I got a new LG G5 (international variant) and I have been experiencing freezing for 2 seconds on any screen and in any app. Any suggestions?
Maybe do a reset ?

I did a factory reset and still problem persists, it is software related I guess
Check for an update, clean cache, if doesn't work then replace it My G5 is Simply BLAZING FAST 3 months without one single hiccup, lag or freezing
I am also experiencing this. Don't know what caused it but I also believe it's software related. Do you have greenify installed?

It is like a hiccup in the software, otherwise the phone is fast. Should I install greenify? I have done a factory reset and also cleared the cache. It is very annoying actually
Is anyone else experiencing this?
What variant?(H860N , H850)

I am using the H860. It seems to be fixed as I downloaded the LG bridge and it detected that there is a new software update of 2.25 GB which wasn't detected by OTA. So far the phone is super smooth without any lags or hiccups. Will continue trying and update the thread if anything occurs

No, I thought it maybe had something to do with greenify. But if you experience the same and you don't have greenify installed... My model is h850 with the latest software V10e. Not unlocked, just disabled some LG apps. For me, the system gets unresponsive for some seconds and then everything is back to normal. I think it also does the action what you do on the screen while being unresponsive. As you said, it is like a hiccup.

Sounds like a memory addressing issue, whether caused by the software or perhaps defective RAM modules.. I used to get problems like that in Windows operating systems when I'd overclock memory to unstable levels, similarly the same was possible from some IRQ conflicts (software). I know that is different from Android but I would assume there are similar forces at play.

What would you do? Reset? Or is there any app that can check ram failures?

I'm not aware of an app for Android that can do a real memory stress test (like Prime95 does for x86/ Windows OS). There's Kernel Auditor which could give you an idea of the governor settings and I/O schedulers that your kernel is using (a possible software culprit) and let you make some adjusts to see if it resolves the hiccups, but I'm afraid that will do you no good if you don't have root.
At op. Did you by any chance activate the force GPU rendering? I turned mine of yesterday and so far, no hiccups. But we'll see, I did not test it that long.
So far after the update no hiccups or lags and the phone is working perfectly. I have attached the version of the software
For me it was the Force GPU Rendering option in Developer settings.

Hi Guys!,
So I recently updated to the new 5.0.1 update (I'm sure most of you did) on my LG G Watch and I've been getting lag issues that I've never gotten on the Kitkat version.
So I did a factory reset and still were getting issues. Most of the lag has to do with getting around the watch as well as the "Android System not responding" popup message. I think
the lag has to do with memory, like if I use a bunch of apps at once it would slow down but I could never prove that. I'm not rooted or anything. Anyways,
[Q] I would like to see if you guys were also noticing lag or performance weakening after the 5.0.1 update? Let me know!
Thanks,
Your buddy Andrew!
(this is my first thread, if I did this wrong or if this is in the wrong place let me know)
I'm seeing the same... Probably another update coming soon
Try uninstalling some Wear apps it could very be that some apps are not ready for Android 5.0
On mine it works actually A LOT MORE fluid too!
I had this same problem after taking the update. So I reset the watch, cleared the data on the phone's wear app, and resync'd all the apps.
One of those things fixed the problem.

its work , thank you
Any stuttering or lag issues I had were gone after flashing the arter kernel, if that helps
I've noticed at first it was working great. I'm noticing wear aware is damn near useless. That alone tells me it isn't communicating as often or been trimmed back on cpu wakelocks or something
As the title says, my games are closing itself after some time. This is happening for about 4 months now. I tried flashing few different ROMs (I did hard-reset each time, completely wiping internal storage), and tried flashing few different kernels, but the problem still appears. It's not issue with RAM because I'm monitoring RAM when it happens, it always has ~100MB free.
I'm currently running Resurrection Remix LP v5.5.9 ROM with ArchiKernel v3.0.31. I don't know anymore what may cause the problem, I tried everything to fix it, but it still appears. Problem wasn't appearing before, but now it is in almost every game. Every other app or while outside the games, everything works smoothly like fresh factory reset was performed. I don't have much apps running in background and I don't run any optimisation apps (like RAM cleaner or app killer in background). Thanks in advance!

Why would I want to stop some apps? I want them to run. What does it have to do with my original post? Please don't spam if you can't help.

If you really think this is Spam I won't help you any more. If you know anything about Android and read my answer you should be able to solve the Problem.

Classic Oom behaviour. Even though you think it isnt ram related you'll probably find oom errors in logcat.
S3 i9300 doesn't cope with any os higher than jellybean. Hence why samsung never issued one.
If you encounter these issues on a jellybean rom then the rom is rubbish.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Hi Everyone,
My v30 have been lagging for quite some time and didn't bother to find out what is going on. So I recently factory reset but it still feel quite lag in term of surfing net and playing mlbb. May I know what should I do or what do you guys suggest ?
LG stock Android
Model: LG-H930DS
Android version: 9
Kernel version: 4.4.153
Software version: V30c-SEA-XX
Thank You
Try a network reset.
Clear system cache.
Install Karma Firewall and see if an app or service is hogging the bandwidth.

Hi Blackhawk,
sorry that I didn’t mention clearly what kind of lag I’m experiencing. The lag I’m facing is not internet but the scrolling of internet and playing games frame rates not smooth. I see on YouTube that some people do use v30 to play games with smooth frame rates while my is set to the lowest quality in game but still lag.
Try clearing the system cache.
Try a hard reboot.
A 3rd party app might have alter hidden settings.
Was the change coinciding with a recent app install/uninstall?
Sometimes even after uninstalling the app the setting change remains.
If that's the case a factory reset may be needed... if you get tired of chasing it.
What's ram usage look like? Are any apps or services using excessive ram? Or shouldn't be there?
Play with it.

Hi Blackhawk,
I have tried factory reset 3 times. But still lag. My mobile is always free 1.6gb out of 4.0gb. I’m not sure what apps is hogging or causing the lag. I have tried uninstall some of the bloat ware that come with it like the telco apps, Deezer , google office.

Meh, factory resets are best used very sparingly like after a major firmware update, malware or OS is damaged. If the firmware is suspect at this point a reflash serve a better purpose.
Your ram usage sounds nominal.
What's the SOT like?
Install DevChek and examine the hardware etc.
Is it using excessive battery/cpu cycles at idle?
Install Karma Firewall, it's freeware and uses almost no battery.
You need to try to isolate the cause.

DevChek. Load Karma Firewall and use it's logging feature to it what apps are accessing the internet and how often.
Maybe something is goofed up with the internet connection settings due to changes on the carrier side. Access point names is as far as I've had to play with that.
Hi BlackHawk,
My phone start to work slightly better after I block some of the apps connection. But lagging is still there when I play graphic intensive. Phone doesn’t feel hot while playing game or maybe it’s cpu/gpu throttling.
Thank You for your advice. I will continue to observe the phone condition.
That's strange. Did you do any firmware updates*?
Is it internet connection related maybe ie online games?
Have the carrier do a network reset on their end.
Make sure the access point names are correct.
Double check all connection settings.
Maybe try replacing the sim card, handle like a stick of ram. They are susceptible to ESD damage, a failure maybe delayed or partial. They are dirt cheap but can cause a lot of trouble if not handled properly. Very few people handle them correctly. Like ram sticks they're nearly 100% good when they leave the factory until the end user gets them...
*Maybe the firmware got corrupted or the update was a dud, try reflashing to the same original rom.

Unfortunately I'm just as green. Never had to do it. Make sure it's not the internet connection causing the issues.
Google Play Services is causing high CPU usage and massive battery drain( >25%/h) continuously. Battery temps. cross 40°C in no time. The issue persisted upon rebooting the device. Had to finally freeze it.
In FKM, I/O section shows constant 20-25MB/s writes. "com.google.android.gms" and "com.google.android.gms.persistent" are the two processes causing consistently high CPU usage. There's also "jbd2/sda1-8".
After booting into Safe Mode the issue didn't persist. But still no idea what exactly is causing this issue.
Poco F1 running crDroid 7.14. This issue cropped up the first time ever in build 7.7. Only resolved after dirty flashing 7.13. NikGApps Core version.
Temp. fix : type the following in any Terminal emulator of your choice with the recommendation being Termux
su
pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
If not rooted maybe try via ADB.
Issue arises due to spoofing Pixels for the unlimited Google Photos backup hack. Real solution is either removal of the PixelPropsUtils framework or it's suitable modification. It's all in the hands of the ROM devs.
Anyone?
Bump!
I am experiencing exaclty same issue. gms using lot of cpu and writes.
I had to finally dirty flash the 7.15 build to fix it. Wiping System is necessary as a Poco X3 Pro user also running crDroid 7.x reported that without wiping System the issue persisted. It doesn't seem to be a specific GApps issue as he was using FlameGApps Basic.
I tried using flamegapps, nikgapps. it happens even at first boot. I am now using phone without gapps to prevent phone heating.

It didn't recur at first boot in my case, about a few weeks later all of a sudden. If you did a dirty flash the System partition was wiped, right? If it was a clean flash then I have no idea. Better than using no GApps is to freeze it if rooted or disable it if not I guess.
If this happens after sometime again I will give Open GApps or MindtheGApps a try.
BTW which device and which ROM?
I had posted the log elsewhere as well but unfortunately it received no response.
It happened to cause the isssue after few weeks for me too. But at this time, it started do it even after a clean flash with none of 3rd party apps installed.
I have wiped everything (system - addon.d and data) before flashing. doesn't help.

Oh! It's pretty concerning that even a clean flash didn't fix it. Unless someone takes a look at the log I don't think it's possible to ferret out the root cause. I tried by freezing every user app but to no avail.
@arunsai123 Which Magisk version are you using?
Same is happening to me
Someone help!!
Device - poco F1
Rom - pixel experience Android 12
Interestingly when the device was unplugged and idle this bug had little to no impact on the idle drain. Probably because when unplugged and the screen if turned off I have set it up in Tasker to enable Battery Saver ( as it seems to help lower idle drain) and GMS Doze is enabled in NikGApps.

Sadly battery saver is not working for me.
I have encountered this thing on the last rom too .. I thought it was a rom issue
So have to change it to this one and Now, after a month of usage it started happening all of a sudden.

I had posted this issue on Reddit as well but like here it unfortunately didn't attract the attention of anyone knowledgeable enough and/or willing to take a look at the log.
Every night goes like,
Battery usage stats and a screenshot of Franco kernel manager process tab ..
Things I have tried
1. Uninstalling every Gapps updates
2. Cache partition cleaned
3. Removing Google accounts completely turned off sync
It seems it was the most severe in my case probably due to a second misbehaving process namely "com.google.android.gms.persistent" besides "com.google.android.gms". But idle drain wasn't affected. Only temporary fix other than a dirty flash involving wiping the System partition is to freeze Google Play Services. But it's not viable as paid apps like Tasker, FKM etc. stop working.
If and when this happens next I am gonna try LiteGApps, MindtheGApps or even Open GApps.

I don't think so this version of rom supports a dirty flash .
Last time I have done that my phone got bricked.
So, it's out of the question?
other than that I am not trying to again flash clean rom because it's gonna come again, I think.

I guess it's because of encryption. MicroG should be immune to this issue probably but quite a few apps just don't work.

This rom just not compaitable with dirty flashing I tried it before but goes black screen or sometimes it doesn't even boot up.
Maybe because it's an initial build that's why or so..
I couldn't recall the exact issue that was before with the dirty flashing this rom or the previous one was oofgang poco pixel port.
Btw
I have done the Tasker think you did before it's , I think stable now for the time being.

Does it help during active usage i.e. when the display is on, though? I hadn't checked.
Hi. I have a A21s model A217M, and I've been running into issues with it for a while. The phone randomly reboots when doing light multitasking, such as switching between my browser and WhatsApp. I've already done the usual procedure, such as doing a factory reset and reflashing the stock ROM with Odin, with no sucess. Anyone here has faced the same issue, and got rid of it? Thanks in advance.
Which apps specifically or is it with any app?
The problem maybe be the app. I would never install any social media apps... browser access only.
This is very atypical behavior for a Samsung... at least it use to be.
Any app, basically. It's really odd indeed.

You already reflashed it. May be a hardware failure.
I would say it is a quite recent issue. I checked my last dmesgs and they seem to pinpoint to a memory allocation failure.
