hi, i have a problem with my asus zenfone 5 (root), I think it's in hard brick, I explain better, yesterday I did a restore to "clean" the system, while restoring freezes, then I try to boot into recovery mode, I long ago I installed a custom recovery, the fact is that by inserting the recovery.img and trying to start it from the custom recovery I get errors and does not install, so start in droidboot mode to adjust all manulamente by pc (GNU / linux), with fastboot flash the recovery.img, but when I have to do the last step described by driving mistake, now I do not have a chance to get more in recovery mode, in fact, when I press power + vol + appears the Android logo with red exclamation point, if I try to start it normally there is a loading of the asus logo with the infinite wheel, but when there is asus adb logo detects it, it just says chen is not "authorized", the phone has to be thrown away? There are hardware / software solutions?
thank you so much
ps: sorry for the grammar are not English

Dear community,
I tried to boot into CWM (installed via Rom Manager) but nothing happend after the reboot-to-recovery, invoked via Rom Manager. The tablet was stuck at boot, displaying the Asus logo. No animations and no error messages were displayed. I needed to press and hold power to reset my prime so it would boot my rom again. I was still able to load fastboot (power + volume down)
Next I tried to reboot-to-recovery using Goo Manager. The same issue occurred, stuck at startup, displaying the Asus logo, but now I am unable to recover from that state to load the rom!. When resetting my prime it is still stuck at displaying the Asus logo. No animations and no error message displayed. I can also no longer enter the menu using power+volume down...
I am afraid I perma-bricked my Prime but ofcourse hope it is not the case. Can anybody help me confirming my fear?
Thank you for helping me out!

That is bricked unfortunately.
CWM only ever worked on the ICS bootloader and there are warning everywhere on here never to use it.
You needed the correct version of TWRP for what bootloader you was on.
If you cannot get into the rom, the bootloader menu or you have nvflash backups that you created before then you are out of luck.
Hi flumpster, Thanks for clearing this up :good:
I think I have the similar problem. I have TF201 Android 4.1.2 installed and a PC Ubuntu 13.04 installed.
-First of all, I used unlocker releases by Asus. Then I loaded CWM by fastboot, but it didn't launch, I loaded CWM Touch, but it didn't launch, I loaded TWRP and again it didn't launch. When I tried to launch recovery rom every time it stuck at splashscreen.(It says booting recovery rom or smth like that)
-Then I tried to start unlocker again, it gave network error.(If you shut down the wifi it asks for internet, I think Asus collecting some information about prime.)
-Then I rooted my device. Again it stuck at splashscreen while trying to launch recovery rom. I reloaded recovery roms again it didn't work. I choose restart to recovery from the ROM MANAGER, it stuck again but nothing about "booting recovery rom" just "device is unlocked" writen. Then finally I installed CWM from ROM Manager again and I choose restart to recovery from GOO Manager. Boom! I think it tries to boot recovery rom in everytime. I can't boot android, I can't boot fastboot, power+volume down didn't work. Even I can't close it, it always restarts and I had to wait until the battery last.
So is there anything to do?
So I flashed a new ROM by the Spanish guys at Team Force (great looking ROM), via CWM, and so naturally I got the boot loop problem.
Normally solvable by turning off the phone, booting into recovery and then performing a factory reset, right?
Here's the problem - this appears to be one of the only android cellphones in existence where you CAN'T boot into recovery using the normal power + volume key combinations.
Essentially, I've bricked the phone without actually REALLY bricking it.
Did I miss anything, or does it sound like a quick end of line for this phone?
Edit: Well, if I connect my phone via USB and have ADB running in the background, holding the volume up key during the boot loop does bring up recovery mode.
It seems to me that the installation of said ROM simply doesn't fully complete before it tries to reboot itself, which could be why this is happening.
Hi all,
I own the Acer A3-B20 and had it rooted some time ago with Kingroot. Installed a system update by Acer a few days ago and since then the tablet only boots in Recovery Mode. Resetting to factory defaults does not help, the filesystem integrity checker shows a few modified files.
Only viable option in recovery mode seems flashing a new firmware and I tried to do so with the currently available offical ROM from Acer: "AV0L0.B3-A20.RV03RC06.WW.GEN1". Flashing starts successfully but ends in the android screen of death (lying robot with red triangle).
Does anybody have a better idea on what to try? I haven't been able to find another firmware to try except the aforementioned.
Cheers,
Jarek

Try Wiping your System partition then doing a Clean Install of the ROM using Fastboot.
Hopefully there will be a option in your Recovery to restart the device in boot loader mode(that's fastboot).
Hi,
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I'm not able to enter bootloader mode. Recovery mode has an option "Reboot to bootloader" which causes the tablet to power down, nothing else happens.
Also, booting up with Power+Volume Down/Up (tried both) only boots to the same recovery mode.

To access the recovery menu on my B3-A20, I use the Volume-Down by itself; The Power+Volume-up combination starts a Chinese factory test/debug menu.
Edit: I managed. Thanks anyway!
I done goof'd when trying to flash custom recovery, now phone gives "secure booting error! Cause: boot certification verify" when trying to boot.
I'm unable Fastboot - all the tutorials I found give me wrong instructions (*more details at the end).
So I'm trying to flash stock rom, but every flashing software I tried either had a broken download link (LG's official site is hot garbage), Needs a password (seriously, why), or doesn't run on my perfectly fine, modern enough PC (Ryzen gen 2).
Any help? With either a normal Flashtool (please link), or a way to enter Fastboot?
*Volume+ power, release when logo appears, then holding down volume+power again brings me to factory rest. Not even recovery. Choosing "Yes" on factory reset does nothing.
*Powering off, then holding volume up while plugging in the USB brings me to download mode. Keeping the same butting still held does nothing.
*Powering off, then holding volume down while plugging in the USB does nothing (boots normally, then displays the booting error I mentioned earlier).
I have similar problem with LG G2 mini: Secure booting error: Boot certification verify. I tried turn on download mode but I can not turn on download mode. I tried t flash smartphone by flashing software LG flash tools but this program hangs. Exception code: c0000005. Can you help me?
Hi Community,
I read some posts how to fix my Problem, but i cant go to a service Point.
So I was using the Evolution X for a long Time (Installed with TWRP 3.1.0).
And now i wanted to change to the Nusantara Project (Vanilla), I did a clean Flash, everything worked i could access the System.
Than i had problems installing Play Store, so i rebooted into Recovery via the System. But now im Stuck in the Loop.
Can i Somehow connect my Phone to the PC and Reset?
Can someone tell me if i Hard/soft bricked my phone ?
Just a little advice, would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot
Go to TWRP, wipe system, cache, data and dalvik. Now flash nusantra and whichever GApps are recommended for it (if there are no recommendations then use OpenGApps, make sure the architecture is correct). Now wipe dalvik and restart. Sometimes, certain roms begin to bootloop if you boot into the rom first, then try to install gapps later.
If you still have issues, just reflash the stock rom.
I cant access the TWRP anymore, im just stuck on the Bootloader, no matter how i turn on The Phone (Volume Up + Power ON ), (Volume Down + Power), (All 3 Buttons)
Nothing works anymore i dont understand ....
Im searching the net but i cant go to fastboot or something else, its just keeps on rebooting ...
So it's bootlooping, but you cant access recovery?
When the screen turns off, press the key combo and it should go to recovery.
Your best bet is to take it to a service centre, but if that really isn't possible for you, then wait for its battery to drain completely, then when you plug in the charger, instead of turning the phone on, press the key combo to enter the recovery. From there, wipe and flash some other OS.
I've also heard that certain versions of TWRP don't support some roms, leading to a bootloop. In that case, you'll have to use orangefox recovery to flash the rom (orangefox is flashable via twrp)
Yes its Bootlooping.
When i turn it on, on the Left Corner "Recovery Mode" blinks for one second. Than the usual Text appears:
"Orange State
Your Device has been unlocked and cant be trusted
Your Device will boot in 5 Seconds".
So after a couple of seconds (around 10-20 sec)
It turns off and immediately on again. I Just can turn it OFF when i hold all 3 Buttons.
Than i try starting it with Volume up + Power / Volume down + Power, But i cant access Recovery or TWRP.
So i should wait til the battery gets low and try it again ?
Like i said, my custom Rom (Evolutionx) and TWRP just worked fine. I dont know man ...
Well since your bootloader is unlocked, try flashing the stock rom again. Look for a tutorial and follow it.
Hi I managed to unbrick my device with this guide, and im back on a stock rom
Unbrick
i ran following commands to get to my custom rom:
I run adb reboot bootloader,
add executed following commands.
(Pitch Black recovery 3.1)
- adb reboot bootloader
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
-fasboot reboot recovery
It just hang up and booted after a while into the normal system.
But im not able to get to the recovery menu ?
When I restart and hold Volume up + Power, i go in a loop and the phone keeps restarting over and over again.
what have i Fu**ed up ?
Do i need another recovery tool ?
sorry guys, i appreciate your help a lot tho !
EDIT: Is my bootloader unlocked ?
I can access via "adb reboot bootloader" the phone
and on the blackscreen on the phone it is written:
oppo verfiy pass
fastboot_unlock_verify ok
Update:
So i tried some Stuff and i got Red State. No Problem i Unbricked it once again and now im on Stock Android 10.
Now im Trying to enable the bootloader again.
I downloaded the In Depth Test_Realme_6.apk but i keep getting the Error that i should update the system.
So should i update the system ?
I cant find a CURRENT Tutorial to make this work, please help...
If you cant find a tutorial for your version, why not downgrade back to a previous one if possible.
