So I'm using this new Swiftmoji keyboard and they have a feature where it'll show the diverse emoji after you long press. Problem is this feature only works with Android nougat. I have a rooted device with marshmallow, and the modified emojis to show diverse emojis, and it works fine with Google, and chrooma keyboard. My question is how can I "trick" the keyboard to think I'm on nougat to get this feature working? I've tried editing the build number in the build.prop but it didn't work.

Title really says it all. It would be really nice, especially for the devs, but i really do not want to use a seperate keyboard and messaging app for Emoji.
So all in all, i tried to use emoji on the stock ICS messaging app with GO Keyboard with Emoji add on. I do not know if it sent correctly, but on my phone it appeared as the classic yet annoying [].
Basically requesting a messaging app with emoji support, and a keyboard with either to additional emoji support app, or having it built straight in like the Iphone.
Thanks...
I do not know if I understood but that emoji works: it is necessary that the two people talking together, have the emoji plugin .
i like GO Keyboard and ICS keyboard is very effective
There's an emoji font so you can see emoji instead of boxes. But go sms/chomp sms has emoji plugin support.

Ever since I updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, I've noticed a few missing/black and white emojis.
The most prominent missing emojis are ✌ (peace sign), ☝ (hand with finger pointing up), and ♥ (the classic heart).
Since then, I have updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the emojis are still missing.
My attached screenshots are from Android 5.1 Lollipop.
In KitKat, all the missing emojis were there, and were all colored. I have no idea why Lollipop removed them. All of these emojis show up in Google Keyboard, making it odd and inconsistent to see missing emojis.
Is there a fix for this?

Go to this thread and download "Fix For Marshmallow Emoji" or "Fix For Emoji Lollipop" depending on your system
sorry for my english, i'm from mexico. And I am also new to xda :silly:
Will that fix the black and white emojis?
(I accidentally hit Q&A instead of regular post)
I am on the hunt for a new keyboard but have a few requirements.
I am currently using Jelly Bean Keyboard but it's showing its age and not playing well on Lollipop and the Dev appears to have abandoned it.
I like the long press on the letters for frequently used characters. I like that it has emojis as well as emoticon (standard text messaging symbol smileys). I like the swype. It is basically, actually exactly the CyanogenMod/AOSP Keyboard and would like something similar. All the keys are in convienient spots unlike other keyboards with long press. Importantly also it has a dedicated number row at the top.
I tried porting the CM keyboard by extracting the APK and latinime but it always either crashed or swipe didn't work.
Before you answer, Google Keyboard ≠ AOSP Keyboard.
I'm having an issue where the new Unicode 9.0 emoji are missing from my Gboard. I have updated the keyboard to the latest version as of the time of this post (6.0.79) and I can see the new emoji in apps and browsers it's just that the keyboard does NOT display them. I have also noticed that I'm missing the frowning face emoji (this one ☹)
I'm using a Galaxy S6 edge running on Android 6.0.1.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Or should I simply just wait for Google to update the keyboard?
I came across your post by searching for a solution on Google. I have the exact same issue with Gboard 6.1 + Nougat 7.0 on my Galaxy S7 edge. Swiftkey displays the new emojis correctly though (stock Google ones, iOS 10 ones, etc.) but Gboard doesn't.
Does anyone know which component updates emoji these days? It's fairly confusing. It used to come with Android OS updates, but they've changed things up since then.
Case in point - in the last few days I suddenly have the redesigns (most of which are for hand gestures) that were first revealed (not released for Android) back in September. My phone can also read and display the new emojis that are part of Emoji 15, also shown at the same time in September. I can also copy and paste them. However, none of the new ones show up in my Gboard, so I cannot type them. My Gboard was last updated in January, with no new updates pending (ver 12.6.02) . I am on Jan 5 OS, and Feb 1 Google Play Services.
What gave me the redesigns? Why don't I have the new ones? How does this work?
