I am currently running on Eragon 3.5 (MM) and the experience is very smooth! Battery lasts all day no problem on moderate use.
Currently Deepflex is working on CM13 and Ressurection ROM (based on CM13), I don't know but I am really sure that he will start working with CM14 too soon.

since you know a lot do you think mtk sources are easy to get or not?

Mtk drivers are prebuilt, so me, Deepflex and JonnyXDA can't modify them, so we wait for mediatek...

Yup, hex-hacking can only get you so far, native libraries are not generally readable by hex editors so (or at least the actual code can't usually be read) so we need to wait for MediaTek to update their stuff and push it to AOSP.

I would really like to see CM14 in p9000, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 running 7.0 with CM14 and it's awesome.
Can't wait to have 7.0 on this beast

Deepflex is workinf hard to realise it

Is MIUI8 a marshmallow update?

Is there any word if MIUI8 is a Marshmallow update for Redmi Note 3?
I'm really unsure, we saw an official china dev marshmallow V7 but it's still buggy , it means that Xiaomi is working on it but on the same time, i see this http://a.disquscdn.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/3627/2925/original.jpg saying that V8 will be 5.1, idk but i think that we can expect V8 to come very soon on 5.1 and then upgrade to 6.0 afterwards
Since mi max is sd 650 and launched with 6.0, shouldn't it be quite easy for Xiaomi to use almost the same rom on n3 pro?

Afaik i MIUI 8 WILL have Marshmellow, MIUI itself will support a lot of Devices reaching from Mi 2 up to Mi Max, Redmi Note 3 included (logicaly)
So i would say at least the Devices with some Performance, wich also includes the RN3 will have Marshmallow

Android TV for KII Pro (S905) DVB-S2/T2

Since it doesn't look like we will get any more firmware updates I threw this together for myself. It is essentially factory firmware converted to Android TV. After bootup I suggest going to settings and changing to leanback keyboard and turning off sleep.
Unzip, burn .img to KII Pro using Amlogic USB Burning Tool

One dummy question
Is the dtv app like the one in original releases and malysks'??
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The DTV app included is DTV app from the factory firmware. Majority of factory firmware apps were left in although I replaced most on my personal setup. When I find time I will download a new KI or KIII ROM and pull the apks to see if they have been updated or will run on Lollipop. Is the DTV app included with Malaysk's firmware any different from factory? If so you can copy the apk, install it and it should run fine. The main advantage of this ROM is that it is Android TV, so the Google Play store apps are all versions which work well with a remote. You can still install regular Android apps and they should work fine.
thnks
but
ROM OS Version: 2.3.x Gingerbread? why
the dtv from ki pro for test
http://www.mediafire.com/file/sp9ksxaplamjb7i/DTV_Android_7_date_2017-07-25.apk
is not possible for you to convert a rom android 7 from other box with a same cpu?
Can i install this rom on sd card ?

ROM is 5.1 same as factory firmware. I'm not opposed to looking into updating to 7.x but it is not going to happen this week. Is there a compelling reason or app you have tried that doesn't work? Comment about Gingerbread was a typo when thread was converted to DevDB and has been corrected.

Img is installed with Amlogic Burning Tool but feel free to do with it whatever you like.
i have been looking for an android tv rom for k2 pro for months,i ve found it now and my pc is broken,i think i have to wait untill a twrp version.
I pulled DTV app from new K1/KIII boxes running 7.1 and it will not install. If there is a Marshmallow version I'm happy to try that otherwise the 5.x version will have to suffice.

Can you give me a link to an OTA update or full 6.x ROM? I totally appreciate the desire to have Android 7.x OS it is just a question of how much time one wants to spend.

but the Q-bux have android 6 is same cpu
https://chinagadgetsreviews.com/download-android-marshmallow-6-0-1-firmware-q-box-4k-tv-box.html and test the dtv from kIII s912
or for android 7 the Mecool M8S Pro Plus have almost the same cpu and add the dtv from k1 pro (android 7)

The firmware at the link provided for the QBox is S905x not S905. The Mecool is also S905x. Did any of the "K" DVB Android boxes have Marshmallow firmware? If you could find a link to download an Android 6.x ROM for any of the "K" DVB boxes that would be helpful.

do you add the 3 wifi drivers?
because with the firmware 28/02/2017 it miss a wifi driver for some kii pro they had a different chip to manufacture later
All I did was convert the 28/02/2017. No additional drivers or apps were added. Which firmware had a complete set of WiFi drivers? You can always pull the drivers and add with ES File Explorer.

Need help to port a rom for Redmi Note 4 Sanpdragon

Hi All,
I wanna port a kitkat rom for redmi note 4 but I'm unable to find any rom to port. I am new to rom porting. Can anyone please help me to find a perfect aosp rom of kitkat which suites redmi note 4 mido. I have found a guide to port but can't be able to find port rom. Any help will be appreciated. Sorry for bad english.
First of all, I think you are in the wrong section of the forum. But the mods will take care of this soon. But why do you want to use such and old android version? It is extremely outdated.
On kitkat Device will be in Extreme risk as There will be no new patches(staightfright and blueborne) and kitkat has low performance issue.
Missing Gate-keeper so any app will get permission directly
You can't port a KitKat ROM to our beloved mido as minimum firmware's SDK is of marshmallow.
What u wanna do with kitkat anyway? Oreo isn't good enough,
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
I like aosp roms and I'm currently using lineage os (oreo). I want to install xposed framework which is not yet released. Kitkat is a lite and good version of android. It supports almost all module of xposed. So please guide me to build a stable rom.

Brother , not all module works but on kitkat each and every module works fine. Kitkat is not a bad rom. People dont like because of security reasons and old look. Just guide me i wanna make for myself.
Kitkat is too old. So it's maybe impossible to port

Nobody will 'guide' you through the process of making a rom here. If it were that easy every pajeet in this forum would be making roms everyday. There's a lot that goes in to it.
Why Kitkat? I think it's near impossible to make it happen ;_;
Security issue will broke your phone, maybe
You can't port Lollipop/KitKat or lower version of android on mido, due to incompatibility with the SoC, as the minimum API Level is 23 or Marshmallow. Also, it isn't a computer, you can't install Lollipop or it's previous version of android on mido, just like can you install previous version of Windows/Linux on a computer.

check out the qualcomm website it says the minimum core sdk supported is marshmallow, even though you get a kitkat base there are going to be bugs impossible to fix. Even if it boots, hardware will not be usable, the blobs are not supported by android version. what exactly are you going to do? build the rom from source or just port the blobs?

How did one plus 5T get miui 10 port on Oreo and not our device?

Can this be ported to our device? If not why?
I'm so mad right now
It's so unfair that non-Xiaomi device get MIUI10 Beta port...... and RN4 don't....
I though RN4 have best development comunity but I guess I'm wrong....

Best development or worst community and blame xioame also op5t get miui port from mi6 that is flagship from last year not midranger rn4
Truth is that none of the developers and only a few users actually care about MIUI. We all come to XDA to finally delete MIUI from our phones and install custom ROMs.
Our phone will eventually get MIUI 10 which will still be based on Nougat (Mido) or Marshmallow (Nikel). By the time that happens, we will probably have Android P Beta for our phone.
Why do you people actually still use MIUI?
I don't use miui. But a phone that isn't even from xiaomi got it on the latest android version. This is important
And who would use a beta with the following bugs:
Not let me remove core MIUI app and too many bloatware Chinese app.
Can not change stock browser with third one as default one.
Same with music or video.
Nova launcher not working as it should with some bugs having
Continues issues with WhatsApp app not receiving notifications on time.
No ambient display.

I am talking about how a phone that isn't even from xiaomi got miui 10 on Oreo, while RN4 would get it only on nougat although officially. If miui 10 can be ported on Oreo then it could be done
Those bugs are terrible, but that isnt what the question is for. Ambient display wouldn't matter for our phone though.

Xiaomi simply doesn't update the Android version once the phone is released. That's why people come here in the first place.
What do you guys actually miss about or like about MIUI?
My thought is why do you even care what version android you are on if you use miui? Miui no matter the android base is the same. Miui is not just a skin on android but a massive rework of the entire code giving android 5.x the same features as 8.x. Miui also keeps the android security patch fairly updated.
I live in the US and have used miui ported roms since 2013 on gingerbread devices. Miui has always had better features than stock android and never mattered if you had new or old devices new or old android version if you had 2.2.3 miui you had the same rom features as everyone using 2.2.3.
The best question. If developer can port miui10 , our phone can get any version of miui unofficially. If op5T can get unofficially, RN4x can get also . All in developers hands.

Because Android OS version matters, the os upgrade is not a skin upgrade. Miui skins contains features but it doesn't bring os level support from apps and security upgrades.
5T has MSM8998 and Mi6 has the same processor too.
Redmi Note 4(Qualcomm) has MSM8953.
Im working on an MIUI Oreo port from Redmi S2 but im very busy these days so its moving a bit slowly. Ive booted the leaked one from Redmi 5 Plus so i think i can boot the S2 one too.
I personally wanna wait Redmi 5 Plus to update
Ill probably not release it but who knows...

i feel pretty confident that xiaomi will give miui 10 based on oreo 8.1 . Look at all those **** tonne of xiaomi phones with snapdragon 625. Heck they launched redmi y2 (redmi s2) in india which has miui 10 on oreo 8.1 .So it's a pretty big chance that redmi note 4 will get official oreo, and even redmi 5 plus

The modded MIUI 10 for OnePlus which was posted here is based on Oreo 8.0.
And if Xiaomi updated their old phones with new Android versions, people would be less likely to buy new ones.
I'd love to see a MIUI 10 ported ROM on Oreo.

huh xiaomi's been using the sd 625 for abt 2.5 years now. idk how long they will keep using it. there's no point of upgrading a xiaomi to another xiaomi if u won't go for the higher segment.

I just have to compile now a Lineage 15.1 kernel with few flag changes to match MIUI requirements(Compile stuff as modules). Finding a non-treble source is difficult :b.

Mediatek dont release their code. so Lollipop is last update for rn3 mtk.
Redmi note 3 kenzo was released on android 5. Now its on android 9.
Much like every other MTK device, you're best to stick with official OS. Most custom ROMs will be semi-working at best.
