Hi, I'm trying to get root access to my phone, and have installed ADB and everything, and it's all working, but when i try and boot my phone in recovery it just reboots it normally.
That command doesn't work for every phone. Is it an LG?
No it's a sony xperia z3 compact
Have you tried the common android vol+ (sometimes vol-) and pwr buttons combination to get into the boot menu that lets you choose recovery?

My guess is you are pressing on the POWER button too long, which will cause the tablet to power on, show the SONY logo, then power off. Try continuously pressing the VOL+ button and momentarily pressing the POWER button. Release the VOL+ button when you see the RECOVERY MODE screen.

The Sony Tablet S is not listed as a compatible product at the ClockworkMod ROM Manager web site. The Sony Tablet P and Xperia Tablet S are also not listed as compatible products.

Press Vol+ and Power until the SONY Logo appears and then release only the Power Button while still pressing Vol+.
Worked for me on my Xperia Tablet S.
It's rooted, but I didn't yet install any recovery. It gives me the standard recovery screen.
I just unlocked my bootloader and flashed CWMT recovery but whenever I try to boot into recovery the phone simply boots back into the factory Rom. I've tried turning off fastboot in the Rom settings but that didn't seem to help... Any ideas?
Edit: alright I can boot into recovery but it's under factory reset for some reason.adb Reboot recovery doesn't work.
Turn off fastboot. In settings.

Did you try to manually go into recovery?
- turn off phone
-press and hold volume down then press power button until the phone boots into bootloader
- use volume buttons to scroll down to recovery,
- tap power button to select recovery
and it should boot into your custom recovery

That's when it happens. I'll try manually booting into recovery, but it just ends up booting normally.

I've tried both restarting in bootloader and powering down and turning the phone back on in bootloader. Both times, from the bootloader menu, when I select recovery it goes the the 'htc' screen with 'entering recovery' at the top for about 7 seconds then goes black and boots normally.

when you select recovery and it goes to the white htc screen, at the very top does it say.. "entering recovery" ?
If not, you might try using fastboot to push a custom recovery to your phone again...
If it kicks you out of recovery as it boots into it, go into the bootloader, fastboot, and run 'fastboot erase cache' on the computer. Of course, ADB has to be setup first before running that command. I've had this happen to me a few times already, and 'fastboot erase cache' always made it work again.
Hi I need help.
After Flashin a new ROM it was not be possible to get in the fastboot mode. Pressing down the Power button and the Vol Down button start first the recovery mode than i see for a sec a CWM Screen an than the screen is black and nothing happend.
And as addon the device not boot. Sometimes i get a reboot
Any ideas how I can fix that? Is there a more low level solution?
Thanks,

OK, with testing I found a solution for the problem
Here the steps what i've done:
1. Load the Flyer with the power supply unit.
2. From PC Commandpromt. Start fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. I've get the message "waiting for devices". I've used a old CWM 4 reciovery Image
3. Now connect the Flyer and Start with "Power + Down". Here was the surprise that now the Bootloop stops and i see now the Boot Menu. So I change here to fastboot and flash the recovery Image new.
4 Rebbot now an voila bo boot more and I can use the normal cwm recovery mechanism to recovery one of my old images... Perfekt
I believe i have installed the twrp.img onto my Xperia tablet Z wifi only. But it did not reboot into recovery mode - the screen where i could use to flash SuperSU. Please help.
I have tried restarting with long pressing on volume up, restarting with long pressing on volume down, and using the cmd to write the command line of ‘adb reboot bootloader’.

try pushing Vol+ or Vol- buttons after Sony logo on boot.
I accidently flashed the lineage 16 recovery instead of lineage 17.1 recovery. I tried to install the 17.1 update through updater but my phone stuck into recovery mode. Neither I can boot into bootloader nor to android. I can''t flash anything. Power + volume down and connect the cable also not working to go into bootloader. Even bootloader option within the recovery also brings me back to recovery mode. ...adb devices command is also showing "device offline". Any help will be appreciated.
you should start from the beginning
is your bootloader still unlocked?

I can't go into fastboot mode. Is there any other way to check it?
Thank you @stukka2006 for replying me. I guess I saved my phone. So here what I did-
1. Extracted the stock firmware (Luckily I had one but can be found in the forum) and copied the dload folder to sdcard (as I was not able to access internal storage). (@stukka2006 your hint to start from the beginning)
2. Power off the phone and pressed Both volume buttons + power button simultaneously. After the vibration I left the power button while still holding both vol buttons till software update screen appears. But software update failed. So I just touched the reboot now option. The phone rebooted to fastboot mode.
3. I installed TWRP but was not able to reboot to recovery through commands and system reboot command brings me back to fastboot mode. So I again power off the device with cable connected and pressed both vol buttons. This time phone showed recovery screen (Should have worked with normal button shortcuts also, I guess) and I flashed the rom and rebooted normally.
Everything is working fine now except that I lost the data.
Happy you got all clear my friend !!!

You are quite lucky to have the stock ROM.
