Holy crap, that sounds awesome. Huge thanks for all of your work! Hoping someone will be able to confirm that it works on the A2017G

Just wow!
Thats what I have talked about.
I hope it works on the A2017G version.

Is this reversible? Would ZTE somehow be able to tell if the bootloader was unlocked before when returning the device for a warranty?

yes it is, just keep your fastboot img in a safe place backup is in OP part of the guide.
to revert back is very simple same step but instead using fastboot_unlock.img you use your fastboot backup and do the rest of the steps (wipe and so on)

been honest in Marshmallow, i remember in Lollipop you could unlock bootloader and keep everything but in Marshmallow everything change, any device i had that need bootloader unlock it wipes.

We essentially just forced ZTE's legal department's hand. They now have no way of voiding warranty with unlocked bootloader. Nice job guys!

Can I do this procedure with Axon Zte 7 A2017? (China Model)
Moderator Edit: @blessingme - it is not necessary or desirable to quote the entire OP. It can cause page loading issues with those on limited bandwidth or when mobile.
Thanks

Apparently Honor is not giving away any Bootloader unlocking code for the European version of the phone (PLK-L01).
Someone sent an email asking for his European phone and this is the answer he got back.
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry that there have no bootloader unlock code for PLK-L01 items.
By default , you can do fastboot downloading for some images directly without Unlocking bootloader..
We suggest you'd better not root your device which would avoid the warranty and maybe cause it freeze.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.
Huawei Device Customer Care Team 3207
Moreover, according to a French website that interviewed Honor CEO (http://www.frandroid.com/marques/honor/306559_honor-pense-avons-reussi-pari-marque-desormais-connue), they're not planning on having any changes on their ROM policy keeping it private and closed as it's been for the Honor 6.
I guess the only way left is to have someone doing the hack on XDA. Knowing that the phone is quite new we just need to wait a bit before someone eventually gets on it =)
That makes me rethink about buying it...
A phone without root le barely useless
Successfully unlocked my PLK-L01 from Germany.
Used the Huawei Product ID Generator combined with the following page to unlock bootloader: http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
My question is, how can I root now? The guide from piskr I think is only for chinese phones?

I've used the tool to load the latest TWRP on my Honor 6 Plus, which I had updated to EMUI 3.1 (Android 5.1.1).
Exactly the same TWRP was loaded succesfully on a Mate 7 with EMUI 3.1.
So my guess is it will also work on the Honor 7.
From within TWRP recovery you can install the SuperSU.zip
So, who will be the first to try this stuff out?

Weren't you the guy from Germany who unlocked his bootloader?
It's pretty safe flashing the twrp recovery from sideload (with the multitool).
IF (!) you have the original recovery image at hand.
Because when it doesn't boot with twrp you can just get it back into the bootloader and flash stock recovery back.

Yes, that was me.
Than I will have a look after the recovery image, because I don't have it at the moment.
And the phone ist still very new at the German market. So maybe I have to wait for it. Otherwise it would be nice to post a link if someone has found an recovery image.

Method to extract stock recovery was mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57271243&postcount=5
Going through Honor 6 forums, you will find plenty of methods that will apply for Honor 7.
I've just rooted my Honor 7 PLK-L01 yesterday.
The unlock code was sent to me by support.
I've followed piskr tutorial but I was stuck in a TWRP recovery reboot loop.
You can solve the problem, by flashing back a stock recovery.
I found a stock recovery that worked for me in the link of this tutorial :
http://www.gizdev.com/rooting-huawei-honor-7-unlockbootloader-root-install-twrp-recovery/#
(direct link to the file http://d-h.st/R6lD of this tutorial)
This was not exactly the same "stock recovery" as the one that my phone had but it worked for me.
PS: I've not tested the TWRP recovery provided in this tutorial.

If it got stuck in bootloop with TWRP, then how did you root it?
Or did you mean that you unlocked the bootloader with the code?
Did you flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery or another version?

Look over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/honor6-multi-tool-t2963060
You can flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with this tool.
If @VirusPlus will take out the errors out of his script
Or put adb.exe, fastboot.exe and TWRP_2.8.7.0.img in the same folder on your computer and run this while having your Honor 7 connected via USB cable and ready in bootloader:
adb kill-server
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery TWRP_2.8.7.0.img
fastboot reboot
adb wait-for-device
adb reboot recovery
fastboot devices
Is there any recovery rom available for my model? Than I would give it a try.

The TWRP worked fine in adding SuperSU application but was unable to reboot to system.
Reboot system and power off buttons (even hard reset) always leaded to recovery.
(I was also unable to power off the phone)
I was just able to go into the bootloader by keeping pressed the volume down key at reboot start.
(and with the bootloader I could flash the stock TWRP that unstuck me)
I used the chinese TWRP from piskr tutorial.

Should be in the download here:
http://www.gizdev.com/rooting-huawei-honor-7-unlockbootloader-root-install-twrp-recovery/#
if you want to preserve your stock recovery and still use TWRP, you can just boot into any recovery you want..
Just use the command :
Code:
fastboot boot <recovery image>
This will only boot the recovery on the device, and preserve your stock recovery.

New Redminote 3 Pro can't flash ROMs

Hi guys,
Just recently purchased redmi note 3 pro 32gb from gearbest.
Phone should be international version with 7.2.13.00(LHOCNCL) preinstalled.
I found that I cannot flash any standard / developer ROM when official website by using built-in flash tool.
Any way to go from here? to at least receive OTA updates and in future I will like to try out Ressurection rom.
thanks.
Your ROM is unexsisting one, cooked by the seller.
You must flash a new one clean via EDL mode and MiFlash
This CN in the name means Chinese, and the numbers says that the rom is only modified to support more languages.

No you wont loose your IMEI. Basically you are just flashing official MIUI Rom, your IMEI details are stored in another partition (non volatile) and FlashAll will not touch them.
You are safe to follow this guide, and by the way you would not be able to unlock the bootloader (the official way) from this vendor Rom. So if you plan to do so later, here you go with this first step.

[Magisk] [EMUI 8.0] Root Honor View 10, Mate 10 (Pro) (Huawei Treble Devices)

Magisk has officially landed on the lovely Treble enabled Huawei devices! Props to Huawei reaching out and sent me a device for development
Instead of holding it off and wait till the next proper release, I decide to release it here so those willing to root their device can give it a try.
These Huawei Treble devices use an interesting setup: it no longer has a boot and recovery partition, but instead has a kernel partition, a ramdisk partition, and a recovery_ramdisk partition. Both boot and recovery share the same kernel, but with separate ramdisks on separate partitions. Since Magisk modifies the ramdisk in boot images, the patches will have to be applied to the ramdisk partition. This nature will very likely to also slightly change how custom recovery will be installed, my bet is similar to Pixel devices which ships with a full ramdisk image, and should be flashed to the recovery_ramdisk partition.
This build is only tested with Honor View 10, but it should work with Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro in theory since these devices are very similar.
Enough of the rambling, let's get right into it!
Instructions
If your device have TWRP support, just directly flash it via TWRP. For devices without TWRP yet (currently all Huawei Treble devices), you can follow the instructions below:
Install latest Magisk Manager from the Official Thread
Go to Settings > Update Settings > Update Channel > Custom, and insert the following URL: https://goo.gl/jefZKH
Follow the instructions of "Install Via Magisk Manager" in the main thread, but instead of providing the boot image (which these devices do NOT have), provide the stock ramdisk.img.
If you are using EU View 10 with model BKL-L09, you can download the stock ramdisk.img I extracted from official OTAs in the attachments
If you have stock ramdisk images for other devices, please share them and I'll add them to the OP.
Make sure you are installing Magisk-v15.4(1541), which is only available through the custom channel you've set in step 2.
Pull the patched image with adb pull /sdcard/MagiskManager/patched_boot.img, and flash the patched ramdisk via fastboot:
fastboot flash ramdisk patched_boot.img
Reboot and you shall have a properly rooted device passing SafetyNet, start playing with some Magisk modules!

I understand it shouldn't be if we follow steps in OP, but sometimes people miss a step or do something else, so what's the worst can we expect?

so you unlocked bootloader right? and also any honor features broke??? like camera modes etc etc...and share bootloader unlock process too...
@topjohnwu
Its doesn't work with my twrp 3.2.1-0 for P10plus. A older twrp version works.
It's a twrp version thing or do I need to add something?

Thanks for letting me know. So what are those software changes happened right after bootloader unlocking?
To install Magisk and gain root in your honor view 10 you have to unlock your bootloader first.
##Please backup your data before proceeding with the process. You will loose all your data if you unlock the bootloader. ##
Please follow below steps to unlock bootloader
1) Create a Huawei ID on this page https://goo.gl/GkkdxE if you don’t have one already.
2) After creating a Huawei id, fill out the details.
3) You will need your phone’s IMEI number, to know that dial * # * # 1357946 # * # * on the dialer app. Fill the required fields and click the Submit button.
4) Save the unlock code you received.
5) Now connect your Honor View 10 to the PC with a USB cable.
6) In the ADB command window, type the following command to boot your Honor View 10 into fastboot mode.
adb reboot bootloader
7) To unlock the bootloader, type the following command and hit Enter. Replace key with the unlock key you’ve previously saved. For example, fastboot oem unlock 44801904392841
fastboot oem unlock [unlock key]

FWIW the Honor View 10's ramdisk works on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. I would definitely not try that with any non-Kirin 970 device, though.

I know the procedure, but once you unlock the bootloader does any security features get disabled? And does it just wipe /data or including the internal storage?

If you got unlocked bootloader device then you ready to go.
try "a" if you got wifi issues then use "b".

How to backup imei?
Is there any way to flash TWRP permanently?
"With the new TWRP 3.6.0, things will be a little different. After you temporarily boot the TWRP image using the ‘Fastboot boot’ command, you will be able to see a Flash Current TWRP in the Advanced section of custom recovery."
Is this working?

Hi. Thanks for the development
I have a question. Assuming that I've flashed this twrp, how do I properly backup the entire phone, I mean which one will be selected in backup option . I want to flash some custom roms and restore the created backup if something goes wrong

NO advisable, Do not try this way!
I have a bad experience with this method, I have a Note 8 pro (Begonia), i did a rom backup with twrp, then flashed other custom roms, after few tested on various roms, i decided to get back to Miui rom, thinking of the easy way, I restored its Miui backup images via twrp, the phone bricked. In the end, I had to sent to xiaomi service center for repair.
I believe that was due to different version of Preloader of rom crashed with TWRP.
Of course, with some "MTK auth bypass softwares" available today, you may take the risk if you wish.
Could anyone provide here any already backup of Chopin stock recovery share it here, please?
Edit: Since there is no recovery partition, You had just re-flashing "boot.img" by twrp then you will restore stock recovery and that operation will also let you lose your root.

How To Guide Revert Realme GT 5G back to Stock CN ROM and Lock Bootloader

Hi everyone! Unfortunately I have had to revert back to the stock china rom my phone came with due to google cracking down on rooted/altered devices, and apps such as snapchat and google pay are essential for me. I was told if I locked my bootloader while on global firmware, it would brick, so here is a tutorial to revert your realme GT back to the stock china rom.
Make sure you have all software necessary - China Rollback file A24 and twrp 3.6.0 v2 from here (thanks to qiurigao), put those files in your sdk platform tools folder, and adb and fastboot drivers, sdk platform tools
Make sure USB debugging is enabled on your device.
1.boot to fastboot mode
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
1.boot to twrp
fastboot boot twrp-3.6.0-V2.img
Click to collapse
Once you are in twrp, you can change language by tapping the setting icon in the corner, and then tapping the globe and english.
2. push ROM file to /data/ota.zip
adb push RMX2202_11_A.24_ROLLBACK_Android11.zip /data/ota.zip
Click to collapse
3. TWRP install /data/ota.zip
adb shell "twrp install /data/ota.zip"
Click to collapse
Don't worry about the red text.
4. Go stock Recovery Format data
adb reboot recovery
Click to collapse
5. once in realme recovery, you can tap english, and proceed to wipe data.
6. set up phone and turn on developer options to check that usb debugging is still enabled.
7. Boot into fastboot mode
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
8. Lock the bootloader
fastboot flashing lock
Click to collapse
select yes to locking and wiping data.
Now your phone is set back to stock firmware, with no modifications. Google Pay works again! (ofc you have to install the play store and everything but it works again ) There will be lots of updates since the rollback file is quite old.
I actually had a china version as well but after some manipulations I have successfully locked the bootloader on Indian/Russian firmware, and the Google Pay and services work perfect which is really good as the Google services were completely useless in china rom.

Oh nice! Could you tell me about these 'manipulations' ? I don't think I'll do anything like that ever again but just for my curiosity

1. The phone must be with an unlocked bootloader without a lock code on the screen. (software version at this point was C15 EU)
2. First we put this file into internal memory, RMX2202_ROLLBACK_A14_IN.
3. We go into FastBoot, boot into TWRP with the command
fastboot boot twrp.img
IMPORTANT!!! Categorically do not flash TWRP with the FLASH command
This TWRP is wildly slow, the commands are late, I pressed wait 5-6 seconds.
4. Next, if in TWRP we see the file RMX2202_ROLLBACK_A14_IN, we flash it, be sure to check the box "Force install stock payload rom"
if the file is not visible in TWRP, then commands via ADB
We copy the firmware after renaming it to RMX2202_ROLLBACK.zip to the /data/ota.zip directory with the command:
adb push RMX2202_ROLLBACK.zip /data/ota.zip
Installing a previously copied file via TWRP:
adb shell "twrp install /data/ota.zip"
5. We reboot into the stock recovery manually, or with the command:
adb reboot recovery
and do Format Data (Congratulations to you India A14) you can enable, activate
6. Using OppoRealme-OFP-Flash_1.0-x64_Windows, flash 504040RMX2202export_11_A.16_2021101902310291 (The flasher is launched via the command line, there we select the region we want and then the first item under the number 0 so that it flashes clean)
(I flash for the first time with the label IN-India (When I flash on the IN region for the first time with a flasher, the body fell into FastBoot in the process and the command line was waiting and the process did not go, then I drove it into FastBoot with the three buttons and the process continued.), activated the body, and flashed it over the same version, but with the tag RU-Russia.I think you can immediately flash on RU, skipping the step with flashing to IN, but here it is already according to your desire, if you want exactly like me, then do this)
7. Downloaded and installed all OTA updates. (You can download OTA update c16 in zip and flash through three points, after enabling developer mode)
8. IMPORTANT!!! lock the bootloader after all the updates, the phone itself wiped again, it is normal.
This was taken from another forum and translated in Google translate but I think you'll understand what is going on.
Do you have a video showing the step by step for this procedure? I have a realme GT 5G that has a global ROM, I would like to use the Chinese Rom to be able to use NFC.

Sorry, I'm afraid not. The steps listed are the same as the process to convert your phone to the global rom, it's just that you lock the bootloader at the end. So if you remember that, it's just that but locking the bootloader at the end.

Sorry man I'm not sure for international devices, but if you're certain that your realme was originally a chinese model, you can do this? I would ask some other threads as well

Non-international device, it is Chinese. in which a global rom was added by the aliexpress seller. I want to go back to the CN factory rom following your tutorial.
installing the rollback rom is simple? Can there be any problems during the installation?

Your tutorial works perfectly, thank you very much! this CN ROM does not work the 5G ? I don't see the option to change the network type. App notifications work correctly?

Hi, for notifications I ended up having to check permissions for notifications on every app I installed, I'm not sure why but I had to do that
For 5G I had to wait like a week one time, it might be because you got your realme recently but just wait a bit and do a restart
