Hi,
I am running Temaseks CM11 on my S3. Currently v12. I have not flashed another kernel.
This is an awesome ROM but I have one issue with notifications. I do not get notifications for certain apps (mostly games). I have always had this issue on this ROM (v8, v10, v12) but not on the original Samsung ROM. I would have posted this question in the official thread of this ROM but I am a new user so I am not allowed....
Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? I have of course checked that each app I want notifications from have that enabled, both in the app and also in the app manager.

What types of games do you mean and why do you need those notification? Many people try to get rid of games notification but you are asking why its not giving the notification.. Anyways, can you please tell what kind of notifications you are not getting ??

I hope people want the ability to chose themselfes to use/not use notifications
Anyways, an example i noticed is in a swedish game called QuizKampen where I compete with friends in various questions. When my opponent has answered and is waiting on my turn, the game should notify me. However I do not receive these anymore...
This is not a dealbreaker for the ROM (I Love it! ) But it would be nice to find out why these are not working.
Also, thanks for your attention and assistance!! I appreciate it!

I think getting such notifications are nowdays disabled(m not sure) but i will try to ask this question from your side to the rom developer, i m quite busy now so i will post it later.. and do you get this problem with only temasek's cm11 or on other Rom too?

i thought u got these errors on other roms too.. well let me explain about this problem.. this is an unofficial built which has not yet completely been bug free, there are lots of other issues too. since cm11 is not yet official(only source code is available) and lots of Devs are trying to fix lots of issues. until now only the android kk 4.4 and cm code has been merged and fixing all the issues thats not normal, so its worth not to ask the questions to them now that this and that is not working. also temasek is building this unofficial built by himself, he is solving the greater issues himself and also adding some new features, and i m sure this problem will be soon fixed by someone. anyway i will try to point him this issue.

Thanks for the info! I now that there of course is bugs etc in these builds but I also thought that the developer would like to know this issues. Of course it could be a feature and not a bug in this case but I hope not...
Anyways thanks for assisting me with informing him about this!

THANKS!
I got a tip in temasek's thread about that the issue was in titanium backup so I cleared the data in the app and then removed and reinstalled it. Now I receive notifications again! It was quite weird since I have tried reinstalled the app earlier without success...
Anyways, thanks for your assistance!

Disable restricting Android API to get recent tasks in Lollipop and newer. This restriction causes that some apps (e.g. Greenify) don't work as they should, since Android now returns nothing or useless info when they want to get recent tasks. This module should fix it as it was before.

Imho the app developers should update their apps. There are new permissions like PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS. I checked wiht an M emulator my apps (non-xposed & non-root apps) TaskManager and KeepRunning and they still work without this module

Is that a yes or no?
PackageUsageStats is not same as getRecentTasks. I doubt you can get same info from PUS as in getRecentTasks in pre-LP.
Hi,
May I ask what you mean by giving the example of Greenify? What exactly is the shortcoming with Greenify in L in contrast to pre-L?
I was following their change logs and it seems to me that there is nothing Greenify nowadays couldn't do in L. What am I missing?
I am just asking, because I am not sure why and whether I should install this module as a Greenify (beta) user.
Wouldn't it be easier to introduce your fix in their own code?
Modify module to work for only one app?
I'm wondering how I could modify this module to make it so that it only works for one particular app (Last App Switcher). I like the idea of Android preventing third party apps from getting my recent app details, but I also miss using LAS.
I'm thinking that in the call to XposedBridge.hookAllMethods() I could replace the third argument XC_MethodReplacement.returnConstant(true) with a instance of XC_MethodHook that checks the calling app's package name and if it matches the package I want to target (com.abhi.lastappswitcher) then it would return true, otherwise it would call the standard Android isGetTasksAllowed function normally. I've never done any Xposed development though so I'm not sure I'm going about it the right way.
Hi @pyler,
Is this module still needed in Android M for apps like Greenify?
Thanks
Phil

Needed for Marshmallow? Thx
Sent from my lightning fast SM-G930F (S7)
No, since many devs already use new APIs.. If you have old app, not updated for LP/MM, this maybe needed for full app functionality.
A fantastic module, some apps still require this to work, an app from myself for myself for example: RAMTool https://tiziocaio.store.aptoide.com/app/market/com.thepriest.andrea.ramtool/1422/22796519/RAM+Tool
Since my app analyzes recent and running apps and on a regular interval, I fear that using UsageStatsManager will degrade performance, I am afraid that the cpu will be more stressed.
Rewriting my code to get worse perfornce than before doesn't make me happy ...that's probably the reason i hadn't yet wrote it.
Are my fears unfounded?
First nightly today!

So far everything seems to be working - here is what i have tested:
- Wifi Works - really good speed
- Call is clear - had 2hr phone call with multiple people
- Data is good
- Tethering works
- Batterylife is ok so far - Android system is draining a bit more than I'd like it to
- Titanium will occasionally force close but not sure if that's TB fault or ROM
-Fingerprint works
- It is really quick - I mean really quick!
Here is where I had some trouble:
- During the setup wizard the phone would want to restore from another phone without the option of setting up fresh. The way
I went around it is to turn off data and wifi and skip that part and just continue and then set up all the accounts once I was on the launcher.
Not sure if anybody else has had the same issue.
Finally no CM Themes - but we all know about that

Do not flash any custom kernel... Do not flash any pixel zips as it will bootloop..... First boot might seem to be bootlooping but a restart after the lag in boot animation seemed to fix the problem.

Theres a ton of reasons for that, but eventually a maintainer usually opens up a thread on the first days of releases.
We do have an unofficial release thread but, I guess some maintainer might eventually show up and post it
good news indeed.
waiting for the custom roms to update !
i didnt know that they were waiting for official cm tree?
do the devs. actually use the CM official build sources to build their custom roms? (sorry noobish question.)
edit: i shall wait until they implement the cm theme engine .
It's been a few years since I ran CM. Question one, is SU included or does it get flashed in addition, two, what vendor ( I assume 10C from 7.1.1) or is that included as well?
Thanks.

The Themes option is currently unavailable but I am sure it will be added to upcoming builds.
I don't think there is a ROM out (CM14.1) that has it implemented as CM have only just released official nightlies

Oh I was worried. Theming and root are the two options that I miss from my 7.1.1. Next week I will try the ROM. I'm a little concerned about the battery drain but I hope that it will be better than stock 7.0.
Anyone tried adaway on this ROM yet? I tried with and without systemless root .zip it fails each time.
Currently:
Android version 6.0.1
Model: XT1650-02
Build Number MCLS24.246-36-3
I'm one of many people experiencing issues with the Moto Z (Force) move to Nougat. In doing so, I have choppy audio, tinny sound, popping and crackling as well. When contacting Verizon, they claim that nobody else is complaining about this to a point where their company is notifying its CS reps with a resolution. When contacting Lenovo/Motorola, they claim that they've received a ton of complaints since the Nougat release, and suggested that I bring the phone back for a swap since I had only just purchased it. I did just that, and followed their additional instruction for not updating to Nougat. The only problem is that the freakin thing downloads automatically while on wifi within a day and no way to prevent it that I know of. Now I have this aggressive attempt of the OTA management to get me to start the process. I don't want to, but neither do I want to manage having to ignore this update every day, nor do I want to accidentally initiate the process. I'm looking for a bit of help.
I thought that if I disabled the Motorola OTA service that it wouldn't push. But it did push even though I stopped the service under developer options. And even now that it pushed, I hoped not to get the message, but there it is. And since I don't want to root yet, I can't clear the space in cache where the update is to prevent it from updating accidentally. I'm looking for the names of any other Moto services that might be related to the OTA that I can disable to prevent this from happening. I don't mind factory defaulting my phone and starting over to clear their cache, but once the update actually executes, I'm hosed with crappy audio again. My wife has the same phone and we have one day to get her a new one for free within our return period. We like the phone, do not want to get a different brand, and hope that we can find a solution to this. Again, I want to do this without rooting.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I myself greenified the app called "Motorola-Updateservices", package name is com.motorola.ccc.ota, apk name is 3c_ota.apk
Since then I never had another notification that nougat is available and I didn't search for updates either of course.

About to download and try it out. If it works, I'll be back in a couple days to report. If it doesn't, I'll be back sooner. Thank you for the suggestion.
Also, if you can provide any specific configurations to manage the OTA, I'm at your disposal.
SuD
PS I won't be searching for updates either, but I will be bugging Lenovo/Motorola to find out when the bug is fixed.
I'm rooted, have xposed and the donation version of the app.
As the OTA app is a system app you can't greenify it without having xposed installed and the donation package of Greenify.
Try to just disable the app with the normal app manager.

It worked on 6.01 but no longer on 7.0. If you debloat on 6.01 and take the OTA to 7.0 everything you've debloated stays that way unless you do a factory reset.
for some reason google took away the ability to use the adb commands in 7.0
Almost like they want us to be stuck with bloat lol.

I just tried it and I get some permission error. So it seems after the Dec patch it no longer works on '6.
I have Moto Z Play -1.
any suggestions for someone who might have accidentally downloaded the system update, but hasn't installed it yet? It makes me nervous, having that "new system software is downloaded and ready to install" message b/c I know one day I'll probably accidentally click on it and there won't be a way to go back.
I am a Z play owner.
By installing Z (not play) apps I believe I have disabled the OTA. But I have no nagging update to test it's functionality on.
To my point, if this does work then the reverse should work also.
I will up my apps if anyone want to try it.

Most basic and background apps like in Pixel Phones, Pixel Launcher, Phone, Messaging and Play Store AFAIK. Others you can easily get from Play Store.
Thanks a ton for this ROM. Most of the things are working fine as of I experienced.
Though Three things which were not working on my device were
1. Camera( known bug )
2. USB Tethering
3. Hotspot
I have attached logs. Maybe it would be useful.
Thanks

Any changelog would be appreciated @YumeMichi
The first build definitely would have been my new daily if not for the camera issue.

Battery Backup
Can anyone tell me about its battery life (SOT). Which one is good for battery life, LOS 15/16 or PE 9.0?
Camera is working in last release, but doesn't saves photos on external sdcard.
Nevertheless, I think it's a promising start, the system runs smooth and almost everything is working.
Bugs detected:
- Dark mode doesn't work
- Advanced reboot neither
- Camera doesn't save to external sdcard
- App drawer from Pixel Launcher is really lagged
- Hotspot doesn't work neither
Thanks so much to keep OPX alive!!!
