So I jumped ship and went ahead and flashed the new image. I flashed via fastboot flash-all.bat. So I figured I'd start this thread for people wanting to jump ship but not sure.
The install went smoothly. Installed twrp,su.
#1 The fingerprint scanner lags. It seems still functional, but a noticeable delay now.
#2 The system overall is laggy. Not jittery but just seems slower to respond than what I am use to.
#3 I'm reading a lot on battery issues, I can't comment on that right now...but will update with my findings.
#4 File manager keeps telling me I don't have root? Not sure what's up with that.
I'll update tomorrow after work.

Let me guess, ES File Explorer? I have had the same issue for about 2-3 months now. I'm on marshmallow still. Its good to know that its still happening on 7.
#2
Do you think it just feels laggy since you're coming from a heavily modified MM ROM with faster animation speeds etc. Or did you come from another stock ROM

Hrmm.. Not sure what you did wrong.. But I'm not having any of the issues mentioned here in either posts.. Flash the wrong version of root? I flashed BETA-SuperSU-v2.74
My first observation is that Google is still to lazy to compile the images with the most current forms of their own apps. Holy hell does that frustrate the #### out of me. Especially on apps that are part of the initial setup.
On this clean flash I thought I had to reset my exchange email password because on the initial setup to add an account in Gmail it kept throwing an email/password error. After checking my password on a laptop it was apparent there was another issue. It wasn't until the Gmail app updated that it would work.

I flashed 2.78, but after I played around with phone for a while. Not immediately after installing new image. No difference in before and after twrp,su.
If I really need root file access I use solid explorer, for everything else I use ES. See if that works for you. I have tried every possible fix I can find for ES but I have never been able to get it to work.
For #1 try this it worked for me In developer options animation duration scale if you set it to .5x the unlock speed comes back.

Usually good to trim after any flash. I never have lag.

Check all three.
Not seeing much improvement on the new build, still seem pretty messed up!
Hey All,
Anyone notice an issue with pausing while recording on this update? I had the same issue with the OTA but after booting into SafeMode it magically worked - but not this time with NRD90U - pretty disappointed!

Why flash such an old version? We're already up to 2.78 stable.

Hello,
I just flashed nougat on my nexus 6P. So far I haven't faced any problem apart from being annoyed that there's no xposed support yet.
Anyway, there's no lag yet that i'm noticing. I have flashed TWRP 3.0.2-2 and SuperSU v2.78..rooted perfectly fine.

Guys talking about the finger print being slower... it was slower on the last build of N as well ( not sure if you were on MM or not ) but yea, its slower for sure. tbh this build doesn't seem all that different to me.
probably just security patches
Do you guys did a factory reset after the update? Sometimes this fix alot of the problems...

Ever since I flashed EB01 I have been having problems with screen responsiveness, It will seem to work fine then after awhile will work selectively.
When I had voodoo installed, it started to do it I was running superclean 2.4
I flashed today back to EB01 Stock rooted non-voodoo, was still seeing it after awhile.
I also just flashed MIUI to play with today, and still am seeing it.
Baseband. EB01
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
I have the same problem, with any ROM that is not an official ROM from Verizon. It seems to be happening as soon as I root it. It is intermittent and locking and then unlocking the screen fixes it.

Same as yours pointing his out. Seriously many people here need to take a chill pill. In all reality his did help as it shows that he does not have the problem. The more people that have the problem the bigger it is. This helps weed it out.

happens to me also. I wonder why it dosnt happen to everyone??? And yes, i wiped and flashed.
Happens to me too. Seems to get worse with time. I was running superclean but flashed back to stock because the responsiveness got so bad my phone wasn't really usable. Happening again with debloated froyo too
It's happened to me on every Froyo ROM, even vanilla on occasion. It's probably just Samsung's ****ty kernel and so there's nothing much that can be done until there's source to work with.

I think I might have found a solution. I went into stock recovery and wiped cache. After a reboot I no longer have the responsiveness issues.
Edit: unfortunately I still have the unresponsiveness issues...seems it was temporary fix. Also, it is always the middle of my screen from top to bottom which becomes unresponsive. How about the rest of you guys?

His post contributed nothing as it provided no useful information to the op. He's looking for an ans...who cares if it worked for him. If that's the case we would have over a hundred posts pop up in here saying "mine works". If that's what you're going to say then at least provide some information the op cam use.
I too have been perplexed with this problem. Posted up in general but no solution has been found. I usually get so annoyed I go back to eclair for a while till I get ambitious enough to try again.
I will also point out that I loose all screen sensitivity when the charger is plugged in. Yes, stock charger and does not do this at all on eclair.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957150
My phone and girls phone do this, mine is on sc2.4, hers is on sc2.2.
Its only slightly annoying at the moment for me, but she texts a lot and complains about the keyboard not working all the time.
The only unresponsiveness that I've noticed is that when I need to end a call, I find that I frequently have to tap "End" multiple times.
I'm also running Beautiful Widgets, so I assumed that that might have something to do with it.
Since BW requires an extra screen tap when coming out of a locked screen, I was assuming it was just a bug with the widget until I saw these posts.
Ok look if your useing set cpu and you set it to on demand your going to see lag but if you have this app and set it to conservative you will not have lag. If you are useing this app this will help you if thats your prob. If not them I suggest you DL'ed it to help your over all speed. I'm useing go launcher ex. Also as a side note I don't have any prob with my phone.

That's a great point. I never thought of that but I had also been noticing some lag while set cpu was set to on demand. Switched to conservative and did seem to notice a difference. Thanks.
I've always had SetCPU on conservative, 1GHz max and 200MHz min. Maybe I don't see it as much as you all say but it's enough for me to notice.

Are you having "my phone won't boot past the splash screen" issues with the latest OTA, and you're not using one of the Stock ROMs?
Mine wouldn't boot either, and it was because of this line in build.prop
debug.sf.hw=1
It was part of the "use gpu to render" tweaks that I'm not even sure do anything.
Anyway, remove that line and all should be well.

Hmm, I have no idea why but my build.prop has the "debug.sf.hw=1" line in it, I'm not using a stock rom and I have no problem booting after flashing freeza's (your) AIO (didn't flash the whole OTA).
The comment in front of the debug.sf.hw=1 line in build.prop says "#Render GUI with GPU instead of CPU", so if you remove the debug.sf.hw=1 line are you giving up hardware acceleration on GUI?

The thing is, it doesn't affect the firmware or radio updates, only the actual OTA. That's why you're not having any problems.
After a bit of research, I've come to the conclusion that that line isn't really responsible for GPU rendering at all. In fact, I'm not sure any of those do anything. That one for sure doesn't.

It actually does make a difference, but for some reason it seems to only work with the OTA before this one. Yes, this is far from scientific proof, but try scrolling the app drawer without the setting and then again with it on. You will notice a difference. Its far from major but it's really noticeable. It's also the only way I could notice a difference. But like I said, its enough that you can tell that at least it does something... seriously, roll back and see for yourself, I promise you will see it too.
but for some reason it doesn't seem to do work with this OTA.. maybe there's a connection... idk.
That line was needed for crt animations to work. Removing it made crt animations stop working, so it did (or used to) do something.

idk thread says if you put a 0 you lose internet and zep was looking into it saying it can only be turned on or off not adjusted but then again said maybe it could be seems like it needs more research/testing but hell as horrible as sprint network in my areas is especially without 4g and flakey wifi anything that can help im trying
so i have been running this for a full day now and can say both mods seemed to have improved my stability and speed of internet saying this because in my are the 3gs are more like no gs and withe mod1 and 2 in place ive gotten a very reliable connection and much improved ( not to the point of worth shouting about but ) i a using null settings on mod 1 just leaving it blank and ive done the file swap in the second mod i want to try the unthrottle bit but im no dev and dont want to play with it not knowing exactly what it could do to my magnificent mopho. gl folks hope this works for you guys as well as it "appears" to be for me

using rocko's unlocked rom with it nulled out (left it blank) maybe placebo but feels like its better so far as adding it to cm i think cm already removes the flow control im not 100% on that but if you wanna try it make sure you nandroid and or put a .bak after your prop so you can fix if something goes awry.

this means your phone will have less available memory, but its being put to good use, since its not being used anyway lol

Another note is Mikey mentioned he fixed MeanROM on the previous base to have a higher OOM priority (lower number) for the browser, gapps, and other stuff so they wouldn't get killed so easily.
Any thoughts on doing the same thing also? I have no idea if Auto Memory Manager works on ICS, that allows you to modify the OOM priority for specific apps.

Nougat has severely diminished my device
Just a general rant, don't know if this is the correct thread for this, and not asking for assistance, just sharing my experience. I updated to official 7.0 when it was release, have been using it for few weeks. Battery life has been way worse than with 6.0.1, speaker sounds as if it is blown out. and multiple major apps crash constantly (facebook, google play music amazon app store etc). Was on beta before officail and DID NOT have these issues. None of the fixes I have searched for have worked.
Used Odin to downgrade back the other day, immediately noticed improvements in sound, after a day, battery was back to normal and apps are working without crashing.
Dont know if just me/my device, or a known issue with the official sprint release.

Dont know if just me/my device, or a known issue with the official sprint release.

Thanks to the OP for posting this, as I will certainly be using it.
And to @Blkjck11, Nougat isn't perfect, and this device CERTAINLY isn't exempt. Nougat has hit my device performance HARD when using GPS, or even switching from a game to the home screen. Battery drain is a problem as well...but even after all of that...I still rather Nougat over MM. The multiwindow has been well refined, and the install/launch times for apps has improved.
Performance certainly varies between devices, and you might not be experiencing the same issues as others.
This is strange, mine the battery improved. Hmmm

Rooted or not rooted? I think not rooted Android 7 is a lot smoother and less intensive. Plus it really comes down to how much you use the phone, what apps are running all the time in the background, etc...
But if you have gone through any steps to "modify" your install of Nougat, always interested to hear. Performance and still maintaining decent battery life is always cool.
Not rooted. Same amount of use as previously on MM just seems a touch better.

That's good... What we all hope for with newer releases of an OS. Better performance and functionality than the last!

Agree. Non root nougat has better battery! Some will argue, but the stability is unmatched.

EDIT... Wrong thread answer
I tried flashing this firmware, but I keep getting an error saying that the MD5 hash is invalid for the AP file (the error message shows up when I try to load the files into odin). I have been getting this same message from the nougat firmware downloaded from multiple locations. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks

Yeah can just flash the Odin files for the Marshmallow firmware. But that blanks your phone and is basically like doing a factory reset, just back to 6.0.1
Though I'm surprised that a lot of apps crashed. I'm running stock, for now, and yeah I've noticed battery life is up and down. I happened to have loaded Pokemon GO, and when I run that it just kills my battery. Of I stick with normal messaging apps, web surfing, Tapatalk, YouTube, stuff like that... I seem good. But I also am running my screen at at the 1080p mode, and turned my brightness down a bit. Also disabled all the Sprint stuff and other apps I'm not using, that I'm unable.to uninstall because they are bloatware.
I have noticed my phone getting warm randomly sometimes, reboot usually fixes it (unless I'm gaming). But battery life still seems decent. Then again that's coming from a rooted version of this firmware as well.
Though last thought I can think of, is that I did a fresh clean install of QC1, and then upgraded to QD2. But upgraded always seem to have lingering issues though. But since on QD2 I think battery is better than QC1, so we'll see.

Is it possible to roll back incremental updates? ie from QE1 back to QD2. My wife's phone received the QE1 OTA update and since then her wifi has not worked and it also says CUSTOM rather than OFFICIAL. I have not rooted the phone. I really don't care about the CUSTOM part, just trying to get the wifi working again. I've tried factory resets and loading the QE1 firmware via ODIN and resetting the device completely with that method at least 3 times now. Still no dice. I'm thinking it's a software issue and maybe rolling the update back to a prior version might fix it? Sprint won't work with me because they say KNOX was tripped because I rooted it (which I didn't...).

Yes. Use odin and flash all files as normal, but use home_csc instead of csc. Good Luck.

Quick question, the QAA firmware available here should work?
