Anyone get either of these RemoteDroid apps working on their Nook?

RemoteDroid:

gPad

I can't get either one to connect (could be my firewall, but I allowed the UDP port mentioned for the first one and It still won't work) via wireless.
The second one supports Bluetooth but that won't connect either.
Any thoughts?

[Q] Can you access webtop from a laptop? Also tethering question.

The questions are:
1. Can I access webtop on my laptop if I connect to the phone via usb or bluetooth?
2. Can I tether my computer to the phone via the bluetooth or usb cable?
This might seems redundant but I dont seem to find the answer to this. Can you access webtop via a laptop when you connect the phone with an usb cable? The reason I ask is because sometimes I would like to browse the net while Im at work and that would be the easiest way to actually do using the laptop screen and a external mouse/keyboard. I dont really want to just buy a monitor to take to the office.
Also, is my understanding that the atrix also works like a hotspot that will provide wifi access via the phone data connection. While that is great for most of the times that will not work when I am working with a virtual computer and I dont want to share the main pc connection. With my blackberry I just use the usb connection to tether the virtual pc and that way whatever internet use I do on the virtual computer does not flow via the corporate network.

1.) Maybe the "Motorola Phone Portal" app that came on the phone would work for what you want?.
2.) yes and yes. For wifi or bt use the "Wifi Tether" app, formerly "Wireless Tether". For USB use the "Wired Tether" app. You can find both with a quick google search, not in the market.
It dont seems that the motorola phone portal will do what I want which is using the laptop to browse the phone browser. I hate to tether specially since it seems AT&T is cracking on that but it seems is the only way to use my phone to browse the net on a larger screen. Eihter that or buying another monitor....
If you use the above apps you will not get caught tethering, I speak from experience. It's the custom APNs that are likely to get you in trouble.

[Q] PC Remote Control over WiFi

as it shows on the title,is it possible to connect my android based device to my PC via wifi hotspot and control it from my phone, its like teamviewer but without having to connect to the internet ,i.e the connection would be between the pc and cellphone directly.
i hope my point is clear.
Sometime like RDP will work over a LAN, but having never used a wifi hotspot I'm not exactly sure if the connection would be correct. Connected to the same router a phone would be able to use RDP to connect to the local IP (usually 192.168.x.x) without ever going through the internet.
If I tether my Droid 3 and the Windows 7 laptop with bluetooth this method works with any app that supports Microsoft RDP. You would also need to be using a Windows version with RDP host support to get this to work.
thanks for your reply
I'm looking for a remote desktop app for the Android that uses (or is able to use) a bluetooth connection to connect. Or if that's not possible, a local wifi connection, ie: direct from my droid to my computer's wireless card, using only my local area connection.
Does anyone know an app that will do this?
It needs to give me the full screen of my computer, so nothing like Gmote or any remotes used for media centers will work for this project. I'd also like it to keep my screen on the computer while I use it, instead of locking it up.
Basically PhonemyPC but without having to use the internet to do so.
My reasons? I'm trying to connect to and control my Carputer running Centrafuse in my Eclipse. So that I can leave the car running, go outside of it, and pull up the full screen to push buttons and control the car's media center (and more) or even from the back seat. You know.. for the ladies Without having to send every command over 3g to verizon's servers, back out to a tower, and back into my carputer, slowing things waaay down. Thanks!
Well you could use Microsoft RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) if your carputer is running Windows XP Pro or 7 Pro/Ultimate. Bluetooth support is better on Windows 7 as it has a newer stack. RDP host functionality is not included in home edition versions of Windows. The biggest advantage of Microsoft RDP is it doesn't require any extra software on the Windows host and is relatively easy to connect to. For the Android device, just search the market for your any remote desktop program that supports RDP. A disadvantage to RDP is that it sends the host system back to the Windows login screen when a remote session starts. This is a security feature so others can't see what you are doing and I don't think it can be disabled.
You could also try VNC, its similar to RDP and will work on other OSes, home versions of Windows, Linux, etc.
Either bluetooth or wifi tether (which is basically ad-hoc) should work. If the computer can surf the internet from the phone then it must be getting a local IP assigned.
Thanks for your suggestion.
However, this doesn't seem to apply yo what I need as A. It's for a mac (I have a PC) B. it doesn't seem to be an actual live streaming remote PC type of program, more like a monitoring program that sends you screenshots and data every few minutes, and finally.. from what I can tell their app is for ipod only, no android.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but thanks anyways
have you tried 2x client rdp/remote desktop?
EDIT:
after reading more of what you are trying to do...if you just want a media center remote, use myremote donate. it gives you keyboard and mouse control, as well as a full media center remote. works off wifi. you would need to download the server app for your puter off their website, and their client app connects to the server app to allow control of the computer. I use it all the time as a media center remote control. works awesome!
Try gPad, it's awesome. I hope that's what you're looking for. =)

Any reverse tethering/internet passthrough app for the SGS2??!

I have tried the reverse tether app on GP by jasongong and it gives me a (Kernel not supported error) on two different ROMs (spike pure ICS and resurrection remix 2). There is another reverse tethering application on the market but its paid.
I cannot possibly imagine that such a basic functionality is not available by default let alone so rare in the GP. I just need to be able to share a LAN connection through a USB cable... is there anyway or any app to do that?
when you say reverse tethering, do you mean use your pcs internet connection??
if so then sure ya just connect ya wifi to the pc, or should i say router.
There is a program you can get for the pc, called VIRTUAL ROUTER or CONNECTIFY, both of which let you turn your pc into an internet hotspot providing you have wifi, this is how i connect my 360 to get around the firewall issues for online gaming.
Hope they may help you.
I am doing this to get internet at work. Wifi is protected by a password that I cannot know. So I need to get my PC's LAN internet connection on my phone via USB. HTC has a beautiful utility for that. I don't understand why samsung doesn't have this simple functionality... :S

[Q] printing from cellphone via USB hookup to printer

Is there any way to print from a cellphone via USB hookup to printer? Don't have a wireless enabled printer or one that can be accessed through a network. Defeats the whole purpose if I have to boot up the computer just to print something. If I did that, I would just use the computer in the first place.Just would like to plug USB cable into phone and be able to print like you would using laptop or desktop by plugging in.
Any thoughts? Apps on market are geared toward wireless or network type accessing.

if you printer has an ethernet card you can use Printbot, and print through your network.
I have my non-wireless Brother printer hooked up via ethernet to my wireless router. I use the app "PrinterShare" to print from my phone wirelessly.
Sorry, I don't know how to do it via USB.
Depends on your printers capabilities.
