Device
The device itself is very much the same as my Tronfi MXiv apart from the Tronfi having the bigger storage space of 16GB but for anyone not needing the bigger space the MXiii G should be worth conciddering as the S812 device's really do do every task at a great speed.
It comes with two launchers installed, The launcher3 (standered android launcher) & the media
box launcher.

Games
Iv tested beach buggy blitz with graphics set to high it played perfect as expected

Tronsmart Mars G01 game pad works
The MXiii G gets warm but not hot so i dont think modding the box is required as you can see from the photos there is lots of venterlation holes on the bottom to help draw in the cooler air & some side vent slots for the hot air to escape.
Protective circuit design
Another cool feature is the the device comes with is (Protective circuit design) it will save the device if you use the wrong power adapter.(lets hope no one will ever need to see if it works)

I recently purchased a Matricom Gbox Q and it was ok. Weren't any custom ROMs I could find for it. I have also worked with the MXQ with the S805 quad core. I'm just getting into these boxes. Once you figure them out they're pretty nifty. Let me know if there's any custom ROM development for this one. Thanks.
Update: Had mine for about a week. It's actually pretty freaking awesome. Way better than the Matricom Gbox Q. Much faster, no streaming issues. Great box.

Hi there,
thanks for the review, but I have one question.
in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY0f4o6pmBA the person is unboxing the S802 device (at least that what he says) and on the box there's an H.265 HEVC codec support. is this right or does the person doing the video has the S812 device?
the reason i'm asking it, is the price difference, the S812 costs about £70 while the S802 costs £39.
thanks

was the flashing hard to do, can it be done without rooting the device first and is the rooting process easy?
thanks
Pretty easy. A quick run down. No root needed.
1: Install USB Burning tool
2: Plug in mini usb cable to box/pc
3: Hold the tiny pin button while powering the box on (this puts in in flash mode)
4: Click a couple buttons in the app, wait a few minutes and presto.
Is it better to flash Stock Fw 316k4 Android 4.4 kitkat and then Android 5 lollipop Beta FW MXIII-G(S812+1/2G+GigaEthernet), or i can flash Android 5 lollipop directly?
Can I use my skype in order to make video calls?
I've connected my webcam but there was no option to make a video call on it and every time I've picked to make a video call, the app crashed.
Is there something I'm missing in the configuration?
thx, Ice
is the Lollipop beta stable enough? Or should I stick with KitKat?
Hello!
I have installed Lollipop firmware on mine and have added a new remote.conf in order to have more buttons working with a Logitech Harmony remote.
But now, I would like to root the ROM by installing TWRP.
I have copied the recovery at the root level of a µSDcard and rename it 'recovery.img' and try to reboot the box but no chance to boot in TWRP :??:
Is something special to do to get working the recovery?
Even the command 'adb reboot recovery' is not working
Many thanks in advance!
Edit: I have tried to adb shell the box and tried the command 'dd if=/path-to-recovery/recovery.img of=/dev/block/recovery' but no luck...

I 'm sorry but i can't help you...but i would like to know if Lollipop is ok on this android Box.
Can you tell me something about it?
Thank you very much
This ROM is very good!
I don't have any issue with it and the new launcher is more wise.
The only problem is this ROM is not prerooted and I can't install TWRP... I only see the default recovery (3e)

please let me know ; Why to install TWRP? which benefit you take?
thanks and sorry for the questions from noob .
No problems
I would like to install TWRP to root the Lollipop ROM.
Because I can't get working the root by using the default recovery.
And I want root to add the ability to Kodi to shutdown the box directly with its interface.
For this you can tell me: why not using the "PowerToggle" button of the remote?
Because I use an Harmony Universal Remote and I would like to have the "Play/Pause/Stop" buttons to work, and with the logitech MXIII-G profile, these buttons don't exist (obviously also on the default remote).
So I have added a modified file 'remote.conf' in the box with these features, but this file don't have a "PowerToggle" button

I see that many people is interested in Android boxes lately, so because of that I want to share my thoughts of Rikomagic MK68 which is newest media player from this company. For me this device is good choice because it is not too expensive and at the same time it offers good hardware and very good software optimization.
The Rikomagic MK68 is based on 64-bit SoC Octa-core CPU RK3368 with the maximum speed 1.5 GHz. It has also 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory, if you need more space than you can upgrade it with memory card maximum 32 GB where the GPU is PowerVR G6110. As you can see it has enough strong hardware for any activity.
Many people bought or is interesting in these kind of devices mostly because of KODI. Because these application offers many useful features for watching movies. I've watched several movies in HD and some in SD quality and I can freely say that everything worked perfectly normal. Talking about software or to be precise OS, the Rikomagic MK68 comes with Android 5.1.1 which does not have any unwanted software. So this is good because you don't need to spend your time for deleting trash.
It has 3 x USB ports where the one USB port is for OTG function, but it has also 1 x HDMI port, 1 x optical output, 1 x microSD and 1 x LAN port. LAN supports 10/100/1000M connectivity where the WIFI supports 2.4GHz / 5GHz dual band. So you can see that you have two available choices in which you can choose how you will connect your box to your home network.
Until now I did not find any problems during use so I am very satisfied with this Android box, for more information you can visit their official website. Also for benchmark test, pictures you can go to the site: Rikomagic MK68
very good android box in general, but the only problem i found its relative to mac adress, always changing on every single boot. very weird seems like a firmware bug
Hello there ya'll.
Last year I purchased an Android TV Box KT-609 from Vision Electronics here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. IMO, it's been a great box to me. It's nothing fancy, with very little bells and whistles but it does the job. I have been doing some research though on how to upgrade this box's firmware or even upgrade the KitKat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.1 OS system. Sadly I've been unsuccessful as this box may not be very popular. Below is a picture of the box and the link. I'll also share the information from the Visions website as I can't seem to find a manufacturer's website. If anyone out there knows which manufacture this is and their website address, it would be more than greatly appreciated. Even a link on how to upgrade OS. I look forward to being a part of this community.
Glock.
P.S. Because I'm a new user, it won't allow me to post a link to Visions Electronics so... it's Visions dot ca and search Android TV box KT-609
I can't even post a picture yet either so.... maybe a MOD can be kind and enter a link and or picture on my behalf until I earn my stripes. Thanks.

Hello XDA forum! I would like to buy the Artizlee ATL-21X tablet for a number of reasons, mostly the low price and the performances I need (basically a PDF/epub reader with some other lightweight capabilites, no other great expectations, no phone included since I have it already).
Yet I am used to root all the Android devices I have to get rid of all the bloats and to install some utilities that require the root state.
So, before I spend those few euros, I was asking you if that table is rootable or not. Here are the specs...

Hello everybody!
I have a strange thing going on here.
Apps like ROOT CHECKER and MALWAREBYTES say that my tablet is actually rooted yet I cannot install SUPERSU and cannot use apps like TITANIUM BACKUP properly.
anyone knows what's going on here??
Nah, don't worry!
CASE CLOSED! The chinese tablet is properly rooted now, with busybox, TWRP and all the root apps are working fine! Yeah, I'm getting good at it!

can u share how?
TBH I downloaded KingRoot V5.3.0.437 and it made the trick.
The only problem I have is about SuperSU: it keeps say that "SU Binary occupied".
Root Checker Basic confirms that the device is rooted.
All the applications that require a rooted device work perfectly (Titanium Backup, SD Maiden, Root Booster, Xposed Installer, Quick Reboot etc. etc.)
Too bad I don't remember where I have downloaded KingRoot. A lot of links are clogged with suspicious requests and looks-like-phishing links so it has been hard to find the working one...
Hello all,
first of i want to thank you all for the great work, XDA was and is my biggest source of Android information.
Now for my request. But first some background info.
Recently my company has put up for sale some old hardware from which i have chose an HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF (price 30 euro) with the following specs:
-Intel i5-3570 3,40GHz (4 cores)
-4GB DDR3
-no HDD but either i will use an USB 3.0 32gb drive or buy a small HDD or SSD
-there is no graphic card but it has an integrated Intel HD 2500 with HDMI port.
At home i have an old 46in Panasonic Smart TV wich is too old for current technology but is still Full HD 30 fps and its SLiM (considering its age).
Considering this i took this opportunity to get an desktop PC to ad it to the TV (already have a hidden space under the TV table so it does not show.
Now you might be asking why i haven't opted for a Chromecast or something similar. Reason is i trust more PC hardware and i am more familiar with it also i can add and remove hardware for upgrade as i please.
My request is if you can suggest me an Android OS to install onto it.
I plan to use it for mostly Netflix and YouTube and some controller specific games like Asphalt 9 or some older/emulated games.
The PC specs are good for the almost free price, i am also familiar with the PC since i worked on same model for some years so the performance is right.
The reason of why i want Android is that unfortunately i have no cable internet so i am limited to data, fortunately i have data plan with free YouTube/Netflix
Thank you for listening to my ramblings.
Kind regards,
Redbloodedrose.
