Keyboard synchronization - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I used to be a Galaxy Note 5 user, and Samsung gives the ability to sync the keyboard dictionary.
I'm missing this feature as it keeps all my custom words, entered phone numbers and emails available on all Samsung devices.
The LG keyboard is just awesome and I like it, and don't like to use third party keyboards, and I want to keep all my keyboard data available even if I flash my phone.
Perhaps that there is some files to retrieve from some directory?
Thank you.

Google keyboard will solve all your problems

Make sure Google Keyboard Sync on. To find this option go to Settings >> Language & Input >> Google Keyboard >> Accounts and Privacy.
Then hopefully the LG Keyboard will use the personal dictionary. ** not tested it **

So, we can't run from the third party keyboards ... I'll return back to Swiftkey so

[Q] Can't set default navigation app

Whenever I tap on a location (e.g., address in contacts) AT&T navigation takes over. I don't even get a choice to select a default. I disabled AT&T navigation, but this didn't help - selecting the address doesn't do anything anymore. This is all on a HTC One with stock rom.
Next I rooted the device and flashed the latest CleanROM 4.0 from 7/31. This rom doesn't have the AT&T navigator. Unfortunately, it still behaves the same (selecting an address in contacts doesn't do anything). On all of my previous Android phones I was able to select Google Maps as default. This doesn't seem to be possible with the HTC One (at least with the roms I have tried). I also tried using a default app manager without any success.
Any suggestion on how to enable google maps as default navigation up is appreciated.
Open Google Maps, select the arrow icon at the top and start typing a contact name in the destination box. It's a round about way of accomplishing the same thing you seem to be after. There's no way to set Maps as the default any longer.
Thanks jdk2. It's not a perfect but reasonable workaround.
I am wondering about your statement that there is no way to set the default anymore, though. After all, AT&T Navigator is used as default if you don't disable it. If AT&T can bind their stuff, it should be technically possible to bind other apps to it.
Come to think of it, this might be an issue just with contacts. Any other app that deals with addresses allows me to pick Google Maps.

Keyboard Network Access? Privacy Concern?

Can someone who's done keyboard development based on the AOSP keyboard please tell me if keystrokes are sent to Google to assist with word prediction, etc? If not, why else does the Google keyboard need full network access? I know there's a local Android dictionary that works even when a device is offline but there seems to be enhanced typing functionality when a device is online (at least using the closed-source Google keyboard).
If keystrokes are being sent to Google, isn't that perhaps a privacy concern? Presumably even your passwords to non-Google accounts could be sent to, and stored by, Google and associated with your device/account/email/etc. I know there have been reports of keyboards sending every keystroke to mysterious servers in China. Is Google doing the same thing with AOSP or the Google keyboard?
Interesting, I'm also curious about this issue, it would be nice if one of the devs replied. For what bizarre reason should a keyboard application have network access? Currently I'm using CM 13, whose stock keyboard is the open source AOSP keyboard. Among its permissions, there are: "download files without notification" and "view network connections". Does anybody know if it sends keystrokes "anywhere" outside the phone? If it did, it would be a massive security problem, think about passwords for example. Plus, is there any difference between the "AOSP keyboard" and the "Google keyboard", especially regarding this issue?

Truesmart+ App List

lets start a thread detailing apps that work and do not work for the truesmart+. For example, one user noted on Google+ that the Nike+ app does not work, while Runtastic supposedly does. I am asking other truesmart+ users contribute to this list. If you can, please specify the apk file when necessary.
Thanks. I think such a list would be convenient for other TS+ users.
HERE Maps are working fine.
These work for me, downloaded/updated straight from the Play Store:
> Google+
> Hangouts
> Facebook
> Facebook Messenger
> WhatsApp
> GMail
> Nova Launcher
> Nova Launcher Prime
> Telsa Unread
> MissedIt
> YouTube
> Google Maps
> Google Play Music
> Google Voice
> Voice Choice
> WidgetLocker
> Uber
> Transit
> Google Wallet
> Android Wear (paired with my LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE)
> Wearable Widgets
> Zooper Widgets
> Calendar
> Google Clock
> LightFlow
So far I haven't found a single App that doesn't work.
Some Apps, like WidgetLocker & Zooper Widgets have some UI problems due to the size of the screen, but overall, I've had no crashes & have encountered no Apps that don't work.

Has anyone tried Hangout Dialer app? It is not working because of the small screen.
Google Now Launcher works very well --> allows google voice-to-text features to be used with minuum keyboard (which is great even without the voice to text). Spotify, stronglifts 5x5, goal tracker, "Note Pad," dragon mobile assistant, here maps, maps.me, all work well.
The only problem I had with Facebook messenger was using the phone dialer--the screen size prevented me from answering calls (and others seemed to have trouble answering my calls as well). Also, screen size is an issue with goal tracker - I can't select a specific time of day for each entered habit). Google keyboard and swype keyboard were just too big. Minuum is the best I've seen so far.
Netflix works too. Though it doesn't quite fit the screen.
Shake. still works on TS+ allows flick of the wrist to turn on, and run an app, such as showing a watch face etc.
A couple to add:
-Pandora
-Apex Launcher
-Calculator Plus (though it is very tiny...anyone have a simple calculator app that's large and easy to use? Kinda sad one wasn't included)
Also, has anyone found a volume control app that lets you manage media volume? That's the one down side to Pandora right now.
All in One Gestures (as recommended by another user here) works great. Pretty much required IMO, to navigate quickly between apps.
And not that many others here would find it useful (it's pretty aviation specific) but WindAlert works.
compass, car locator not working
Tried intalling car locator. It stated can't access compass. After trying to turn on compass installed compass app. It said it could not access accelerometer or mgnetometer. Is this not what the Bosch BHI160 Sensor Hub Gyroscope / Accelerometer 6-axis used for ? How do you turn it on?

Where are the words I add on my Google Keyboard swype 'stored'

ie is there a way to back them up somehow hard way instead of having them on g oogle's backend/the cloud? essentially where is my user dictionary and where is it stored? If its the google keyboard is it stored on cloud and for other keyboard in my perosnal diciontary somwhere?

Question Cannot search Contacts Notes field?

Hi everyone!
Just got my Nord 2.
In general really satisfied (hope it doesn't explode)!
Anyway, coming from a Huawei I miss the really useful feature of being able to search through your contacts using the Notes field.
This way you do not have to bloat the contact's name or other fields with ugly information. You could just write it down in the Notes field and when you search it, it appears.
Unfortunately, this cannot be done with the Google contacts version embedded in the phone latest firmware v11.3
It is possible on the web version of Google contacts and in other 3rd party Android apps and other phones as well.
I find this feature missing quite annoying.
Has anybody any different experience with this?
UPDATE:
It seems this is a bug with Google Contacts and Phone app with the Greek Alphabet I am using. This is not the case when using Latin alphabet. Everything works normally then.
Also in the Phone app search actually uses the Notes field when written in Greek but ONLY IF it is an EXACT MATCH including capital letters
