I got approval from xiaomi to unlock Bootloader. When try to unlock it stuck at 50%. Then i heard, I've to flash developer rom before unlock. So i tried to flash developer rom via update but it shows cant verify package....
Is there any way to unlock Bootloader
What error do you get when the unlocking procedure hangs at 50%?

If you are on Global Stable ROM then you can't flash developer ROM via the updater app as it would throw up the error "can't verify package". If you were upgrading for example from an old version of Global Stable ROM to the newer then then update app would work.
To flash the developer ROM you have to flash it via fastboot. Download the fastboot version of the developer ROM and flash it via MI flash tool.

I have seen this error myself in the past, and I can tell you it's not the rom that causes this. Are you sure you are signed in with the same Mi account on both the device and the computer?
Yes I am. I have the mtk note 3 version have had unlock permission for three weeks tried it all no go for me wish I could. Lol

Hello Everyone,
I am posting this after a frustrating few days trying to figure out how to unlock my newly bought Redmi 3.
I have applied for the unlock, which i received about 11 days later.
Now i have been doing the following things to try and unlock my bootloader.
Currently running MIUI Global 7.1.1.0.0 STABLE (LHPCNCK)
First i tried to unlock it normally through the unlock application.
I got stuck everytime on 50% on verifying the phone,
Never got it working.
I then understood i need to install the dev rom for the unlock.
So i tried that through the download section on miui and tried to use the updater app to install it.
i got stuck at a point were it told me that the verifying of the package failed and it will not install.
Tried doing a fastboot installation but it came to a message saying that my bootloader is locked therefore i won't be able to flash via fastboot.
Please help me unlocking this.
I hate the MIUI rom it suck.
Let me know if you need any further details
Updater app can install dev rom zip. Download again, previous might be corrupted.
Here is what's wrong: Updater app only works in official ROM, and your current ROM (7.1.1.0.0) isn't one, it is a modified ROM.
So to sum it up, you need to follow these steps:
1. Flash the official stable ROM. fastboot version, using MiFlash, http://en.miui.com/thread-228048-1-1.html, (notice even if you are flashing fastboot ROM, don't go to fastboot mode, instead, to download mode) then
2. Flash the developer ROM, recovery version, using Updater, http://en.miui.com/thread-228054-1-1.html
note that developer ROM also available in fastboot version, but I don't recommend it since some had tried and resulted with bricked phone.

I'm not OP, but I have the same problem as him.
I followed your steps and am stuck at step 2: can't verify update
I am on 7.2.7.0 stable.
Edit: turns out I had to download Dev version 6.4.21 and not the 6.3.17 that was in your link. Works now, thanks!

Yes, yes. It's not me who made that tutorial, probably he forgot to update it to newest version, one of the first thing to do when troubleshooting is that make sure you run the latest version, I think 7.2.7.0 to 6.3.17 failed because it's a downgrade, and downgrade can only be done using miflash or custom recovery. Anyway, glad it worked for you too
Hi guys,
Just recently purchased redmi note 3 pro 32gb from gearbest.
Phone should be international version with 7.2.13.00(LHOCNCL) preinstalled.
I found that I cannot flash any standard / developer ROM when official website by using built-in flash tool.
Any way to go from here? to at least receive OTA updates and in future I will like to try out Ressurection rom.
thanks.
Your ROM is unexsisting one, cooked by the seller.
You must flash a new one clean via EDL mode and MiFlash
This CN in the name means Chinese, and the numbers says that the rom is only modified to support more languages.

Does this mean i need to wait for unlock bootloader first?
my MI account has previous device linked which I just removed now and set to my new phone.
might take weeks to get approval?
or is there a guy to by pass the locked bootloader?
thanks.

No you wont loose your IMEI. Basically you are just flashing official MIUI Rom, your IMEI details are stored in another partition (non volatile) and FlashAll will not touch them.
You are safe to follow this guide, and by the way you would not be able to unlock the bootloader (the official way) from this vendor Rom. So if you plan to do so later, here you go with this first step.

unlocked fine with Dev ROM!
sweet
now time to find out how to flash TWRP!
Put the recovery image file in the folder from Unlocker.
Press Shift and Right click with the mouse on the empty space in the folder.
In the context menu choose Open Command Window Here
Put the phone in fastboot mode
Write in the terminal
fastboot flash recovery and write down the name of the image. For example:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
or
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Success.

Hi my friends.
this is my story :
my phone is Redmi note 3 pro (qualqomm)
I got permissions for unlocking a week ago.
then i tried xiaomi website unlock method but it stopped at 50% and gave me couldn't verify device (different account) error.
my rom is global (MIUI 8) . then i tried to flash dev rom with updater app but it gave me couldn't verify update package error. i cleared updater data and tried again but same error.
in next step i tried mi pc suite to flash but no success.
then i used fastboot mode and mi flash and i got locked bootloader error.
then i used EDL mode to flash but in mi flash i got hello package error. (object reference not set to an instance of an object)
i completely confused . i tried all methods and read many fix like login in i.mi.com and other method that people fixed their problem but all of them not fix mine.
i read some threads about flashing twrp and root without unlocking bootloader but all of them need flashing dev rom and i can't flash.
can anyone help me?

I just recently went through most of what you have gone through... Be patient though... It seems that the unlocking of bootloader even after you getting permission, takes atleast 2-3 weeks more.
- You can flash the miui global dev rom, you may download it from the miui forums... Here is the link for the fastboot rom http://en.miui.com/a-234.html.
- To flash the dev rom, you need to ensure you put your phone into fastboot, ensure all the fastboot drivers are installed on your computer
- Also, you need to ensure that you download the GLOBAL/DEV FASTBOOT ROM(this is different than the regular zip package) that you download.
- Then you can follow the instructions to install the ROM using miflash tool
- If the ROM installation is a success, then you just need to wait patiently atleast for 15-20 days from the time you got unlock permission sms from MI
- Then try running the flash unlock tool, it should get unlocked.
- Now flashing TWRP might be tricky, I was able to flash the official TWRP, but had issues where the internal memory wasn't getting mounted, because you keep getting asked for decryption password in TWRP to mount the data, no matter what you enter, it might not work
- After trying many TWRP types, the one that worked was "zcx twrp"
- Once you flash that, you should be able to flash any custom or miui roms you need :good:

Skip the EDL thing and go directly to the part where they explain how to use the miflash tool to flash a fastboot ROM
I should have asked this first... what's the state of your phone right now? Does it boot, stuck on boot loop, or are you able to boot into some ROM.
maybe u have a vendors rom, flash the fastboot rom using edl
finally a downloaded adb 1.4.3 and installed it and i flashed dev rom in EDL mode.
but now i have some questions:
can i change kernel with locked bootloader?
if i change kernel does fingerprint work?
You just dont have proper drivers installed im 100% sure, else it would go via edl
Hehe was right
And why dont you ask for official unlock approval? Its approved in less than a day, anyone saying otherwise have old news
Or you can always use a method in this forum...

if you can't update via settings
reset device and try again if fail
then bootloader should be unlocked to try the 2nd official way
unlock bootloader with "mi unlock" on any pc or laptop
then download your desired ROM and flash it with "mi flash"
you can also relock bootloader again while flashing with mi flash

If I want to relock bootloader do I need my specific device's MIUI ROM? I'm trying to download it via the Settings but I think it's a "carrier" based MIUI rom and it's really limiting.
Only reason that I would want this is for resell value. Easier to sell a stock device than an open bootloader one.
Thanks btw for answering.

you can only flash with pc or laptop following way
requirements
1.pc/laptop with adb drivers
2.unlocked bootloader device
yes you need fastboot rom flashing with "mi flash" to relock the bootloader
Official Roms for Mi10 (UMI) you can download from here and select fastboot while downloading not recovery rom
extract downloaded rom in c drive
download latest mi flash and extract this in c drive also
run mi flash select rom, attach your device in fastboot mode by pressing vol down + power down
and hit flash button, attaching screen shot also
hope this will help
i have same device, and this mi flash version worked good for me (MiFlash 2021.2.26.0)
