Adoptable Storage Problem - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. Im on oos 3.1.1. I formatted the sdcard as internal, however when i try to migrate data, it says not enough space. What can i do about this?

U could try this. http://www.xda-developers.com/enable-adoptable-storage-for-galaxy-s7-and-s7-edge/ I did the same and it works. i dont know with migrate i did this direct after factory reset so i had no data.

@bassbounce Everything will still be stored in internal without migrating data.

Help: cannot mount encrypted internal sdcard after new CM9 nightly installation

Hi,
I might have played with fire, and now I have lost access to the internal sdcard of my Galayx S2 (GT-I9100).
I run a CM9 nightly build (2012-08-06) and decided to encrypt my phone using the built-in Android encryption feature.
Everything went well.
But then I tried update my S2 with a new CM9 Nightly. I did a cache wipe and a data wipe and installed the CM9 Nightly 2012-08-19).
The installation went well, but now I do not have access to my internal sdcard anymore (which should be mounted on /mnt/sdcard or /sdcard).
I tried to mount /mnt/sdcard from the command line and the Recovery but it did not work. And many android apps do not work well or at all if the internal sdcard is not mounted.
Is there a way to remount my encrypted sdcard again, using the PIN or the password I used when I encrypted it ?
And if not, is there a way to destroy this encrypted internal sdcard and reformat it as it was before encryption (but empty of course) ?
Is it possible to clean this mess and restart from scratch with Odin (losing my data but at least the internal sdcard can be mounted again) ?
I would very much appreciate any help to dig me out of this hole

I think I'm in the same position as you. Did you ever get an answer?
NEVER EVER do wipe cache and factory reset if you're updating nightlies!
Now, if I were you, I would try to fix internal memory with Windows tools.
Well, lesson learned.
Unfortunately I had given up on recovering my data on the internal sdcard. Therefore I opted to a method to reformat it.
That did the trick and I got back my internal sdcard (many applications cannot work properly without it).
Maybe I can find the tutorial pages I used if someone is interested.
Anyway, thanks for your reply
I have the same problem as you...
I´ve installed CM10 Codeworx over my encrypted CM9 ROM on Galaxy SII I9100
Jelly Bean runs but i have no internal SD Card... in CWM Recovery i also can not mount internal SD.
Any Ideas???

Factory reset+flash wiped my memory

Hi All,
I did a factory reset today and flashed the stock 4.1.1 Polish ROM via Odin. This process seems to have wiped my files (including photos etc) from my S3 (internal memory, not SD card). I've flashed plenty of ROMS before and this has never happened.
Anyone know if it's possible to get them back? I guess I've installed new apps etc now so a lot of the data would have been overwritten. Frustrating!
Thanks for any tips.

You answered your own question with your first sentence : I did a factory reset...
Unfortunately its not possible to get back the data

Unless you backed up on PC or sd card...
Factory reset in S3 will always wipe internal memory as it shares internal memory for applications.
If you want to restore try some data recovery software that supports SD card.

That would be the only way. There is a very small window to recover data wiped from flash memory and on a phone it would be even more difficult. Maybe a Clockwork backup?
Internal SDcard is mounted on the system partition via Fuse..so if you format the /system partition..sdcard is formatted as well..
Pointers for future..
Use CWM for flashing ROMS..(I hate Odin )
Backup your internal SDcard on your PC regularly
Perform a Nandroid Backup on your ExtSDcard before flashing any ROM.
If you ever need to factory reset..use the wipe data/factory reset option in CWM and not in Stock Recovery
For a clean install, if you want to wipe system partition..use wipe /system option under mount and format in CWM..it just wipes the system files and your SDcard data will be safe..
You will not face such issues if you in the future if you follow these pointers.

[Q] How to decrypt internal storage after installing a new ROM

Hi, got myself into a problem - hope someone can save me here
I had my internal storage encrypted because of some app that required that, anyway I did a full wipe/factory settings and installed the ROM again (4.2.2 Omega).
Now my internal storage is inaccessible at all, I guess due to the encryption.
Is there a way to decrypt the partition and get the files from there?
And how do I make it accessible again?

HELP(about internal storage)

I've been flashing ROMS from a rebranded phone of mine. I noticed that my Internal Storage is getting low everytime I flash a new ROM. The Data/factory reset doesn't work for me. I have CWM. I can't use my phone now. When I open it, all apps are force closing. I can't format my Internal Storage. I need HELP. If someone knows how to FORMAT internal STORAGE via PC, please HELP me :crying:

Restoring data using twrp?

While switching ROMs , can we restore data (internal+sd-ext) from previous ROM using twrp?
Those Who have tried it or having knowledge abt it please share..
Files stored on Internal + External SD has nothing to do with with switching ROMs.
Explanation, while backing up from twrp you get options like system, data, cache and boot.
"Data" here represents application data which includes user apps and their data (data of system apps too).
Example- You downloaded a song from chrome. That song resides on your internal storage but isn't considered as data of chrome (lets say it's external data) , while bookmarks in xhrome is considered as internal data.
So if you're worrying about your songs or photos. Then don't. Just dont wipe your internal storage or external one and everything's safe.
Now about the data partition, it's absolutely fine to restore data only from previous backup of twrp. However it may conflict in the new rom. Suppose you have a data backup of lollipop rom and you're trying to restore it on a marshmallow rom, it'll give you headache a little bit.
None of the VALUABLE application data resides on external storage. (Exceptions are always there like I've seen clash of clans caches in external storage, it's not valuable thats why I've highlighted this word earlier)
Anyway I don't think twrp back up the data stored on external storage (correct me if I'm wrong here).
So you're good to go if you're about to restore data from same version of android. Just restore and see what happens.

With SD-ext, I mean second partition which is used for link2sd or app2sd...restoring that in a same Android version on different ROM..will it create problems?
P.s thank you for your reply..?

Yes twrp won't backup linked data.
I've tried this for once.
Just do data backup from twrp and then restore it in new rom.
Since you won't be wiping your second partition of sd card. Files there won't be harmed. After restoring you'll get it working like in the previous rom.
