Hi everyone.
I've been using Motorola Droid Razr XT910 for a few years.
(I'm coming to the subject) My phone has been bricked (soft brick). I have the stock ROM but when I try to flash it in Fastboot Mode using RSD lite, my computer doesn't detect my phone. I have installed Motorola Device Manager, Adb drivers and RSD Lite. Is there any stuff I missed to install so that my phone starts working again?
(All types of suggestions are accepted.)

Don't worry. I fixed the problem by simply reinstalling the drivers. But I hard bricked my device by flashing the wrong xml file. So no use anyway.

Your phone is hard bricked. Only warranty service from Motorola will solve it.

try pressing Vol+ and power. If it says "starting RDS protocol" you are not so unlucky. Connect the phone (in RDS mode) to the pc and start the windows application called RDS Lite v5.6 or 5.7 (I tested these). Then your phone will be recognised by RDS Lite and you'll be able to flash a full sbf (full image of the complete system - like a factory reset). You can find your correct sbf from here: http://www.das8nt.com/sbffiles.html
hope to help
thanks
Thanks alberto88a
I can´t go into RSD only flashboot protocol support.
That´s very werid cause was an "official update"
I´m thinking in run a virtual machine with ubuntu and try to plug it. Then try to run a fruitcake :cyclops:

when i do that the ms-dos said "waiting for the device" i installed all the drivers and i run it on win 7, win 8 and win xp. Thats i´m trying with ubuntu no drivers need for mount a device.
I´m very bored without an smartphone lol
Your phone is not hardbricked. Rsd recognise your device you will flash with the same firmware you have after the problem. If that not resollve your problem you need to flash the unlock sbf via rsd. Again using rsd lite flash the sbf original you have after the failed to bot 1. If the failed to boot 1 still there you need to flash via rsd the unlock sbf.

Are you sure the device is connected in fastboot mode? Try fastboot devices before other operations...anyway if the phone goes into fastboot mode you are safe! It's just a driver problem! Keep me updated

maybe you need to search your device and install drivers manually from control panel and "hardware". I think it's only this driver problem that keep you from flashing a full rom...

I recently tried to update my rooted Razr Maxx and to 4.2.2 it failed the install and ended up in a reboot loop. I then believe i deleted the stock rom. I only have access to safestrap v3.11 currently. I found on the eternity project the original stock rom for the razr maxx and unzipped it. I also downloaded RSD lite 5.7 I was able to extract and open the xml file into RSD lite. I went and plugged in my phone and mounted the drives of the phone via usb. I know that I am connected because windows opened the prompt to ask me what to do with each drive.
The problem is that the phone isn't being recognized in RSD lite. I know that if it does I will be home free. I am using a motorolla USB cable.
Please help
Thanks
I realized now that i wiped the system via safestrap and lost my system rom because i am retarded. Can you help me connect to RSD and will this give me back the original stock rom.
Thanks
Maybe you are missing the motorola drivers google them and you will gind them there is also a video by the razrhuy who shows it

What Operating System Are You Using On Your Computer?
It's strange that one has a problem, and the other does not. I understand that RSDlite not recognizing the phone is an issue, but is flashing the sbf necessary? Can you not access BMM? Does it boot directly to Fastboot mode? Or does the bootloader loop?
Regardless, I know that you aren't asking for help with the phone not booting. The problem is you cannot flash via RSD since it doesn't recognize the Razr. When you say the Razr Maxx was alright, did you boot into fastboot and RSD recognized it, or did you plug it in with the OS running, and your computer recognized it? Have you installed Motorola Device Manager?

I am using WIndows 10 (Maybe that's the problem) and trying to flash stock firmware onto an XT912 via RSD Light. 64bit Moto driver (6.4) were installed. I put the phone into boot mode, and then connect the USB cable, but nothing happens - After awhile it reboots and the computer sees the phone, but I doesn't get seen by RSD. It seems like it is not connecting via the Motot drivers but just the stock ones. I went into Device manager and made sure all the drivers were updated but can't get it to connect. ANy thoughts o what I can do. I have tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times and they seem to be there, phone is just seeing them.

I believe I got the issue resolved. I ended up just using a different method completely(DROID RAZR Utility XT912 Jellybean) skipping the use of RSD Lite and the whole moto driver. From my research it looks like the moto drivers do not work with Win 8.1, so definitely not Win 10 at this time.
You can close the thread.
Thanks for the help.
