So, yesterday I rooted my LG G3 (ZVE version) and then installed TWRP and then flashed Xposed. Everything seemed fine but after rebooting, I got the dreaded "Security Error". Due to an excellent walkthrough here on XDA, I was able to fix it (at 2 in the morning.....grrrrr) and now I am back at having a rooted ZVE version but with no TWRP or Xposed.
So, can I just temporarily boot into TWRP (fastboot boot twrp.img) and then use that to flash Xposed? If so, which version of Xposed do I flash for this phone? Will that avoid the "Security Error" screen?
Basically, I just need help getting Xposed installed. I don't necessarily need (or really want) to permanently install TWRP (although if I have to I could)...just interested in getting Xposed installed.
Thanks!
No help on this? Is it not possible (or just too convuluted)?

I tried a pretty regular method of installing TWRP and then Xposed, but I had that security error which was a huge pain to have to fix....hopefully somebody chimes in.

hi, i recived the 6.0 update OTA today
my phone was on 5.0.2, bootloader unlocked, supersu rooted
using supersu option i removed the root, this to be able to install OTA (leaving supersu result in "update error")
updated to 6.0 succesfully
downloaded lastest stable supersu v2.65
downloaded twrp-surnia-3.0.2-r1
booted twrp without flashing (i don't want to install twrp) do this way in 5.0 and 5.0.2 adn worked
flashed supersu
phone stay at "warning screen"
to restore the phone i downoaded the 6.0 zip and flasched back the "sparsechunk.x" files
how to get the root back again in 6.0??
thanks.
exactly the same here, even with supesu 2.71 beta
You have to install the superSU v2.62-3 (it installs systemless mode) OR in the terminal of the TWRP enter "echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu" (without the quotes) and then flash the version you want, in order to force the systemless install. I still recommend just use v2.62-3.
Supersu zip v2.62-3 and try: http://download.chainfire.eu/751/Sup...1211162651.zip
thinks @basili
I finally managed
That worked for me too
how
thanks it worked fo rme too
simply install TWRP 3.0.2r1 then supersu.2.62.3
I have a question. I installed the SuperSU 2.62.3 like its recommended in post #3, but Google Play shows that there is an update. Can I update it safely now?
i have my bootloader unlocked and everything ive followed every detail and it said flashed recovery was successful but how do i access twrp im only getting stock recovery plz any advice will be greatly appreciated thx in advance for your help
I recently upgraded to Nougat 7.1.1 from Marshmallow via Flashfire. I flashed the factory image because it did not automatically recognize the downloaded OTA, and I was concerned that I'd have to go through several incremental OTA upgrades to get where I wanted. I told it to leave my recovery alone (was using TWRP 2.8.6.0 with no problems) and Flashfire went OK. My tablet updated fine, SuperSU 2.82 SR4 (systemless) root was installed, Root Checker says device is rooted and device is reporting in regular recovery that bootloader as unlocked. When I boot into custom recovery, TWRP is still asking for a password (easily bypassed by hitting Cancel), shows none of the file partitions I want, and on reboot system says my "device does not appear to be rooted, install SuperSU now?". I press "Do Not Install" and the tablet boots OK and Root Checker STILL reports the device as being rooted! SuperSU, Titanium, stickmount, etc. all work fine as well.
Are there some settings in TWRP that I need to change? Do I need to upgrade TWRP to 3.1.1.0 flounder? Is it because "Enable OEM unlocking" in Developer Options is off? I looked like crazy last night and can't find a solution . PLEASE HELP!
You will need the latest TWRP to be able to decrypted your device.
Ignore the message from the old version of TWRP about root, it is not detecting the latest root method(systemless).
As for "Enable OEM unlocking" I would advise to enable it, in case of future problems. Is your bootloader unlocked?
Also this months factory image is probably the last version for the device (we might get one more to patch KRACK).
Have you consider backing up apps and switching to a custom rom?

Why is the latest TWRP (3.1.1.0) have "flounder" in it? I thought the Nexus 9 was "volantis". Can I install this latest TWRP image on my tablet without bricking it? Oh, and I can't flash a custom ROM until I get this TWRP crap figured out. Sideloading is not my bag .

flounder is just another code name for the device.
You can flash the latest TWRP with fastboot or Install an image from your old TWRP.
Changing TWRP version should not cause a bootloop/bricking.

Hi guys,
so few days ago i tried to root my new honor 9 , i followed this guide https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/magisk-101-install-magisk-root-with-twrp-0179668/ , unlocked bootloader, installed twrp and stuff. But It seems like i've missed some part, I don't know where tho because when I try to flash magisk then boot my phone and install the apk i have the Fix SafetyNet 'CTS Profile' & 'Basic Integrity' Errors with Magisk...I then read this https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/magisk-101-fix-safetynet-cts-profile-mismatch-errors-0178047/ but none of the solution here worked (most of them are related to supersu which i never installed to my phone so). Also magisk doesnt seem to installed properly, since i always have the "install button". I tried to redo the last step (uninstall magisk then reinstall it) and some factory reset but still the same problem.
What should I do please? I ask here because I don't want to mess up anymore.
Also, I even tried to reinstall the stock rom with this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73334439&postcount=1 but as soon asI open the bat file, it disapear. So i don't know what to do anymore...
Thank you.

Hey I just picked up this phone and decided I would like to maximize it to its fullest potential, and root it as I have done with previous phones. This ones giving me a hard time, and I just can't seem to find the proper info for it.
I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP 3.1.1 and want to gain root access. I have followed several guides, used every possible one-click unsuccessfully, and tried installing SuperSU with TWRP. After I reboot, SuperSU is installed. I'll open it up and it tells me the binaries are occupied. I've tried downgrading and updating the binaries but I get errors. (I believe this is because it must be rooted first - of course.)
So I'm stuck unable to get any further. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Is this phone with this configuration unrootable? There must be a way if I have recovery right?
Asus Zenfone 4 Z01KD/ZE554KL
Android Nougat 7.1.1 - 14.1060.1708.63 (NOT 1708.70)
TWRP 3.1.1 installed
One thing I have not tried is using Magisk. When I try it, it stops because I already patched with SuperSU (even though it failed). I never backed up before I did it with SuperSU I really thought it would work.
I read of people doing it with Magisk after updating to Oreo. I want to give that a try but I can't OTA or flash from TWRP. All attempts result in error 7.
I can't find a stock recovery to flash to do the update either. Is there a way to undo this, OTA and repatch with Magisk? Even if I don't bother updating, I would like to find a stock image to flash so I can try patching with Magisk.
Stock rom recovery.img anywhere? Am I alone?
i dont own this device but i read this and it might apply to you. also did you flash the supersu uninstaller and them try magisk?
