Unlock all bands on LG K7 (K330) T-Mobile - LG K7 Questions & Answers

Phone : LG K7 (K330) T-Mobile
Chipset : Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 (LTE model)
I tried to follow these guides : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/guide-unlock-z3c-international-bands-t3091344 & http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269 in order to unlock all 3G & 4G bands because the phone was bought in US and now I'm in Europe.
The initial state was that phone could only operate at 2G networks in Europe.
I tried several combinations on the enabled bands, like all of them enabled, only the European ones, only a few etc etc but nothing worked. The phone could not detect the SIM at all, or at some occasions it was in a loop trying to connect and was showing the "welcome to <carrier>" pop-up without actually managing to connect to the network/cell at all. Even when all bands were enabled, the phone could not operate even at 2G network (that was initially working).
(I have checked after reboots etc that the new NV values are saved as should).
At all these failing states, the process qmuxd was running continuously at 100% cpu (if this info is at any help)
Now, I reverted it back to US bands, and it operates at 2G
My question is: since the chipset (as mentioned at its specs) can operate at these bands, shouldn't it work? Is there something else I should have in mind, that maybe prevents the phone/antenna from operating at European bands?
Thanx in advance

You have to contact the carrier. T-Mobile 1st to see what options are available to you (since it's a US Phone), and then call your current carrier provider if T-Mobile can not resolve this issue. Hope this helps you.

AWS(Band 4) Working on D803

Haven't seen any post on this, but I got AWS working on a Bell LG G2(D803)
Added band support using QPST and connected to Wind no problem.
Care to share your method?
I roughly followed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269
No need to root the phone, it goes into diag mode when you set the usb connection to PC mode.
I used 115868544 as my NV value. Not sure if you can add more bands but AWS was the only thing I was interested in.
Hi, I have tried Googling this but I still don't really know how this works.
I have a D800 that offers LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100.
However, I need LTE 1800 for 4G in New Zealand.
Since Snapdragon 800s have modems on board, can I flash the bands for D802 and get 4G?
I don't really know about this so please help.
Thanks
I didn't mess around with any of the LTE bands, only the WCDMA bands.
I have tried changing WCDMA and LTE bands on my VZW VS980 being used on ATT network.
After several attempts, under different Roms and Kernels, I have been unsuccessful in changing either.
1877 NV value can be changed but leaves phone unusable while 6828 NV value changes do not stick after reboot.
If anyone has been successful in getting VZW branded G2 activated on ATT, please let know.
Here is a thread that has lot of information... Most of the changes, I found are reversible. So go at it...

Are frequency bands locked by software or limited by hardware?

Hello,
I have the F600S, Korean (SK Telecom) version and I live in Estonia. My V10 has 850mhz, but no 800. Our carriers use 800mhz and no 850 :/
I have reception everywhere, like really good, but out of populated areas, I have very poor mobile data speed and it's almost always on GPRS and I think it's because of the 800mhz support.
I'm asking this because I have read a lot of contradicting info. Some say it's just locked software-wize, due to carriers and that all phones have the same radio. So is it like this? Would it be possible for me to unlock 800mhz on my V10?
I know that this might be a general question towards all phones, but as I've understood, it could be different on different models.
Any help would be appreciated! I hope the answer won't be just "no"
Nothing?
Do the following test (no risk involved):
Enter 277634#*# on your num pad, then select Field Test, Modem Settings, LTE Band Selection and then check what happens if you press BAND 20 (success or fail?). If it is success, then there could be the possibility to unlock band 20 on a H901.

and possibly, in the future, there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/check-hidden-lte-bands-t3240398
Thanks, but I have the Korean F600S version and nothing comes up with that number/code...

Gear s T-Mobile not Working on a GSM SIM Card outside USA

Dears,
I need your help. I have Gear S R750T running on R750TUVU1ANJ7. I have just rooted my Gear S following the exact instruction in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/development/definitive-guide-to-rooting-gear-s-t2973455
Unfortunately, SIM Card still not working even after rooting. There is no coverage appear in the watch.
Do you have any solution or suggestion to overcome this problem.
Thanks,
A.AZIZ
I have the exact same issue.
USA phones (and GearS watches with phone functionality) use a different communication channel than those for Europe/Asia.
So, if you're trying to use a phone/watch designed for one set of frequencies (for example USA uses dual band 850/1900) on a network with a different set of frequencies (in Europe it's 900/1800) it will simply not work.
You should definitely research this kind of info BEFORE buying any GSM type device (phone, smartwatch, 3g/4g tablet, ...) or you'll end up with a "WIFI only" device
EDIT :
Here's a list of countries that use the same frequencies as USA :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_wireless_communications_service_providers
Also, for Yemen the network uses the GSM 900 system, so an American phone won't work : http://www.gsmarena.com/network-bands.php3?sCountry=YEMEN
Thanks verzipo for your reply
Thanks verzipo for your reply
I don't think the problem is the band frequencies as most mobiles whatever be GSM or CDMA brought from USA are working properly here in Yemen. Only mobiles which are factory locked or restricted by a carrier need a back door solution either by rooting or some utility applications. I feel frustrated and cheated by buyer that I spent more money for the Gear S on un-used feature in my country.
Anyway, I will try my best to use the WIFI feature to its end limit to compensate
Thanks Man again.....

How to add/unlock bands on this mediatek phone

Hi guys,
I rooted the phone, installed audio and viper mod... but the only reason I even got that far was trying to root the phone to get additional bands added to the modem. Seems like I am not getting far lol.
The ulefone power 3s I got does not work in canada for bell... as it lacks 3g apparently and only has 2g and 4g? 4g data works, calling phone with 2g works. So data works for bell mobility and rogers, but voice and sms does not work with bell mobility... only with rogers/fido/koodo.
I am going to switch to rogers from bell due to better cost (45 a month plan with data) vs 80+ with bell... so ill get voice working but im worried then how much this phone will work when roaming in the states and what have you....
I seem to be only able to find how to edit bands with qualcom based phones but ours is a p23 or mtk 6763 processor phone.
Did you figure this out?
Just wondering if you were ever able to unlock the bands. I am having a similar issue
Fault of the smartphone made in mediatekļ¼š
The japan domestic carrier company where iPhone is set to use all of carrier bands in Japan merely hangs SIM lock and sells a terminal, but even which carrier is available if I cancel it.
However, there is no human being who wants to use this even if the phone which is how much which is the phone which is usable only in Japanese Tokyo where only a measure band of 3G and the LTE is usable because it is sold domestically without most of the carrier bands in Japan being available is bargain as for the smartphone made in mediatek
Even if the person buying it appears if baseband sets it freely and can add it, such an application does not exist.
Because I get the root right, in z3c of sony where band addition is possible freely by QPST and QXDM if it is a phone of snapdragon, there are still many users
The smartphone made in mediatek is a really useless (not smart) phone in Japan

LG V30 H932 doesn't work on my carrier but it does work on at least one other carrier

Hey,
My LG V30 H932 was unlocked (using octopus suite) and the IMEI cleaned (confirmation from the IMEI clean received from the original carrier) but it still won't work on my Belgian carrier.
The strange thing is, it does work with another Belgian carrier which uses another network.
I tried restarting the device, setting the right APN, manually selecting the provider (says it can't connect with the network) but nothing worked.
Bootloader is unlocked and device is rooted running stock 7.1.2.
Anyone who knows what to do?
Changing provider is possible but my current provider is cheaper and I get some discounts etc. so it would really suck...
Edit: the network provider of my current carrier confirmed the it's not blacklisted anymore.
Which carriers? Have you checked to see which LTE bands they each use?
The H932 is a US carrier variant (T-Mobile); it only has a small subset of bands available for use, and due to its SoC RSA signature being different from other variants it (probably) can't flash other variants' radios for wider network compatibility.
It would probably be far better to sell what you have and instead buy a US998 (for NA phones), or ideally an H930 (the EU variant) since presumably it would support all Belgium carriers out of the box. However, you might be able to enable bands used by your carrier using the LG hidden menu, if band support is indeed the problem.
