Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.

that means you havent enabled debuging mode yet. that or you did and you just need to unplug and plug phone back in to get the dialog box to pop up

There are call recording apps on playstore. Along with the rooting is so simple I did it the same day I got my v10 T-Mobile variant

First things first, you don't need root to record your phone calls. Like Wadamean said, there are call recording apps in the play store. I personally use "Call Recorder ACR", but you can use whatever you prefer. Most call recorders won't require root access.
As for rooting, if you type the adb command and it says that it's waiting for your device, the most likely cause is that you do not have the proper drivers installed on your computer. An easy way to check this would be to type the command "adb devices" and make sure that your V10 appears under "List of devices attached". If you don't see your h901 device listed, your computer doesn't know that the V10 is connected, and it'll be difficult for your computer to issue commands to a device it can't see
Follow each step in this guide. That doesn't mean click this link, skip to the downloads, and then proceed to root like you've always done. It means click this link, READ THE POST, then once you have finished reading it, read it again to make sure you didn't miss anything. It will guide you through setting up adb with a universal driver. It will also guide you through doing things like enabling USB Debugging, which is required for issuing adb commands.

If you are still having issues after reading this guide and FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS, post there to let them know where you're getting stuck at and someone will help you out.
Appreciate the advice i thought call recording was a root only feature so i do apologize for that inconvience guys
As far as rooting my computer does reconize the device ive ran the adb command to check and it did list it and i still got stuck. Ive installed the universal drivers so that may be where i messed up. Thank you for the link im going to try again tonight bc i want root

No worries, that's why we're here :good:
If you can see your V10 listed on the ADB devices list, then something else is up. Make sure that USB Debugging and OEM Unlock are checked in Developer Options... What command are you getting stuck at?
Both options are checked in developers options. Ill type the oem unlock command and it reads waiting on device

Ahh, sounds like you aren't in fastboot mode. Make sure that your USB connection type is set to PTP rather than MTP or charge only. Before you issue ANY other adb commands, run "adb devices" and make sure that you see your v10. It should read something like this:
List of devices attached
LGH901blahblah device

See it on the list? Good. You should be able to run "adb reboot bootloader". At this stage, your phone should reboot to a mostly dark screen. Once in the bootloader, you should be able to run "fastboot oem unlock". Be forewarned that it can take a few minutes. If you see "waiting on device," you're either not in the right mode (your phone won't acknowledge fastboot commands if it's not in Bootloader mode) or the drivers on your computer are screwy and need to be reinstalled. If you can issue adb commands but not fastboot ones, you probably need additional drivers - more info here: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/46142/fastboot-doesnt-see-device
This should get you started in the right direction, feel free to PM or post in the guide if you're still having trouble. :good:
ok so i followed the guide, reinstalled the LG drivers. and re setup the ADB system wide. I put my phone in usb ptp and ran command ADB devices. It listed my device, so i ran the ADB reboot bootloader and it rebooted. the screen i get is the LG boot screen but in the top left corner it shows fastboot mode and list the commands to unlock the bootloader. I run command fastboot oem unlock and I get the same waiting on device and waited an hour and got nothing. I even tried unplugging it restarting command prompt held the vol down button when i plugged my device back in to make it boot into FASTBOOT mode. i run the command fastboot oem unlock and still get nothing.
What am I doing wrong? I follow the guide to the very T and still get nothing. Could I possibly get someone to make a file with everything done and flash it using Odin? Im not new to this and dont understand why this V10 H901 is giving me so much trouble. Ive rooted a Motorola OG droid, Droid 2, Bionic, Samsung Note 2, 3 and Grand Prime and never had this much trouble. I really enjoy having root privileges but this is getting ridiculous but I also refuse to give up. If anyone can help me I would much appreciate it. Also Thanks to the ones who have tried helping me so far, this is why I enjoy XDA so much
ok i believe my device isnt being reconized while in fastboot mode. I tried going into fastboot mode by plugging my device in a PC while it was off and holding the Vol Down button and when I go into command prompt and run command fastboot devices nothing shows up. I really need to root this device so any help is appreciated
ok confirmed at 0130 hrs I am loosing connection in fastboot mode... What is the issue?

Can't unlock bootloader (iOcean X8 Mini)

Hello,
A friend of my asked me to install a new version on his iOcean X8 Mini.
After a few minutes into the process, I discovered that I couldn't modify anything at all.
Problems start occuring when I enter Fastboot via ADB (I power up the phone, connect it to PC, give it permission to use Android USB Debugging, then via 'adb rebeoot fastboot' I enter the Fastboot menu). Every command I enter here returns 3 dots just doing nothing. My command prompt is unusable after entering a command (for example 'fastboot oem unlock').
I've tried to push a ROM via ADB but this isn't working as well since it returns something like 'no permission' when trying to install, but I figured this was due to the locked bootloader.
Searched all over the internet for solutions, but so far nothing has really worked. What I somehow did mange to do is root the device (don't know if it was by default, I assume not), via RootGenius.
Anybody got any experience with this, and perhaps know some steps I can undertake to indeed unlock the bootloader of this phone?
Thanks in advance!

Lg l9 need help

Hey guys, I just got LG l9 from my friend but it is (I am afraid, not knowing much about mobiles) bricked.
When I turn it on it says:
-------------------------------------
Secure booting unsuccessful!
Cause:
-------------------------------------
and after that it turns off. If I charge it it turns on and shows battery charging. At combination of Volume+, power button it goes in Recovery mode.
It shows "This mode is for data backup service center. After removing and reattaching battery, press power key to reboot and keep using phone" and from there I can't do anything, just able to take out battery.
If I try combination of Volume-, power button it shows little android and loading bar, after few sec it restarts and shows booting unsuccessful.
I am not sure what he did with it, but pretty sure he rooted it. Is it possible to fix it, hope someone will provide me some help
Thanks !
It is possible to fix, you need to unbrick it. Find the stock rom for your device and find a good tutorial on how to flash em. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply ! I found everything I need, but I got problem - cant enter download mode. On combination of Volume+ and plugging cable I get S/W Upgrade, and on combination Volume+&- and plugging cable I get nothing. Any ideas how to get in that download mode? Thanks!

Try that, then in adb, type adb devices and see if your pops up, if not, try fastboot devices. If it popped up in adb, you can sideload the zip file, if on fastboot, you can flash it.

Thanks for your patience and answers! Problem is I cant reach emergency-mode. I always get S/W Update. Under adb devices I can see my phone in recovery mode (was thinking maybe emergency=recovery mode). I tried sideload, it starts loading but after some time I get error:closed. I tried doing adb usb before as well but gave no results.: . Any other ideas? Is there any way to "make" phone run ROM from SD card (in recovery mode can't navigate anywhere like I can on my other phone).
Again thanks for your help and time!

If it sees your phone as recovery, you can be rescued! Run adb shell and once the shell has popped up, type ls and if you see the phone structure of directories, you can exit the shell and push the file from your pc to your phone. But before you push, I want you to try to run adb reboot-bootloader and see if fastboot recognises it.

I think I am making some progress. First on adb reboot-bootloader my phone reboots into secure booting unsuccessful, same as before. On the adb shell/ls I get to see cache, charger, data, default.prop, dev, etc, system, temp and lots of other things. I guess that are directories we are looking for. But when I go adb push filename.zip /data/media I get failed to copy filename.zip: Permission denied. Guess nothing can work at first, sorry

This gets complicated, I found xloader and uboot, but problem occurs when I try to install fastboot drivers, says third party doesn't contain digital signature information?? I think I was close with shell from adb, just how to get privilege to push files? Tried so many methods.. Thanks again on help.

Problems while removing screen lock using ADB on QTAB v7

I want to unlock my cousin's tab who recently passed away and no one knows the passcode so after some googling i found that you can do it via ADB.
The device successfully connects with my pc but when I execute "adb devices" it shows;
.......................... unauthorized
and running adb shell shows;
This adbd's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set; try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
With the device locked Im unable to authorize my computer so I decided to search something for that too and found this article where it tells u to pull keys from another device and push it into your locked one while in recovery mode and this is where Im stuck. Whenever Im in recovery mode, adb devices shows nothing so if someone of you could help me would be awesome.

Need some help with an RK3168 tablet, bootloader and write permissions

Hello!
I cant get further on with an my tablet an RK3168 device. All the specs are in this topic, because i was looking for a rom:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...ssible-clean-4-2-2-or-a-customcwm-rom/#p60994
But i ran into things what i can not really understand or place, and i also already tried a lot already..Maybe its the soc itself, hope someone can help me a little bit.
I wane install a rom, so i first made an backup with RK1.2tools and this backup is ready in flashtools1.37 from finless. It finds rk loader and its ready to flash..
But here i get stucked, adb works, minimal adb &fastboot , google usb driver, with usb debugging on..Adb works, but for example fastboot reboot-bootloader..Only switches off the device, it doesn't boot up in any mode...Tried button combinations but only recovery can show up.So no commands work for fastboot plus starting fastboot with keys, looks impossible. Also in recovery there is no fastboot. In adb i can see all the commands, but everything what starts with fastboot, will give me only an waiting for device output..Also adb shell gives me root, rooted with kingroot..But same thing, goes off and no fastboot..And yes adb has permissions from kingroot.
Because adb works, i can not believe that fastboot would not work, i think myself its the tablet who first has to boot into it before a driver will work. But fastboot oem unlock or fastboot flashing unlock bootloader all are not working. But why it even doesn't start in any fastboot from command pff i cant understand that..
On the internet i see that even fastboot has an screen..Could it be locked or so?
Only weird thing besides that is this! If i put it off, plug in usb cable and charger!!Press vol up or power, battery shows up loading..And i see rockusb device in device manager win7.I can install adb or fastboot on top off rockusb device. But adb shows no server running. And adb devices gives this: 1234567890ABCDEF Device....Thinks its no fastboot but very weird. It only works this way when charger is inserted and battery is loading..
Besides that, rooting was also a pain ...Tried rk188 solution for rk3168, but double zero after 3 times booting..Looks rooted, but Su is not there and cant get installed. It always ends like that, with or without kingroot. And other ways the same, with emulator pushing su and removing kingroot..Doesn't allow Su to be installed properly.
Nothing looks logical for me at the moment. No fastboot, but seems flash ready in RK1.37 tools. Is there a way around fastboot to find out first if my loader is unlocked.
I don't wane brick it with an locked loader, so how to get further on from here or are these soc different from others?
Thanks for any help!:good:
