Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has advice on how to go about rooting a ZTE Nubia N1? I recently picked one up and while it performs pretty well, I don't think I can live without the Play Store.
I'm totally new to rooting but I have some development experience so if anyone's looking for help, resources etc. I'll do my best to provide what I can.
For reference I've already tried just installing the Play Store and services framework from APK mirror, no dice. Tried running KingRoot as well but as expected, no luck.
Any advice/direction/help is much appreciated!

Start by installing twrp recovery using fastboot method, visit 4pda site for nubia n1 you'll get the method, then flash a custom rom(download it from needrom site) setup your phone and then reboot again and flash supersu and reboot you'll be seeing supersu icon in your homescreen that's it[NOTE: every time you flash file in twrp reboot to recovery once flashing is done and perform quick not advanced wipe after rebooting to recovery, this is required only while installing custom rom not for supersu]

I am using the AT&T version of the phone in India. My phone is sim unlocked and other than it is stock. What is the easiest and simplest way for me to enable hotspot. I'll prefer not to root.
I tried searing the forums but only found Mods for rooted phones.
I used to use pdanet befire i went custom rom. You need to download the PDAnet.apk, you can find it here, http://pdanet.co/ , and install to phone. If it gives you a data limit that is not enough for you, you can buy full version of foxfi from playstore. I would check in to see if anything changed though

First off, as you can tell from my join date, I am a newbie to android devices, but I am experienced in flashing and installing ROMs for my friends. There are a few questions I want to ask and hope it will be answered.
1. I am using LENOVO A516 phone, as far as I know this phone is made in china and there is no custom rom on this forum (yet, maybe?) I even tried to search my device on the "type to find your device" box and my phone model is not listed.
2. I understand that this phone uses a MTK65xx bootloader, so if there is a rom for another phone that uses the same bootloader, will my device be flashable with the rom?
3. Is there anyway I can make my own custom rom for my phone? I'm thinking of making a custom KitKat rom for this phone as Lenovo does not provide firmware upgrades.
Thank you very much to anyone that is willing to answer these questions. I am irritated by the lack of customer support Lenovo has, hence the decision to make my custom rom.

Hello, first of all, thanks for relying, so far there is only one custom rom there and I don't understand russian. (google translate is still bad). I would like to see a kitkat udate for this phone

I'm having no problem, and I think you don't need recovery image..cause you don't even need to update your phone to kitkat.

Just search " ideafriend apk " on google or 4shared.com
The stock version of a516's ideafriend is v1.10.100 but u can download some updated version. I have a copy but i cant attach it here, sorry.

Hi. I factory reset my a516 because i want to recover some system app i uninstall which is the contact manager （ideafriend apk）. But it didnt came back, so i cant recieve/send, dial and see my contacts and messages but i manage to get some copy of the apk in the web and install it.
My phone book and messaging able to use like normal, but when i try to use dialer or call logs, it will closed immediately. Everytime I restart it will prompt ContactManager has stopped.
Pls help me

Just install the apps in the playstore CDTOSD with a logo of a nintendo controller if your phone is rooted then it has no problem sa transfer your files to sd

Hi . I have a huge prob...My phone is not working.
I just wanted to change my launcher from kit lat launcher (from google play) to othe original lenovo launcher installed in the phone...
Then a dialog box appeared: "lenovo.ideapad is not responding"
I hit ok but the still got the same error .
I turned it off. When it powers on, it is just stuck with the boot logo.. I can only see the animation logo of lenovo...
All I can access is meta mode which is all in "Chinese" so I can't understand a thing.
I have no idea how this happened all of a sudden.
Can I still restore it?
Please help.

dude. U can use google chrome to translate the website to English no need to use google translate. or better search for this video on utube.

Sir?!.. Allegro ROM is pretty much good. This custom ROM includes:
Firmware + TWRP, SP Flash Tool v3.1316.0.150, apdb + modemdb Languages: en , RU , BN, CS, de, EL, es, FA, FR, Hi, HU, in, it, IW, ko etc.
So, if there's any here who have problem about the RAM usage and APP Storge this custom ROM is worth FLASHING hehe lol. . .
U will also notice ur phone is running much smoother than before.

Try flash ALLEGRO ROM, then install camera 360 ultimate app. But i think it doesn't really do auto focus haha lol. (i already tried it, it looks normal for me.)

I think its not possible to transfer app to sd with this kind of ROM ("app2sd not supported" this notification will pop up if u try to transfer app+data to sd card. I experienced this many times when i try installing app2sd etc.. i do experiment with a lot of app in appstore but nothing works)
BUT then after i flash my phone to a custom ROM (allegro ROM) my problem solved even the app storage thing?the primary storage before is phone. NOW it will become ur SD card is primary storage. i hope i can help u as much as possible. the reason im doing this comment is because at first im so regretful buying this phone. it has too many problems haha (in my opinion) anyway .. just pm me or reply on this comment i'll try my best to help u too. p.s RAM problem also solved.

HI All,
The thing is I lost my phone whilst working in China and so bought myself an Alpha_SM-G8508S .
I´ve rooted it and installed a few apks needed for work however googleapps is near impossible to get working and my bank app behaves the same, just shuts down when trying to launch it !
Followed all posts on xda to the letter but no joy.
Please anyone with an Alpha-SM-G8508S who has successfully installed gapps instruct me on how it´s done successfully.

Simple with ODIN, just google it.
But there is no benefit of rooting, i guess there are no custom ROM's for this vesion of Alpha

It's a phone for poor schmucks like me, so no one care much

Im sad this phone is nice and all but.. A custom rom would speed it up so much kinda need root access to begin. I can port a rom myself but the actual process of a root i know and love has failed me. Would love an outside opinion... Maybe someone will respond?

Odin may be a possibility. this phone has a download mode but I have no idea how to make or send a package using it..... can another member pleeeeeaaasssssee look upon this thread? we need help....

Damn, they are quite sensitive. At least they now know it exists. It seems we will have to wait for a month or two before it is ready.

I'm going to make one when someone ports TWRP to it TWRP not cwm because I don't have loads of time I am still 12 years old

I found what appears to be a stock rom, but as a new member I can't link it.
It shows up as the first google result when I search "lg firmware list m151", hopefully that's enough for you to find it?

i can't get fastboot to detect it for some reason, but "adb reboot recovery" gets it to the bootloader

Hi, I've done numerous Google searches to see if I could find a root for this phone, but no luck. Its an Alcatel Lume, model A466T, baseband 6580, build 3DHL-UDL1, running on android 6.0. I was wondering if there is, if someone could point me in the direction of the forum, or website. Thanks.
You can use kingroot and then use the kingroot to supersu zip in the terminal emulator app

I would say do not root your phone as it may harm your device. Your device can be hacked and you will face privacy issues. I strongly recommend you to Do Not Root your Phone
