Hi.
Just wondering how Google Now works on this phone. In the past I could just pull the home button if its on screen or hold the home button. On this phone I'm not too sure.
Thanks
google now launcher and swipe left, or enable navigation bar on screen
Both of those would work but I don't wish to install Google lagging launcher. All you need is the Google app and then go into settings and enable the '' Ok Google function. In my case I enabled it on all screens. Works fine.

Hi guys
just checking if anyone knows whether there exists a stand alone app that can be used to simulate the soft back key or the home key in the Android navigation bar? I am not refer to those virtual back button apps.
I am asking because the LG V10 does not have hardware keys but it has a secondary screen, I can put such Back Button App on the second screen and disable the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (LG V10 can hide the navigation bar).
I know there is an app for Samsung Edge phone to support the back/home button on the Edge's second screen. unfortunately, that app is only for Edge phone.
I know in the Play store, there are many virtual back button apps. All of them will put a virtual button some where on the screen. that is not ideal for my purpose.
Please let me know if anyone knows or can develop one.
Thanks
Try LMT launcher. You can set up your own configuration and it doesn't block your screen at all - swipe from any portion you set up.

Thanks for the suggestion, I installed the Pie Control from Google Play store as the LTM launcher is not there.
The Pie Control serves the purpose well. awesome!
Thanks!
I hide mine, enabled when using the launcher, when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen it shows and you can use the virtual buttons. I prefer that over the other options.

I'm looking for this too. I installed MyHomeButton from the play store and was able to put a home and recent softkey on my second screen, but now I still need a back button.

All in one gestures on the playstore allows you to create a back soft key that you can add to the second screen.
really need a back button and home button.
I think they should have put a home button right where the big LG symbol is on the bottom of the phone.
@Amd4life Exactly! Why not use that extra hardware space to put in extra buttons? Home, back, recent apps, shortcut key...
Hi, I'm trying to simulate a long press of the home button in order to launch 'Google now on tap' as my phone (elephone p9000, stock 6.0, rooted) has got rid of the navigation bar in favour of a single capacitive button, which uses the long press function to launch recent apps instead of Google now on tap and I can't find any other way to launch this service. You can bring the navigation bar back but this interferes with other functionality I have set up now. Can anyone please tell me either an app that can run a script to simulate the home key long press or alternatively another way to create a shortcut to launch Google now on tap as right now I'm having to go into settings reactivate the navigation bar, long press home and then deactivate it after. Not exactly streamlined! Thanks for any advice.
Would be great to be able to assign Google now on tap to the fast access Button on the left. I miss it myself and dont want to use one Screen Navigation.

There's actually 2 very straightforward ways of doing this, one of which is I thought I'd tried but obviously not very well. You can launch the Now on Tap feature by assigning it to a gesture in either LMT pie control or another 3rd party app called All In 1 Gestures. If this isn't clear just ask.
Anybody figured this? What would the shortcut show up as using a third party app. I can see Google but how would you access Google now on tap? Doesn't show up as a shortcut.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the action of pressing the physical home key when on the home screen? Currently it goes to google now, but I would like to configure it to go to app drawer since I already have google mapped to double tap and google assistant mapped to hold.
I'm on XenonHD 7.1 and open to any suggestions!
Cheers
A lot of launchers like Nova let you decide what pressing the home button will do while on the homescreen. By default for most it's the "edit" screen where you can add pages and change your wallpaper and whatnot.
See here: http://i.imgur.com/4qNoBNM.png
You can also remake the Pixel launcher in it as well now.
I'm using Nova already! completely missed that option! thank you!
Hi,
I need some advice.
Having the google assistant launcher assigned to the home button is extremely annoying on the Honor 7 phone, as one is using the home button very frequently. I found that in the settings/apps/advanced /default app settings/ assistance & voice/Assist app it is possible to assign "none" for tor "default assist app".
By this, pressing the home button will not launch google assist. Which is fine, however, after a few days, my phone "forgets" this settings and again home button activates google assist.
I have to turn off again and again every few days.
Do anyone know how to turn this off permanently?
Phone has EMUI 4.0.3
Android 6
Thanks.
I disabled the Bixby button a while back, I "think" I used the setting within Bixby and I'd like to re-enable the button so I can remap it. Problem is, I can't figure out how to do it. The only app I have in the app drawer is Bixby Vision. TIA.
Enable Bixby Home in the launcher settings, then swipe to the left most screen to get into it. You should be able to access settings from there.

What "launcher settings"?
Edit: Thank you! I figured I needed to temporarily go back to the standard launcher instead of Nova and it worked.
