[ Guide ] How to Deodex, Root, Remove KNOX, and Debloat your stock ROM - Galaxy Grand Prime General

Hey guys, i just guessing some people out there didn't want to use custom rom because, of course, BUGS, so they stay with stock.
But they also complains about limitations of stock, which is the stock is odexed, knox-enabled, and a lot of useless apps. But don't worry, i'll give you guys a guide to deodex, root, remove knox, and debloat your stock rom.
Requirements:
Put it in your PC
ODIN
TWRP
Your firmware for your baseband
Lordroid Batch Deodexer
Ext4Unpacker
Put it in your phone's external SD card [ Do this first ]
Deodexed flashable zip ( you will put it after you deodex your firmware at your PC )
Knox-Free Script
Titanium Backup Pro [ You'll use this app for debloat ]
Material Emulator [ it's terminal emulator ][ For extra guide ]
[ For Testing ] S7 SystemUI Mod
SuperSU flashable zip
BusyBox flashable zip
Extra :
Xposed Installer
Xposed Framework
Ok, let's get started.
First Guide, Create a Deodexed flashable zip:
Using winrar/any compressed file manager, extract your system.img.ext4 from your firmware
Create a folder named system, then open your ext4unpacker, browse where did you put the system.img.ext4, and extract app folder, framework folder, priv-app folder, and build.prop from system.img.ext4 to system folder
Now open Lordroid Batch Deodexed, tick zipalign and resign APK, and browse your system folder
It'll ask you how many the task should be executed at once, choose 2
It'll take a while, just relax and do something else while waiting
After it's done, click create flashable zip and name your deodexed flashable zip
you'll get your flashable zip at your Deodexer tool folder/ flashable_zips_out
Now put it in your phone, and make sure the rest of second part of requirements are inside your external SD card
Second guide, let's do all of them at once!!!! :
Power off your phone, open ODIN first and reboot your phone to download mode [ Press volume down+Home+Power, after that there will be a warning, press volume up]
Flash your firmware, after flashing done, an android logo appears for applying changes, when it still appears, press volume up+home+power quickly for entering stock recovery mode
after stock recovery entered, choose wipe data and cache partition
choose power down, then enter download mode again
with odin, flash twrp, and enter recovery mode as soon as possible as the flashing is quickly done
you'll be in twrp recovery, for now just reboot to system [IMPORTANT = Don't flash anything yet or get ready for some bootloop on your phone]
Do the first setup, and after that turn off your phone and enter recovery mode again
Now, flash all the flashable zip : order : deodexed flashable zip > [optional=if you decided to install it] ,knox free script, xposed framework, ,busybox, supersu, S7 SystemUI
Now reboot, and sit back and let the magic of deodex doing it.
after your homescreen showed up, congrats, 2/3 part of this guide is completed!!!!!
And.... the last guide is debloat your rom
Install Titanium Backup Pro, Xposed Installer [ if you decided to install xposed ], and Material Emulator
Open Titanium Backup Pro, and give it root permission
Uninstall these apps ( you can add more if you want ) : Drive, Books, Kiosk, Play Music, Google+, Hangouts, Galaxy Apps, S Lime, Galaxy Gift and Smart Manager
Reboot, and congratulations, you've done all the main guide!! Time for the Extra Guide!!!
Extra Guide: Make your SELinux permissive permanently ( useful if you wanna use any Sound Mods )
Open Material Emulator, type su , and give the root permission
Now do this commands per line:
mount -o remount,rw /system
mkdir /system/su.d [ if you find error : su.d already exists, just ignore it ]
echo "#!/system/bin/sh" > /system/su.d/permissive.sh
echo "setenforce 0" > /system/su.d/permissive.sh
echo "0" > /sys/fs/selinux/enforce
chmod 755 /system/su.d/permissive.sh
After you done with it , go to settings > about to see if you have done it right
If it's permissive , then voila!!! you've done all the guides with a big success!!!

Create your own Custom ROM

Not my responsibility if you soft brick your phone.
What you need:
1.Kitchen by Dsixda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
2./system directory of your custom/stock rom.
3.Root access on phone
Root browser https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkucm9vdC5icm93c2VyZnJlZSJd
Root explorer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&feature=search_result
5.Common sense and half an hour (MOST IMPORTANT)
Instructions:
(I presume that you have already installed Cygwin.)
GETTING SYSTEM FILES
1.Install your preferable Root file browser in your phone.
2.Open and look down for system folder in it.
3.Copy the whole folder on your sd card
OR
1.Open your favourite custom rom and copy the system files in there.I personally used creeds v2.5
(Use this method if you want to test it or you are a lazy kid like me!)
SETTING UP ROM
1.Open Cygwin and type "cd kitchen" and press enter
2.Type "./menu" in it. You will see a menu after that.
3.Go to Cygwin>>home>>user>>kitchen>>original_update
4.Make a folder there named as "WORKING_XXXXX" and put the /system files you obtained in it.
5.Go back to Cygwin and press 1.
6.Press enter once again and select the name of your working folder by pressing the number against it.
7.After this it will ask for naming another folder.Do as you want.
8.Now you have a working folder which is going to become your future rom. Select any options from the menu which you would like to have in your rom.(I have not tested all of them so there is a chance that some of them wont work).
BUILDING THE ROM
1.Press 99 to build the working folder.
2.Go for the interactive mode so press 1.
3.Zipalign them by pressing y. A wall of text would come but dont worry
4.Add updater-script. Again a hell lot of text
5.Press y again
6.Sign your rom by pressing y
7.Change the name of your rom by pressing y
8.Press Enter to finish!
9.Go to OUTPUT_ZIP and open the your rom and go in META-INF fodler.Over here you need to put the updater scripts which you want for your rom. I have tested the scripts from Creeds v2.5 and it installs perfectly. (This is not a necessary step because you can also install your rom with the original META-INF script.)
10.Copy the rom to your sdcard
11.Boot in cwm and wipedata+cache and then install your rom.(Have a backup in hand)
12.It should install perfectly cuz it booted properly in my 9/10 tests.
If you want to customise your rom then look below. It should be done before the building the rom.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
MORE TO COME: TWEAKS,ICONS,ICS SETTINGS,USEFUL APPS and many other customizations.
Nice tutorial,
Just a question
I think we don't need computer to build rom as i can observe fromyour tut, right?

D605 stock KitKat root

Since this information was buried in the other thread I am posting it here for visibility:
This will work only on CWM flashable zip stock (because you need CWM to flash the zip, obviously):
- Flash this first:

- Then flash this:

Now, people are wondering if it's possible to root from OTA/kdz update (like we originally rooted stock JB). In theory it should be. Basically what I did with this root fix is I've added one line to one of init scripts (which all run with root permissions). This line is starting the install-recovery.sh script (which is provided with SuperSU zip package). With KK it's not enough to just drop su binary to /system/xbin - you also have to start daemon (as root). Whatever rooting method you are trying to use has to add a line to one of startup scripts which starts the SuperSU script. If one such method is found please post here, I will also update the OP.

After your phone will reboot in cwm mode. When i did it rebooted automatically with an error:HW reset was detected.Dont worry just press the turn on button for 20 sec and the phone will reboot without giving that error again.
Big thanks to szymel00 a user of a polish android forum.
The link for the zip: (http://d-h.st/2kk)
Tested without any virus.
I didn't have to flash anything
I used the app KingRoot(not in appstore). It just rooted and it was just done. Later that day it rooted jelly bean version as well.
PS! You have to allow unknown sources when running apk-s from outside play store.

[TUTO][A3] 5.0.2 Xposed without Custom recovery or Knox Tripping

Hi,
what started as an Idea seems to be working now. For once i wanted a phone that has warranty for more than two weeks (or at least a chance for warranty).
DISCLAIMER:
Do all of this at your own risk. Even though we will not be flashing a custom recovery, technically the warranty is lost the moment you root your phone.
None of the Tools is actually written by me, i just tinkered a bit and came up with this tutorial.
1. You will need
- Galaxy A3 (mine was an A300FU but i guess every one that can be rooted without flashing should do) on Lollipop (5.0.2).
- Minimal ADB or some other software that brings debugging drivers and adb.
- KingRoot 4.60+
- SuperSu-ME (from play Store or an older version is also fine) or any other way to go from the Kinguser Root Management to SuperSU
- Deodexed apks matching you phone model
- Flashfire Beta
- Xposed Installer, I used 3.0alpha4
- Xposed bridge for Samsung lollipop I used xposed-v75-sdk21-arm-arter97-snapdragon_requestConcurrentGC
2. If something goes wrong:
- Odin and a stock LOLLIPOP ROM for your device!
This is Important: Since we dont have a custom recovery, whenever something goes wrong the only rescue is going back to a stock rom and thereby wiping. If everything works in the first go there will be no wipe.
3. Rooting
First we need to root. Thanks to KingRoot thats very easy and just a matter of waiting. Install KingRoot (has to be 4.60+ for Lollipop), Click try to Root, wait for it, done. Know we need to get rid of the KingRoot stuff again and install SuperSU (FlashFire does not support KingUser but SuperSU) thats what we need SuperSU-ME for. There Will be some Left overs since KingRoot converts itself to a system app, you can remove this with Titanium Backup or a ROM Toolbox of you choice.
4. Deodexing
Next step is gonna be Deodexing. This one is a little Tricky without a Custom Recovery. Flashing the Deodex using FlashFire will leave you stuck at the Boot Logo.
Unpack the Flashable Deodex zip. you#ll find a META-INF and a system folder. Copy the system folder (or rename it, doesnt matter) to your SDcard or the phone memory using USB. At this point you can also copy the two Xposed files (zip+apk). Next we need USB Debugging. Install the minimal ADB, browse to the install location and start "adb devices" once (this will start the daemon). Now take your phone, browse to settings / phone info and tap the build number like 10 times (this gives you developers options) now go to settings / developers options and enable USB debugging.
Connect you phone via USB. This hould bring up a dialog granting your PC permission to connect. Click Yes.
Connect to the phone and request root using
Code:
adb shell
su
Now turn on the phones screen there should be a root request, allow it.
Next is the following commands, assuming the location of the extracted system folder is /storage/extSdCard/deodex_system
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
rm -Rf /system/app
rm -Rf /system/priv-app
rm -Rf /system/framework
cp -R /storage/extSdCard/deodex_system/* /system
chown -R root:root /system/app
chown -R root:root /system/priv-app
chown -R root:root /system/framework
chmod -R 755 /system/app
chmod -R 755 /system/priv-app
chmod -R 755 /system/framework
rm -Rf /data/dalvik-cache/*
reboot
This will replace all system apks with the deodexed ones, sets the right owner and permissions, clears the dalvik cache and reboots. Booting is gonna take a while and then you're enjoying you're rooted, deodexed stock ROM without flashing anything so far. So now about installing Xposed.
Don't be to slow with thus step. Deleting the three folders will make the phone go crazy and at some point reboot, you should be done by then.
Edit: I did this on a second device now, for some reason the remount did not work. In this case try disabling SElinux (http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=12178) and then remount.
5. Xposed
Install the XposedInstaller apk file like any other app, no need to start it yet. Next install FlashFire and launch it (granting root access) now select the Option "OTA or ZIP" in Flashfire and select the flashable Xposed zip you downloaded earlier. No further settings needed just hit Flash! The next reboot is again gonna take a while, but after that you can launch the Xposed Installer and start Installing Modules. We're done.
Whenever you do a factory reset (from the recovery), You need to root again using Kingroot, replace it with SuperSU and install Xposed again.
Once more, I did not develop any of the tools mentioned, all credits to their respective authors.
Cheers,
prometh
Edit: I did not try too many modules yet but Wanam for lollipop works just fine and that useless S Whatever bar is a thing of the past
Hi.
I already have a rooted Galaxy A3 (A300FU) and I have TWRP as my recovery so my warranty is already gone and I'm not too worried about that. However I have had no success at trying to deodex my rom to be able to install xposed.
Would it be possible to just flash the deodexed and the xposed zip from TWRP? And with regards to the deodexed zip would it matter if I flash it over the top of my current rom when I'm using a carrier rom rather than the BTU unlocked rom?

I think this would be a question for the deodex thread I linked but heres my 5 cents: The procedure in your case should be Flashing Deodex (eventually also gapps_replacement from that thread if you get Google Apps FCs) flashing Xposed, booting, installing the xposed installer. The Deodexed zip is meant to be flashed on top of your system. What I described is basically doing manually what the deodex zip file would do (deleting copying...). Since you have twrp already, I guess a system backup wouldn't hurt.
Many thanks for the help. I'll make a nandroid backup of system first just in case and then give it a go.
Thanks again.
Impossible with my SG A3 A300FU
Hello, I already have the root and TWRP installed, but if I try to type the command line with ADB it doesn't work and if I flash the zip, it doesn't work too. Any Idee ? With the first or the second method boot loop with the samsung logo !!

If you try the adb commands whats the exact error? Permission Problems? Anyway the Command line should do nothing else than flashing the zip file (I dont know what the zip file wipes after flashing but I assume its dalvik and cache).
Great work prometh696 !!! I managed to get xposed on my A5 with knox 0x0 !!!
Some other steps I followed to get it for my A500FU; first I extracted my own system folders system/app/, system/framework/ & system/priv-app/ with root explorer to my ext SD card and then copied it to my computer.
On the computer I batch deodexed those folders with joeldroid's batch deodexer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../script-app-joeldroid-lollipop-batch-t2980857
Had some issues there as not every Java version seems to deliver the deodexed folders without errors; more details in that topic.
Then I followed your adb commands and installed xposed, and as you said, knox didn't change and is still 0x0 !!!
Thanks again !!!

The command lines are for copying the deodexed apks (so not in a zip). The zip is for xposed and is flashed by flashfire.
But as he already got TWRP (and thus knox 0x1) I see no use for him to use your method anyway

When I type the first command line after this one "rm -Rf /system/priv-app" or this one "rm -Rf /system/framework" I don't know when exactly my phone reboot and bootloop on samsung logo (dynamic one) ???
My mobile restart before end of commands line
Hi,
your solution seems really good but my mobile (A300FU) is retarting before I typed all commands line.
Do you know a solution ?
Maybe cause I've no ExtSDcard and use the internal card ?
Thank you for your help !!
Regards
Virtua
update : I tried with trwp and made the necessary but the mobile does not boot.
This phone is a mess
It's the first time I can't do what I want with a phone. All posts seems to be a hoax. ;( ;(

This is actually incorrect unless root is systemless.
Root remains in system, and so does xposed. A factory reset does not touch the system partition.
You lose root after a reset because you need to reinstall superuser. If you make it a system app you won't lose root even after a reset.
The same with xposed just reinstall the apk.

Installing xposed

*******KennyG change this to how you need it, I'm just getting the knowledge out. I don't wish to steal credit or work******
Hello fellow xda members, I have used many other sites but haven't been on xda since my droid bionic days... I didn't give up on the v10, i contacted tung and here we are!
Any hoo the method was created by the 6th_Hokage for the boost stylo and it works with a little tweaking on our devices.
Follow the prerequisites from his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-xposed-boost-stylo-5-1-1-t3192494
Here they are for quick glance
Required:
Root
Busybox installed on the device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....busybox&hl=en
Script Manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tmanager&hl=en
Package needed Xposed Boost Stylo.zip: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347813218
Extract the stylo zip to the root of your internal storage
you should see the installer script file and the xposed zip package
download corresponding xposed zip and installer apk
(v80sdk22arm64) and (3.0 alpha 4)
rename the v80sdk22arm64.zip to the v72 found on the root of the sd from the Xposed Boost Stylo.zip
then run it following the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-xposed-boost-stylo-5-1-1-t3192494 by kakashi aka the6thhokage
5- Open Script Manager and navigate to the installer file (script) and chose script, su then press save .
6- now select the same script and press run and choose the option according to what you want (Yes/No)
7- Wait for the script to finish, now go to Xposed Installer apk that you installed before and select soft reboot (it will turn off just power back on)
8- After restart and you may use Xposed properly
soft reboot and there ya go! Ill add more stuff when I get time
thanks peter muzyka
hey the errors don't hinder it and use kernel auditor to set permissive on boot. I also would like some coffee funds if you feel the need paypal [email protected]
I get this error message when I try to install
it should continue to run, make sure you renamed the xposed zip to the same name as the one in the file and have it placed on the root of your internal storage
I renamed the file and put the folder in the internal storage
As a zip not folder all on the root of the sd. I'll make a all in one after I get with romracer and 6th hokage
got it working. thanks.
@THADDIUS25
Like superdallas said, you must put the files from zip into root of internal storage. your screenshot is showing you put the files under "Xposed+Boost+Stylo V2"
Also did you download v80sdk22arm64 then renamed it? you can find download link from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Need to fix Google Play Store links =)
I just used the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/install-xposed-framework-to-lg-spirit-t3226809
Clearer steps by playadru182 below: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66015228&postcount=48
Also, if anyone is getting a second screen error when making calls after installing xposed. Don't forget to follow @tattedup 's tutorial on second screen fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/xposed-fixes-screen-t3246515
It doesn't continue to run in my case, it just shows it can't create /proc/self/fd/
Like this?
http://imgur.com/A1FbNtS
Yeah, it does exactly like that.
Make sure Busybox is installed. As in, run the the Busybox app that you downloaded from the Play Store and install it from there.
Yeah busybox isn't installing properly for some odd reason I believe. It does not run like it usually does.
It doesn't say installed when you tried installing it?
https://imgur.com/JTfuKST
It does say installed....
What fixed it for me was either installing Busybox (I forgot ^^ or using the Terminal Emulator way that I mentioned in my comment to the OP.
When I did that it said no such file or directory
When you entered "su" then "sh /sdcard/installer" in the emulator?
Unlike the OP here that says to put the files in the root folder, put it in the /sdcard folder then try it.
I put it in the folder, but still, no such file or directory.

Everything you should know about N930F/FD Rooting and Flashing including CSC Change

Please be advised anything you follow from this thread i am not held responsible if you mess your phone up, but if you follow the instructions carefully you have less chance for error! This WILL trigger KNOX and you will lose SECURE FOLDER! some custom roms have a secure folder built in.
Im making this due to many people struggling to root, change country specific code and to help understand the custom rom procedure.
if any information here is missed out or mistyped please let me know.
Credit is due to Chainfire AND Tkkg1994, so Thanks both of you.
All files linked are for N930F/FD varient
ROOT AND TWRP RECOVERY
1. First you will need to download Twrp https://dl.twrp.me/gracelte/twrp-3.0.2-1-gracelte.img.tar.html
2. download the newest SU binary https://download.chainfire.eu/1003/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip?retrieve_file=1 and save to your SD CARD ROOT directory
3.Reboot into download mode holding Volume Down + Home + Power button and click volume up to select continue.
4.open odin check auto reboot and f.reset time is enabled
5. click AP and select TWRP file you downloaded and click start
6. reboot into recovery and swipe to allow modifications
7. Go to Install and find where you saved SU binary (SD CARD ROOT directory) and click install
8. You are now rooted
CUSTOM ROM INSTALL
By now you should know which Rom you wish to install and should have it download.
1. Put the rom.zip onto you SD CARD ROOT directory.
2. Reboot into TWRP recovery ( VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER BUTTON) and allow modifications.
3. Click install and find the custom rom you downloaded to the SD CARD ROOT directory and click it to install.
4.Follow the instructions included in the rom and choose the options you wish to install (some roms give you the option to install the old 100% battery kernel, i reccommend you dont install this kernel for obvious reasons) you should also do a CLEAN install (factory reset/format data)
5. you should now be installed and able to reboot into custom rom.
CSC Change
CSC changing allows you to change your country code from o2 to ee for example to allow wifi calling etc.
1. BACKUP your EFS Partition. (incase any error occur)
2. Download the exynos CSC.zip from Tkkg1994 Post http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-t3450911
3. Save the zip file to your SDCARD ROOT directory
4. Reboot into TWRP Recovery and allow modifications
5. Click install and find the CSC.zip you saved to your SD CARD ROOT directory and click it to start installation.
6. Follow instructions until you get to the mulitple choice list of CSC. BTU is the UK unbranded csc which also has the built in wifi calling option for example EE network. (recommend) choose which csc you want and click to install
7. once done go back and reboot the system you are now done
If you followed the full guide you should now be rooted with custom recovery and have your CSC changed
If you require to revert back to stock for any reason open samsung smart switch, click more and then the second tab, next enter your model number and seriel number and click okay
You forgot to mention that by doing this you trigger knox and lose secure folder
