Yes, recoveries are not carrier dependant. That's great to be getting official support from another great dev for this phone.

Yes, it works.
Hmm. And you don't need to unlock your bootloader to flash this, do you?
Edit: im wondering if I could just flash this, install super su through it, and root my phone that way (without unlocking the bootloader).

You must have an unlocked bootloader. Otherwise there would be no reason to ever complain about not having an unlocked bootloader. There would be no reason for root exploits or safestrap.

Its the official so I'd assume it's stable. I haven't been able to fastboot it in yet.
Flashed it through the TWRP manager app all seems fine and OTG does work. 2.8.0.1 from 2.7.1.1
OK... I flashed it... Everything looks fine... I'm gonna play with it a little more! [emoji6]
Been stable for me so far.
Update:
Made a back up
Flashed a aosp ROM
Restored my back up of eclipse.
Everything worked perfect with 2.8.0.1
Does anyone else notice that since version 2.7.1.1 and even this new 2.8.0.1 it seems to take a long time for the recovery to load? It seems to hang on the TWRP boot image for about 30 to 45 seconds before it loads the recovery. This was never the case on the old 2.6 versions for me.

It should be the same routine for the OPX as all of those devices then.
Just to be sure, you're doing it this way (step 5)?
Make sure that your bootloader is unlocked first, or it won't flash (step 2).
Also, make sure that when you use the command "fastboot flash recovery xxx.img" that "xxx.img" is identical to the name of the img file you have placed in your sdk tools folder.

Should be...key word. Guys I've tried it over and over again. All different ways to boot recovery after...different places downloading the file...different way installing (fastboot and flashify).
Only weird thing is that "fastboot oem device-info"
Says tampered is false
Unlocked is true
Does just unlocking bootloader usually trip the tampered flag?
So you're sure that you've enabled OEM unlocking in the developer options??

yes of course...Ive been through the process with the op2.
all drivers installed correctly, got rsa key, unlocked bootloader...one thing is that the confirmation bootloader unlocking screen was in chinese, but I chose the top option to confirm.
Same Issue
I'm having the exact same problem and would love to know a fix as well. My device is also unlocked by the tamper flag was not set off. I'm having the same problem of not being able to load TWRP onto the phone as well.
im guessing maybe because there isnt an official twrp for this phone.
There is only a custom and I know the internals are the same, but I think there are some kind of differences from phone to phone from region to region.

Hello,
I believe there is an official twrp. I did a search and found that you were already involved in that thread by @CafeKampuchia using the TWRP (onyx version) by @h2064
That was the initial recovery I had before I flash to the f2fs version by @eng.stk.

That isn't for the Z4 Tablet. pollux_windy is Z Tablet, as stated on that page. You'll need a build for karin_windy.
Look around in the Z4 Tablet Android Development subforum, there's a CM13 build and some more

I unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP, AndroPlusKernel and SuperSU.
From the CM13 thread:
- Unlock your bootloader (you can save your TA partition before)
- Update your firmware to the last Marshmallow version (needed to update the bootloader, kernel will not boot if you use the Lollipop bootloader)
- Install AndroPlus kernel and TWRP
- Make a backup
- Push the rom’s zip to the SD card (optionnaly with gapps)
- Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik cache
- Install the rom (and gapps if you want)
- Reboot

You're on latest official Sony firmware? Anyway, I had and still have the same issue on my tablet with the latest Sony firmware. I worked around the issue using a USB-OTG cable with a USB mouse attached. Crazy I know, but it works.
Good luck.
LOL, why does this have to be so difficult? I installed SGP712_32.2.A.0.253_R4C_Latin America Generic_1295-9724.

I guess this is one of the more challenging devices to tinker with due to the small developer and user base.
But once things are up and running it's one fantastic device, still. You're good to go with that firmware. Make sure you have AndroPlus's latest TWRP (TWRP-3.0.2-0-20160604.img) and you'll be good to go.

Thanks, I finally figured out what I was doing incorrectly. I'm rooted and running CM13.

Not actually only that some people like me always brick their device while trying something new sometimes it happen 3-4 times a day so this tool comes very handy..
And also stock recoverys aren't available online separately so you get rid of downloading 1.4+1.4 GB files over internet only for getting ota updates

Sorry, no offense. I just don't like to be spoon fed. Someone might give me the 'wrong food' and then my phone is bricked. I like to be in control of what I'm doing. That's why I have most ADB and fastboot commands in my head to be easily typed in the console! Fastboot is such a relief for me compared to the old days, when I was forced to use Windows to be able to use Odin for my Samsung Galaxy Mini... (which was running on CM6!).
And about stock recoveries: they are only usable for stock roms! I always make sure that I have a working stock rom as a 'backup'. If, for some reason, I have to go back to stock (that'll be always temporary), I usually leave out the command 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' to retain TWRP.
But yeah, there are always people that just root their stock rom and don't use a custom rom. And then they are surprised that their stock OTA won't install...
For me, stock roms are always outdated and very limited in use...

Either if someone is spoonfeeds you it is your duty to always check what he is feeding you it didn't harm your device.
And talking about the custom roms and stock ROMs in many cases people trust stock ROMs so they don't face any hessale in emergency( like network drop,GPS problems) and also they want root previlages in stock ROM to use some stuff.
But when the updates for stock ROMs arrived many users even don't know why they are unable to update so I made this stock recovery flasher for those people who always love updated stock ROM with root access
And talking about custom ROM for moto these are not much differ from stock (like xiaomi phones) so many people use stock ROMs with moto. And also we can get 70 % of custom ROM features with apps having root so it doesn't make a difference

Yes, you're right there's an 'audience' for this! So your scripts are useful for a lot of people.
I've always been a strange guy: I don't like upgraded but always outdated roms (Android 7.0 vs Android 7.1.2 and security patch level from 1st of January vs 5th of may).
Since there's CyanogenMod/LineageOS I've been using that, with the occasional escapade to the Resurrection Remix, AOKP, and Vanir. Last rom on my previous device was Invicta by @Silesh.Nair / @double_facepalm. Unfortunately not available for the G5 Plus...

There is a version of TWRP which is compatible with encryption/decryption which you can try.
Not as good as other Xiaomi Phones
When you compare other Xiaomi Phones like Redmi Note 5, 6 or 6 Plus, it doesn't stand tall. People who use it are not that quite happy with the phone. My friend has one and he felt like he could have gone for Note 6 Plus.

The bug is in Pie. If you set a pin/password for encryption, it will ask for a pattern and vice versa. Simply do not set a pin/password/pattern.
