Good day,
Are there any plans to add a version of Remix OS running the "Android TV" interface?
I think this would be great for users who would like to use Remix OS in the living room.

Kind regards,

@reniers It's a good idea to have a TV UI, but how do you imagine it?
Bigger text and icons? (these can be changed within settings app and build.prop file; dpi)
Or something more?

@Vioner I was thinking of using the Android TV interface. Same as the Google Nexus Player or Nvidia Shield.

Hey Guys,
I am busy working on this.
so far I have the LeanBackLauncher working but never get any recommendations.
there is a working version using android X86 here
http://geektillithertz.com/wordpress/index.php/2016/06/20/android-tv-x86-build-2/
it has some basic functionality like LeanBackLauncher and Settings.
I want to create a port using remix OS because they have the latest code. for instance my HDMI audio doesnt work on Android X86 Project but does on Remix OS.
I am currently busy trying to port some other features like android remote. then I am going to debloat Remix OS. I will upload the Image once I have done some more work.
anyone intersted in making Remix OS into a Android TV I have a Guide Here

I will be Posting new stuff as I go

Hi all,
I need a new laptop so i am thinking about a new Windows 8.1 touchscreen hybrid (undock from the keyboard). Though curious if anyone has installed Android x86 on this as well and if so how good is the touch component and latency for gaming etc?
I kinda want a new tablet and a new laptop. Though hoping i can do both Android and Windows with one device and have a good experience on both.
Additionally I see Jar of Beans (Android x86 with root) has been discontinued anyone got a link to a good x86 android project with root and play store?
Would love your input.
Thanks.
bumpity bump!
I have found a few android x86 images that work with the hp stream but isn't as stable. The image that I'm providing is that the touch and wifi works but not the orentation rotation. I'm wanting to put remix os on this thing since jide finally made it open source

Don't like windows 8 on this since I got it as a gift.
Hey keep us informed. I got a Stream 7 and would love to put Android or Linux on it.
We all knew that Google just announced it's Chrome-Android OSs merge at their I/O conference. This was their last chance to save their desktop OS. My dad is buying a chromebook today
But here is the deal to save Remix OS!
First their Android system that will get integrated in the OS is not open source, at least for now, so you can't get it on Neverware Cloudready Chromium OS on your PC. You can't use it on the PC you already have, you need to buy a chromebook. Remix OS is just like Windows and works on most PCs and laptops and this is A BIG BONUS!
First Remix OS has to fix its compatibilities with Android apps to get at least 80% of google plays apps and games especially the main stream ones working seamlessly.
It also needs to support mouse wheel and touch gestures via mouse. Multiuser is a MUST for a desktop OS.
Also there should be a time just working to get Closed source drivers like GPU, sound, wifi, touch screens, mice working either by reverse engineering them or contacting the companies to supply them with working drivers.
Last thing! , we need desktops and laptops that come preinstalled with Remix OS as their main (but not only) OS other than the Remix Ultratablet and Remix mini.
People of Jide, you have a good chance don't lose it
The key here is unofficial Android TV. There are a lot of Android TV boxes that don't have official Android TV on them. They can't play Netflix in 4K or other premium services. I'm asking about the unofficial NOT the official. Most of the time when i ask this question people give me answers comparing Android OS with ATV official. That is not what i'm asking because most boxes are not official ATV.
What i understand is that ATV official use a more limited Play Store than Android OS. So DOES the UNOFFICIAL ATV use a limited Play Store? I've been stuck trying to decide whether to get a Yundoo Y8, H96 Pro both of which run unofficial Android TV, from what i understand and Android OS boxes such as Minix U9.
I like the flexibility of Android OS but i like the hardware on Yundoo and H96.
I'm not particularly interested in gaming but it would be nice to have for guests who visit. I am interested in 4K movies. So my use would likely be or TV / Android computer than gaming. Thus i would prefer having more Play Store support which i understand ATV is more limited. I'm not sure about unofficial ATV, though.
Thanks!
