MAMEPlus for Android???? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was wondering if there ever was a MAME+ for Android? There is a Emulator Frontend for Android called Happy Chick which is put on a lot of Chinese Android Devices like the GPD Systems. But 1 of the Emulators it list is MAMEPlus. But when I try to DL it, the App Crashes.

Have you tried gamesome from the playstore? I use mame4droid, the GUI is great on my 7" tab.

[Q] Running an Android App in Windows 7/8

Hi.
My company is considering the purchase of an Android app (minimum Andriod 2.1) for our salesforce and wants to buy some Android tablets to run it. Regarding its functionalities, we're talking about an app that collects barcodes through the tablet camera and sends them to our network using our VPN over 3G network.
Mi idea was to wait a few months more and instead of buying the tablets, renew the laptops and buy some W8 tablets and run the application over them and that's where I have a couple of doubts:
1) How can I emulate Android in Windows 7/8?
2) Is there any possibility for the emulator to recognize both the tablet camera and the 3G SIM for communications?
Thanks for your help.

See here, Bluestacks
Hi.
Thanks for your answer! I had already came across bluestacks, but since the beta isn't available yet it's hard to find out if it will also emulate the hardware.
Thanks again.

No prob man! Sorry, I didn't realize that they pulled the alpha from their site. A quick google search will get you the alpha though if you wanted to give that a shot.
Download and install the Android SDK, and use the emulator that comes with it. You can set it up to emulate a phone or a tablet. Then transfer APK files through the Android Eclipse plugin.

Bluestacks cydia alternative?

so is it impossible to download atleast ifile for free? it's the only app i need and unfortunately i don't have a way to pay (and also dont feel great about paying for it)
i tried to find a cydia alternative since the demo wont allow me to manage accounts on bluestacks, some sort of source code inputting app but failed miserably,
i tried alternatives for ifile but it didnt go too well, none of them seem to be able to find the var>mobile>documents folder, all of them were horrible
and i dont know how to link it with the computer for filebox etc to work.
i wanted to jailbreak bluestacks but it just had to be an android emulator.. too bad there isn't any iphone emulator so i could install .ipa extensions.. jailbreak it etc
they just had to make a bunch of android emulators zzz

Have anyone tried the Crossover app on your Yoga book (Wine)

Crossover is actually a commercial version of Wine with some extras. It's an application that, makes it possible to run Windows programs (.exe files) on other OS. It only works with Chromebook/Android devices with X86 processors
https://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover-android
I have installed it on my Yoga Book and i got Steam and Unreal Tournament 2004 running. I also tried with Unreal Tournament GOTY and Battlefield, but i ran into some problems.
Does Krita work ?
I am thinking about installing Crossover. When I did the basic research I got confused about it running on Chrome vs. Android. Thanks for pointing out it works on the Yoga Book. I have applied and hope to get approved for the beta. I'll report back if and when I do.

I don't know, because i can't run or install exe files. I can only run programs and games installed by the build in installer or steam. I wrote that as a feedback to the developer. Also that we can't use Esc key since it acts as the back button.
what about the windows performance then and the required space?

I havent mesaured the performance. But you can expect it to a lot better than dosbox, since it's not actually an Emulator That is also why your hardware need to have a x86 processor. It's also early to judge the performance, since it's still in Alpha.
It doesn't require a lot of space. I can't see how much space it uses since i have a couple games installed. The app itself were around 70 mb when i installed it.
FTL doesn't start up, sadly

Ok i just figured out, that the exe files must placed on the c drive to be runable. Krita x86 has a critical error when i try to run it. It might be fixed, since the app only is in alpha stage. I tried to run it as windows 7 and windows 10. maybe i need to manually install some aditional programs or modules like directx
Just got a reply from the developer. I should look out for an update with improved application compatibility. Sounds great to me
Crossover is using 416 mb space with nothing installed in it.
Thanks for sharing this info. I signed up and hope to test drive this on my Yoga Book too.
Hope to have some Windows photoshop action on the go.
Could not get Windows Gimp to install. Is there a lean version of photoshop or Lightroom that works with crossover Android yet?
There is a new update out. It should improve on compability, and it has a new interface.
How long did take for the beta invite to come? I would really like to give this a go, and i'm checking my email hourly.
Couple days

What is the procedure to installing crossover on to the yoga book? I'm interested in using it but I'm a little confused on the installation process cay you help/advise please. Si
Installing of crossover is just an install from the play store, once your accepted on the beta test. (It wont appear before.) After that, you then install the windows apps your interested in, from within Crossover. Steam works well if that's what your after. Tried a few games. I could not get any versions of IE to work yet. Not that most people would want to. Otherwise it depends what windows apps you want.
Office does not work, at least the 2016 or 2013 version
Hello
Have anyone had any success in using Crossover? After the last update I can't get steam to run anymore. And I have C&C Red alert running. But it's running in a tiny window and the window goes black when the menu appear. I have been playing around with the resolution setting, but it doesn't help.

Guy from Codeveawers replied
"A lot of the lightweight OpenGLES 3D graphics system that Android uses hasn't been connected into the corresponding OpenGL hooks that Crossover Android is trying to translate yet. So a lot of game titles will display a blank black screen or distorted graphics when run in Crossover Android. We continue to work on this and it should be able to run more games correctly over time."
I can run Finale 2014, Gimp 2.0, Libre Office, Text games editor, Mozilla Firefox, Note pad++.
I have tried games, but only Freeciv works good.
I have Zenfone 2 on RR 5.7.4.

Easiest Windows Android Emulator For Particular Application

Hello,
I am trying to determine the simplest and easiest to install Windows Android emulator for my particular application. My parents don't have a smartphone, but they recently purchased a smartplug for one their electrical heaters, and the only way to remotely control the smartplug is via an app (the smartplug does not have a way to control via web browser).
After looking at the following list (https://www.androidauthority.com/best-android-emulators-for-pc-655308/), many of these are for people who want to play Android games on a PC (which is overkill for what I need). I am try to determine which of these is easiest to use and install for our simple application? I will send my parents the instructions to set up on their Windows 10 PC after I first test on my PC.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2. Genymotion desktop for commercial uses(paid)
3.Genymotion for personal uses (free)
The free genymotion version link is https://www.genymotion.com/fun-zone/
If it helped u hit a thanks:good:
Thank you.... I have installed Genymotion and it seems to be very easy and works! Thanks again.
Hi.... just an update to this post. After a couple of months of using Genymotion, it looks like it is now asking for money $$ to continue using the free or personal version?
Does this make sense? I don't recall it mentioning anything about a temporary trial period.
Thanks

Apple TV +

Anyone have a working app for the Shield as of yet for Apple TV +?
Cheers
Apple TV+ 1.2 apk works but when you go to sign in it requires something from the Fire TV firmware to complete.
I tried it but it doesn't work.
None work right now... seems most are counting on the release of Sony's APK for it to work.
Hi,
is there still no way to play Apple TV+ Stuff on Android without an iPhone/iPad?
Every newest version from the FireTV won´t work cause i need to install the latest FireTV Firmware ...

you can use browser then cast it to nstv or open tv.apple.com in a browser
Sorry for a stupid question and please don't link anything here if it violates any rules:
Where do people find a legit version of the APK?
Thinking about trying this on my Philips Android-TV and if that fails on my Odroid-C4 running Android.
Don't know how kinky sideloading an app is usually i.e. trying the APK for Shield / FireTV wouldn't work on either my TV (pref.) or "HTPC"?
Sorry for hijacking a bit, will do a separate thread if it is required (and allowed).

personally i dont have time to teach the basics on adb sideloading an app.. it should work on shield easily if ur connected to it properly and running the right commands in adb..
theres thousands of guides online about adb and adb install.. the apple tv+ app doesnt work on nstv however at this time so even sideloading the app will not work.. the only method ive used is to use web browser then go to tv.apple.com and play the videos through the web browser

I think you might have misunderstood what I was getting at;
I know how to sideload an app but it was just a general question on how kinky an app developed for a certain device (ex. FireTV / Shield) can be on another device (Philips implementation of Android-TV) etc. since they both are running Android.
My TV running Android-TV hasn't implemented something called "Android Mode Setting API" for instance and that caused some issues with an app (according to the devs).
So I can totally get that even through having the same platform - Android - different hardware can treat it differently depending on different hardware specs or implementations of Android.
However the question as where to find a reputable source of the APK remains, just googling it reveals a lot of different download locations where a lot seems really...sketchy.

LG 2018 model TVs just got an update that gives them Apple TV app, so may be there is hope for Android TV devices
LG rolls out Apple TV app for select 2018 smart TVs:
https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/08/20/lg-rolls-out-apple-tv-app-for-select-2018-smart-tvs
Any updates to this? i was about to start a new thread, when i came across this.
I got a free year of Apple TV+ with my iPhone 11 Pro Max for work, and just recently switched from Roku to the Chromecast with Google TV.
My fiancé got into one of the shows and i'd like to sideload the APK, if possible, if there's one that works.
Well, there is strictly Android TV version now (it was released with software update for some Sony TVs), but it also fails to work on other devices (says software update is required) - Source.
