Camera shutter is broken and it causes focus to dysfunction properly - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my camera shutter seems to be broken and i think its stuck in focus mode, I mean if i touch the screen any where in the camera app, the focus circle seems to move where my finger is but it doesnt show blue lining (which means its not focusing) and it also doesnt give me the focus sound so yah... it does auto focus when I take the picture but still , I was wondering if i can put the camera shutter out function ( any software changes I can do to set the shutter to do nothing so I can use the touch focus)?

i think you fixed your phone.
every they open, my camera focus is slow, ablout 6-8s.
We can replace camera sensor, and everything will be okay,

[Q] Camera focus mod

Can someone make a mod to add manual focus to the camera? It's really annoying with the auto focus when you're close to an object and it focuses back out. Don't tell me you tap to focus, can turn auto focus off, or we have a two stage shutter button, I know all of this and have tried every combination of it. None of it works any better.

Camera auto focus fail

Ive always had a problem with the auto focus on near-by objects. When i take the photo in the middle and it starts to focus, it always ends up all blurred. If i turn on macro, it will be too far for the macro to focus properly. Its either i set it on macro and take it really close, or i set to auto focus and position my camera further away. I never had this problem on my old nexus one which always focuses well.
Is there any fix for this? Im sure its something that can be solved on the software side. Or am i simply using the wrong camera settings? I have everything set to auto though.

[Q] Camera Focus possibilities

Hi!
I've been trying to create photos and videos about objects that are close to the camera, but the phone always focuses on the background.
Are there any way to get manual focus? (Set lenses manually) - maybe from another device/rom?
I know, there is a touch to focus in photo mode, can be usefull sometimes but not perfect.
If no chance to manual focus, how can I use the Touch To Focus option while video recording? - That can't be hardware limitation, as we can use it in photo mode.
Thanks.
I use single auto focus while shooting video, works quite well for me...

Rotating the front camera to upright

By the default the front camera is rotated to the right by 90degree. I found a bug that you can do to rotate it back, not sure if everyone is aware of this already though or its an actual feature put in intentionally.
First, I'm running SlimBean 2.7 with the CM10 ffc patch and HoloLauncher.
Instruction: Put your phone in landscape mode. Launch Camera and switch it to the front camera mode. Press 'Back' once and it will rotate the image to upright angle. If you press Home and left the Camera in the ram, it will remain in the same angle when you relaunch the Camera.
However, this doesn't seem to effect face unlocking. Also if you're in Portrait mode it will not work.

Automatic focus for a self 10 second timed picture?

I do a lot of fishing and I often have to prop up my phone on something random for a pic of my fish while I'm holding it, and I can't necessarily get behind the camera to focus and snap, and then get in front of the camera with a fish in the other hand. All my other, lesser phones would automatically focus when I just pressed shutter, set the phone down and I got in front of the camera. Everything I do now this phone the camera blurs me in the picture, I guess because it wants me to focus before I set the camera down? There surely has to be a setting to adjust this? Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Anyone know what I'm asking? Try it yourself, put timer on camera, press shutter and THEN put your phone down and get in front for the picture. it will be blurry...never had a phone that didn't know how to focus after you set it down. Seems like the camera is focusing on the object when you presss shutter and not the object in the lense at the time the shutter actually goes off...
i found the problem. you have to go to pro settings and on the AF (automatic focus) option, you have to select AF-S, as default in non-pro is AF-C.
basically af-c is trying to take a picture of a moving object, and af-s will focus on the stationary object. so if you are trying to get a still of you and some people and have to press shutting before you set the phone down (and don't want to just take a selfie), go to pro settings and change AF to AF-S and that should work near 100% of the time.
