I have tried stock ROMs, 4.4.2 or 5.0.1. Both can switch from CDMA and GSM smoothly (GSM is unlocked). However, when I tried AOSP ROMs, even after flashing the GSM netwrk patch here, it won't work well. The interface of switching network mode is absent. Looks like AOSP has to stay in one mode exclusively.. there is no way to switch between them. Am I right or just hasn't tried the correct ROM? If you know such AOSP, please let me know.

Hi guys, faced a really weird issue while flashing custom roms. I tried 3 roms over here, namely the chocolate eclair, froyo sense extended and RCMix22B WWE.
For all of these 3, I could no longer access the 3G/HSDPA network. Anyone faced such issues or have any idea to fix it?
I tried *#*#4636#*#* and put WCDMA preferred but still unable to get through the ping test. Did a nandroid restore and 3G is working again.

What network you on? Custom rom developers can't possibly hope to put every apn across the globe in their roms, so you may need to enter it manually.

Hello, i want to know which roms i could use the gsm network without any problem in my xt912 from verizon i live outside US. I want the smoothest rom for my razr and aparently CM and aokp are good ones but i'm afraid i couldn't use gsm, i'd like to ask in every post from cm or aokp but i'm not allowed yet to post in development stuff. anyway can you tell me your opinion the smoothest rom , i don't care if is based stock rom or not. Right now im on rage rom is the best one but in the last update is killing my device draining battery and sooo slow and i'd like to try something else and cm or aokp i'd like to try those interesting features.

I live in Ukraine and use xt912 for gsm now. I tried a lot of roms, but all cm/aokp based: aokp, liquidsmooth, carbon, pacman. I tried last releases and/or nightly builds and everywhere gsm wasn't working...:silly:
As for now LS 2.5 is the most of what you can get. And if u'r gsm won't work consider reading this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40420669&postcount=339
This helped me to enable gsm on LS.
All stock based ROMs work for gsm mode. If you need it on AOSP/AOKP based ROMs, see the fix posted above ir you may flash a gsm fix patch.

Hi Guys.
I have installed a new ROM on my phone (Asced G300), the PAC ROM....sometimes it disconnectfrom the network and the no service message appaear and i can not establish a connection with the network until i reboot the phone.
Is this a bug of this ROM or i am missing some setting? This is the 5th time that i am installing a ROM and i`m very tired of this game...
Could be a bug of the rom. I know it's probably difficult to get stable non stock based roms for your phone. You might want to check with the developers of the rom to see if there's preferred settings or another modem to use that might work better with it.
I'm looking for help selecting a ROM that is stable. I've flashed about a half dozen ROMS over the past few months and seem to have to switch because of bugs. Maybe it's because I get whatever is the newest. But I only have three requirements:
STABLE
NFC/Isis/Softcard compatible (even via mod)
Like S5 apps/styling
I really like being able to so *#0011# to see if I'm in AWS mode, but isn't required. I can't seem to do it with AOSP ROMS

Chaos ROM has an S5 theme...
Most stable ROM I've seen is Eclipse though.
If you want stability and s5 features with NFC, go for hyperdrive, its also customizable. If you want a aosp ROM, do eclipse. Those are prob the best Roms for the s4
Flashed Blisspop 7/28 coming from Skydragon 4.0. I can no longer connect to LTE only 3G. Tried flashing different Modems and even went back to a nandroid backup and still no LTE. Any thoughts ideas on how to fix?

I'm having the same issue! I was on Skydragon 4.0 and switched to another ROM, don't remember which one; one of the CM based ones.... they're all the same just with a different name. After wiping system/data/cache/dalvik and then restoring my Skydragon 4.0 backup in TWRP I still cannot get 4G back. I've tried switching from "Global" / "LTE/CDMA" / "LTE/GSM/UMTS", rebooting, toggling airplane mode on and off in about every combination I can think of w/out any luck.
I'm wondering if re-flashing the 23C (VS985 23C) modem would fix it....? Or else trying to dirty flash Skydragon 4.0.
I want to get rid of my G3 just because development is a real let down... Liquid was the only AOSP ROM I ever found and it's been dead on this device for a long time, Skydragon is good but looks like development on it has stopped as well. ...and I cannot stand CM, nor the 100 CM based ROMs for the G3 that are all exactly the same except the name and that they all claim to be better than the others.....but they not.
Does anyone know how to get to the "Phone Info" screen/setting?
Edit: On SD 4.0.0/5.0.0. I tried using the "4G LTE Switch" app and it errors out and says "This application does not work on this device". It will work on a non stock based ROM, such as on of the 100 CM based ones.
If anyone knows of a good AOSP based ROM for the VS985 that is built from AOSP 5.1.x I'd love to be using that over any stock or especially CM based ROM.
