
try this

...If you try and start Wifi and the device crashes/reboots, try turning on bluetooth prior to enabling wifi and see if that works...
hope it will work for you :good:

Thanks bro! I also seem to see that when my unit turns on the bluetooth icon appears beside the wifi indicator but when i go to settings > wireless and i check my bluetooth it is turned off LOL. Needed to turn it on and off for the icon to disappear. Anyways did the updates ever solved this problem? not really a biggie for me but it is nice if i can turn off my wifi.
Please help. I went to use my flashlight app and it stopped working. The app registered as on, but the flashlight did ont activate. I checked the camera and the settings were set to off and I could not toggle it back on. I tried wiping the camera cache and that did not work. I then wiped the phone back to factory settings and it still did not work. I checked the hardware diagnostics using *#*#3424#*#* and the led flashlight DOES work in diagnostics. However, outside of that I cannot figure out how to get it back online.
I am running Android 4.4.2. with HTC Sense 6.0 on the HTC One M8. I am rooted with s-off and TWRP
The only thing I did out of the ordinary was download an app called QI from the appstore, when it asked for superuser permission my quick fingers clicked OK before I could stop myself. I only have it rooted for the S-off, I forgot that apps could ask for SU permission. I obviously revoked permission immediatly and wiped phone as stated above, but I'm not even sure if that's causing the problem.
If anybody could assist me I'd appreciate it . Thanks in advanced.
UPDATE:
umm..... it kinda just started working again automagically. Thanks Obama.
