[Help] Archos 50d Helium got Brick! Pls! - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Archos 50d Helium have got brick after I flash TRWP recovery (maybe wrong version for my phone). Now it can't get into logo, recovery mode, fastboot mode. It can be realized via PC by Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 Drivers. There is any method to recover it? Thanks so much!
Ps: Sorry about my bad English!

Today I found a method to fix it. I guess it bricked due to TWRP format wrong to SYS_BOOT partition on my device (my fault ).
I need a SYS_BOOT.IMG or some thing like that on that partition to unbrick it.
PLS help me!

I'm not sure about Helium 50d... but you should check NeedRom anyway.
They provide their files in .pac format, so you kinda have to use their software (it's free and I didn't see any issues) to find the file location inside. Navigate to the location and it should have the .img file at that location. It basically extracts it into a temp directory and you just have to go find it.
Once you've done that then it's a case of using ADB or Fastboot to flash it over. Not sure if you can use the program itself, it's possible. Unfortunately, it's buggy on Linux so...

You might get more luck if you at least tell people what tablet it is and what you did to get it in such a bad state.

thanks for reply
my device is china MT6572 with android 4.2.2
I have use a very very very superb tool named "MtkDroidTools v2.48" and bricked my newly purchage tablet.
1. I click on root and happy thing is that tablet got rooted. wow
2. I have created backup from this tool and after few minutes, many *.img backup files are created on my pc and my tab's sdcard. wow again
3. After restarting the tab it restarting again & again and not booting. really a "heart attacking wow".
I have tried following steps
1. In default "android stock recovery 3e" trying to restore backup files and got message "installation aborted" everytime. same message from using "adb sideload command"
2. creating a scatter file from this tool and load backup in "SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1343.01" tool. but no any tool connect my tab. it says no device.
3. only "adb sideload" from stock recovery has the way to connect to the pc. but I don't know which kind of files are used at there??
During the backup process a log file created by MtkDroidTools has attached for details information.
then plz tell me. what I do for get again a "relaxed wow"??
Load scatter file and back up files in SP Flash tool. Power your tablet off, hit download button in SP Flash tool then connect tab to pc.
If you have the preloader driver installed SP flash tool should connect and start flashing firmware to phone. Do you hear the connecting sound when you connect powered off tablet to pc? If not, you may need to press and hold Vol Down, Vol up, or menu button while connecting tab to pc.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Ok, no need to hit a combo of buttons, only 1 button you need to press while connecting tab to PC. Please retry following the directions from my last post again
Yes, preloader will only show for a few seconds in device manager before it turns off. Preloader is only for reflashing firmware. When it enables itself, it is looking for the SP FT (or other firmware flashing programs) to be there to catch it, if not preloader shuts itself off.. Your download of SP Flash Tool should have included the needed preloader drivers. Then you load files in SP FT and hit download button then connect tab to PC.

Thank you very very very very much. Finally I have got a wow.
After many efforts, I resolved the tablet booting issue. It is possible due to only your valuable suggestion.
steps are here:
1. connect tab to pc & installing preloader usb drivers.
2. getting VID & PID of tablet usb connection.
3. modifying "SP FT settings files" with new values of my tab.
4. creating a scatter file from droid tool & load in SP FT.
5. Flashing backup to the tab successfully.
You are such a genius. I have been wasted a lot of time since a week for getting the right answer. During this period I had connected to many android experts at many sites. but no satisfaction answer.
And u are really amazing. You have got the real problem in only three conversation. really great.
Well I m a windows expert. If u feel any technical problem regarding servers or windows, ask me, I will try my best.
I am launching a website soon named "GeniusPepoleofWorld.com". I want to add you at top there in Android Expert list. Now site is under constructions. I want to know your name & personal mail-id like gmail etc. When I will finish my site, I will inform you.
One more thing I want to know that "what is the use of stock recovery & adb sideload, which files types are used with it?"

I am happy to hear it worked for you. Nice job Raj! I am just passing on the knowledge I learned here on XDA (Thank @rua1 he made MTK DroidTools and without that tool alot of folks with MTK devices wouldn't have root, stock firmware back up files, or working recovery
Anyhow, as for your last 2 questions. Stock recovery is used for flashing officially signed update files from your device manufacturer (If they were to make an update that is lol) This is how all android devices are able to accept ota updates, they download the file to phone/tablet then reboot into recovery and then it flashes the downloaded file to the device.
Adb sideload allows you to connect the device to a PC and then upload a firmware file to device to be flashed via recovery instead of downloading it directly to the phone. This is useful if you had an officially signed stock firmware file for your device stored on your pc. Some custom recoveries also allow you to use adb sideload but since you have stock recovery you would be restricted to using only officially signed files.
Say for instance you were not able to get your device to boot properly, you would just need to boot tablet into recovery mode and then choose adb sideload. At this point you would connect tab to PC and then put your firmware file in the same folder you have adb.exe in. (Let's call the firmware file "firmware.zip" in this example) Then open command prompt in same folder that adb.exe is in and type "adb sideload firmware.zip" this would push the firmware.zip file to the device then flash it for you.
Since you were able to use MTK Droidtools to get root then make a back up, you should be able to also use it to make a custom recovery for your device too. When you made the back up, it will usually make 2 back ups, one on your pc that you use SP FT to flash files and restore your device then it also makes a back up on your devices sd card that is flashed through custom recovery to restore your device. This would make restoring your device pretty easy if you need to do so again and it will also allow you to restore without needing a PC to do it.
Hope this helps!

I've got the exact same problem with my phone... My phone, Celkon A15 (Indian brand) also has the same chipset number and while trying to root using MTKdroids tool, I have managed to get it in the boot looping stage.
I'm just curious on how you managed to get the pre-loader installed for this? I CAN NOT get the SP Flash tools to detect my phone for the life of me. Also, when I load my scatter file, it has the "PRELOADER" section in RED... and when I try to upload the preloader.bin from my backup files, it says... "Load file "*path name*" fail!"
I am still struggling to understand how the SP Flash tool works and if it would be able to get my phone alive again (well it did help you out, so I am bit optimistic).
Please HELP!

Hi
1. First you have connect your device to pc.
2. you have to open the device manager and keep your eyes on a new hardware found at device manager, when you start up your device.
3. Preloader will only show for a few seconds in device manager before it turns off.
3. install preloader drivers.
4. open SP Flash tool and load scatter file and set path for your backup files.
5. Click download button and reboot your device.
6. Software will catch your device and finally backup will be restored to your device.

You need to have an insecure boot image. Unpack your boot image with either of these tools: michfood (for windows) or bgcngm (for linux/cygwin). Add the following lines in the default.prop of ramdisk folder
Code:
ro.secure=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.service.adb.enable=1
Then repack your boot image.

You need to flash it via SPFT, download links are here and on how to use that tool. It's the most important tool for any MTK devices.
But you need to find the correct scatter.txt file for your device to be able to use SPFT and flash the modded boot.img, otherwise, SPFT won't work properly.
EDIT: Why not just look for a flashable stock rom for your phone? Since you already have CWM/custom recovery, you can just flash that rom and your phone will be up and running.

Trekstor Surftab breeze 9.6 quad root

Hey Everybody!
I am new to this forum, looking for a way to root my trekstor Surftab breeze 9.6 Quad. I already tried out the recommended tools, unfortunately none of them worked out. Is anyone of you aware of a method rooting the tab? Or did anyone already rooted it?
First ofall I am looking for a way to move files and apps to the external sd and delete pre-installed apps. Farther, if possible and available, a custom rom would be pretty amazing.
I'm only familiar to nexus root toolkit on my old nexus 4, otherwise I'm a newbie in rooting.
Maybe there's some of you able to help me. If necessary, I will look up more information on the tablet.
Lucas
Maybe as an Update:
Trying to build a working adb connection using the andorid sdk tools, the surftab is not listed as a device in "adb devices"
Anyone out there who can help me with the tablet?
Alright, new update for today.
I was able to get a driver running and the root-toolkits like KingoRoot, KingRoot, One Click root etc. noticed the device, I even was able to start the rooting, but all of those tools said "Root failed" or "Your device is soild to root".
Looks like those one click solution aren't able to root the surftab. I also tried towelroot and framaroot, both without any success.
I am still looking for help
If you are still interested, I successfully dumped whole eMMC memory from this tablet, so I can send you, for example, the boot partition. You can try patch it with Magisk
The magic
Yes, if it's not difficult for you, you can share the firmware. I will be grateful
Hi!
I attached xz-compressed stock boot.img for you!
Also, I have full eMMC dump, but:
recovery partition data are not usable (overwritten by uncompatible recovery image during mine tests)
no data partition
no platform bootloader partitions mmc0boot0 and mmc0boot1
Trekstor-Surftab-Breeze-9.6-ST96416-1-emmc-dump.dd.xz [1.12 GB]
Decompress and use kpartx tool (need force to ignore omitted data partition)
I have this tablet rooted now, so you can ask me for anything about it.
With love for all open source,
petabeda
Just one thing: fastboot boot is not supported here, so If you are afraid, flash modified boot.img to recovery partition with fastboot flash recovery boot.img for test (adb reboot and then adb reboot recovery
You will lost your recovery, but, at least, no bricked device in case of error (recovery is actually second boot partition)

I have two surftab tablets. One version of the SIM card is fully functional. Another wifi version will not load. When loading, the orange logo at the moment of "collection" freezes. If there is, you can go into recovery even factory reset.
But nothing changes. I believe that the EMMC resource has been exhausted and therefore this behavior.
and to be honest, I don’t know how to write the partition. Since only the adb sideload command is available in recovery mode. Apparently, it is impossible to overwrite the firmware except through the programmer.
Until that time, I could not even pull out the firmware. Since there was no root access
Thank you for your help. As a thank you, I will give you a link to a tool to repair the Nexus 7 bootloader. Through a vulnerability in the tegra cpu. As I understand it, I use this method to hack the nintendo switch. I personally bought 4 nexus 2012 on the secondary market and one of them was able to restore in this way. They of them had a damaged eMMC other power controller. And even with a soldering station, I could not replace it because there is no suitable frame for the reball. In general, nexus are not bad, but there is very little disk space for installing google services and GAPPS are useless. And it is difficult to change partition. And it makes no sense because of the available firmware.
I see, you can''t unlock bootloader, because your device is not bootable at all. So, there is no way to get into fastboot mode?
We are anti e-waste fighters giving second chances!
The first photo is the available recovery menu. Where after choosing a factory reset, nothing changes. And through the adb update, only sideload mode is available.
The factory partition is not corrupted as the restore completes successfully. But the download fails. And not just does not occur, but freezes as in the screenshot above. Most likely a hardware problem eMMC.
Earlier, I saw something similar, for example, in Asus Zenpad, if turn off or connect the camera incorrectly, then the download stops. But here animation is stuck.
I don't know how to check eMMC exactly.
logs files is empty
And with recovery, no commands are available (like adb or fasboot)
There is a one way how to diagnose/repair/have fun with that Trekstor tablet - If you could and want to disassemble it:
have your tablet powered off
disassemble the tablet
carefully disconnect FFC cables (display and digitizer)
remove mainboard screws
at back side in the center of the board, there are three testpoints.......yes you are thinking right, these are actually 1.8V UART signals and GND
Connect these signals to your serial converter (in my case, Raspberry Pi), be careful and talk with the same loundnesses
Don''t power on the tablet, only plug usb cable, tablet will try boot and run healthd (charging mode with battery animation)
Your console will show you the magic (PBL/SBL) bootloader messages and Linux log and event, maybe, the console (though no root), lalalal (/dev/ttyFIQ0)
Wish you luck
After that, if everything goes well, you should be able to use reboot fastboot command to get fastboot mode !

HardBricked

I tried to install Conceptify ROM. When I was making a partition, I had mistake, instead of typing rm 29, i typed rm 3. Then I came back to recovery and power off telephone. At first time I was able to enter recovery, but then I wasnt. Flashmode and Fastboot arent working, device dont start. On my pc its named like an unknown device or somc, Does anyone can help?:crying:
Hi bro , did have solve your problem yet?? , I've got the same situation as you the same rm 3 if only I added another number , I think that block 3 has files for flashboot that is why it isn't working anymore , I tried with xperia companion but also asked about that flashboot
The only solution is to find a workaround on how to flash the firmware through fastboot , anyone has any idea??
partition 3 is s1sbl (related to bootloader), so you can't restore your device via flashtool, pc companion or emma. it's hard bricked, sorry
it can be recovered if you have any jtag box

Any joy in getting your boot partition back. I may have gone the same route with my M4. No flashmode, no LED when connecting to USB, etc.
Links to possible JTAG solutions for this phone?

which partition have you mistakenly delete? did fastboot still work for you? if so you can flash recovery and restore your OS and somehow you could fix flashmode with usb debugging on
but if you're unlucky like me with locking the bootloader mistakenly then
there's setool box and JTAG box but the question is which one is easier for restoring boot partitions
also I saw some way of restore partitions but that was with emmc replacement

Missing Boot loader and operating system...

Hello all, i recently picked up a ulefone armor 2s and i was attempting to root it and i have made a mistake and now i don't know what to do as the phone is in a bricked state at the moment.
I followed the guide here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-ulefone-armor-2-easy-rooting-t3780055
and have got nothing as TWRP did not load on to the device properly and i am stuck in a boot loop. i am thinking that somehow i made a big mistake and deleted the recovery somehow and i am unsure on how to load a recovery back on.. I have rooted phones before so i have a basic understanding of ow it works but i dont know how to fix this...
Please Help and thank you for helping

Try using pc.. if its still detected by the system..
If yes check the processor of your ulephone if its mediatek or qualcomm. If its MTK use sp flash tools else use qualcomm flash tools.
Even if the bootloader is missing, its the preloader that will be there. And flash tools are the way they can make use of preloader. Make sure you have proper drivers installed in your system.
If you have a working recovery, install it via flash tools so the device can rise from the dead..
