Root Huawei M2 7.0 ple-703l
has anyone tried to root a huawei m2 7.0 ple-703l? does the same ple-701 procedure work? suggestions?
thx
i have no idea who developed it, but i could use this TWRP image, twrp-ple-701l-a504v2.img. just try "fastboot boot twrp-ple-701l-a504v2.img" first without flashing it to the device. i recommend you make backups of all the partitions (EFS, system, recovery, boot) before you start rooting or modifying the device.
with this TWRP, you can simply install SuperSU as usual with no hassle.
i have removed unnecessary preinstalled apps such as;
Books
CloudPrint
Drive
GoogleTTS
Hangouts
HwFileManager
HwMediaCenter
HwMirror
HwNotePad
HwPhoneService
HwVPlayer
iWnnIME
iWnnIME_Kbd_Old
LatinIME
Magnifier
Newsstand
OpenWnn
PlusOne
PrintSpooler
talkback
Videos
these are scattered in /system/app, /system/dellapp and /system/priv-app somehow.
and changed "low memory killer" settings as followed;
Foreground app: 72MB > 25MB
Visible app: 90MB > 35MB
Secondary server: 108MB > 55MB
Hidden app: 126MB > 70MB
Content provider: 144MB > 100MB
Empty app: 180MB > 150MB
also changed CPU gov to "Performance" both for big and little, and set min CPU frequency of big at 998Mhz.
after these changes, my T2 7 is really snappy now.
could t2 7.0 pro and t2 10.0 pro using the same twrp to root?
thank you in advance.
peter
redmiuser,
I think you can use 7" twrp version.
I don't have 10", so cannot check, but I successfuly used stock recovery from 10" to boot 7" (vice versa for your situation)
unlock your bootloader and fastboot boot.img, recovery.img and system.img
your phone will be totally clean

Can anyone clarify what the rooting process does? I am very new to the concept of rooting.
I recently picked up the T2 7.0 Pro, Model PLE-701L.
I have no interest in using it as a phone, simple as an E-Reader. I am a bit concerned about messing with it as it came from Taiwan with English google play setup. Not certain if rooting would remove this.
My only real need for it would be google play so I can load Moon Reader Pro, wi-fi support and the fingerprint reader.
It has a ton of bloatware on it, given it only has 16GB of base memory, I will be running into issue soon as Android 5.1.1 (what it currently has) does not support reading EPUB's off a micro SD card. Hopefully through rooting I could clean out the numerous apps that are bogging it down and taking up storage.
Thanks!
Good morning
I recentily bought this tablet, but i cannot unlock the bootloader beacause on the emui web page does not appear the download button where was possible obtain the unlock code. Have a suggestion? Thanks a lot

Hi,
I have the same problem with my eStar Beauty HD Quad Core.
Root Check says the device is rooted.
Busybox Installer fails to install BusyBox v 1.20.2 (and any other version).
SuperSU v2.40 fails to install an update and does not show any apps.
Root External 2 Internal SD app fails to move the apps.
Framaroot does not support the device.
I also tried vRoot, but it just installed a bunch of Chinese software which I later removed.
Please advise. Thanks

I have the estar grand hd 10.1' and before rooting i had the same problem with you. Our problem is that the estar is an ifamous company and the most root apps (for example framaroot) don't have any expoilts for our tablets. The only applicaton to allow permanatelly root access is kingo root.Just download the .exe fle from internet (you need a pc) ,follow a few very easy steps and solve your problem. It works 100%! After root download the supersu app from playstore and you're done. I will suggest to you to download the link2sd app to transfer your apps to sd and the system apps remover to delete all the bloatware.
I think i helped ( if you have a problem, ask me):good:

For my estar grand hd quad core mid1198 not work as any software include kingo Root !
hi guys , i got the estar Beauty HD Quad Core MID7188 i want to change the OS , and download a lighter and faster OS/ROM so this crappy old tablet can run fast and smooth , is there any simple solution for that ?
If you find a Custom Recovery - as TWRP - what is at 100% suitable to the device then you can flash a Custom ROM matching device's specs by means of the Custom Recovery found.
Hello all,
I am newbie to this forum and also newbie to Android.
I recently got myself an ASUS Memo Pad tablet and I want to root it.
I did some searching and reading on the subject and I found some info about
Towelroot, superSU, CPU-Z, root checker, brick, app ops, etc'.
But I did not find any specific information about rooting the ASUS MemoPad 8" 4.4.2 .
Did anybody ever rooted this device ?
Can somebody direct me to a tool that can root this tablet ?
I want to root this tablet for two reasons:
- To enable me to install apps on the microSD card .
- To prevent apps from collecting data.
I would also appreciate it if anybody tell me about other advantages of a rooted Android device.
Here's the info:
ASUS Memo Pad 8"
Model Number: K011
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version date: Friday June 20th 2014
Processor: Intel ATOM
Architecture: X86
4 cores
Any help appreciated.

Well while I don't know how to root your tab, I can answer your other question. There are many benefits, and a couple of drawbacks. With root, you gain full read-write access to your device, which has many uses. For example you can set custom CPU clocks (to increase performance or save battery), you can remove bloatware apps which can also increase performance and save storage. Then there's adfree to block adds, you can get an app for permission management to increase security as well as firewall apps. You can also install UI mods and better customize the tablet to your liking. Finally there's the possibility of a custom recovery and ROMs like CyanogenMod. The downside is that if you fiddle too much and break something the tablet might not boot. And of course there's the problem of giving su access to a malicious app that can steal data, drain battery, slow down the system or just plain make your tablet unbootable. All in all, it's a good thing, just be careful.
Thanks neroTNS.
I guess I'll wait for more answers.

Roots for K011
I know what you mean by rooting. It seems like an impossible task. One good thing about this tab though is once rooted, IT KEEPS ITS ROOT! I rooted mine and 3 updates were done, all updates keeping the root. Asus does have an app called root.apk that you can install. There is also Kingo Root which requires you go into developer mode and turn on USB Debugging. The root.apk is hard to find, but Kingo Root is easy to find and fairly simple to use as long as you have an open USB port on your computer.
Hope that helps.

Neither Towelroot or Kingroot work. Kingo have suggested their app *may* work, but I'm not sure how secure that app is, so haven't tried it. I badly need to root this phone, so I can partition the sd card and use Links2SD. As it stands, I have about 600mb of my "8gb" free, after installing a few apps. I'd like to zap most of the Google apps, and some of the other preinstalled software. Without root, this phone is next to useless if you want to install many, or large, apps.
Im waiting for a root method that works too.
Anyone knows something? :good:

I think unlocking bootloader just allows custom roms to be installed, was a question I asked coz I'm a bit new to this I'm also waiting for root method,
yeah :highfive: and I also think that when you unlock bootloader on your device, it needs to be rooted first
correct me if Im wrong :good:
but hopefully, there will be good news about rooting this coming few days :silly:
From what I've been told and if I'm understanding it right unlocking bootloader and rooting are completely separate, so you should be able achieve either without the need for the other, I'm not sure if this would apply to all device brands but from what I've read seems to be the trend on sony devices, assuming I've interpreted it correctly
so much for that mate all we want now is to have a proper root access for the xperia m4 aqua device
Is anybody working on it at least ?
m4 Aqua - low memory space
This telephone is totally disaster without root access to extend memory with SD card.
I don’t have any recommendation for this telephone for advanced users.
Relax , this phone is available only recently. Allow time for developers to find the solution.
Let me clarify some thing about root and bootloader unlock. Yes we need root to fix the free space problem on the 8GB version using for example links2sd application and memory card. Root can be achieved by two very different ways:
1. By unlocking the bootloader and booting custom kernel with disabled security or recovery which allow supersu to be installed and root achieved. I expect soon m4 aqua to be added to the list of devices which support bootloader unlock (i wrote to sony developers and they told me so) which will allow us to proceed this way. One important consideration here - some phones bought from certain carriers are locked and do not allow bootloader unlock at all. This can be checked by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* - service menu will appear. Go to service info->configuration and check the rooting status. If it says bootloader unlock allowed: yes you are lucky. If it says no you will not be able to unlock the bootloader at all.
2. Using security vulnerability in the current sony firmware allowing installation of supersu enabling root. Up to date no such vulnerability is found. If and when such will be found we can only guess.
About the storage problem - we have one more hope and it is android M (not 5.1 but the next one). It will allow sdcard to be formatted special way and directly added to the internal storage. This way if you put 32GB card and use this functionality of android M your internal storage will increase automatically from 8GB to 40GB. I hope that m4 aqua will get android M eventually but this is not likely to happen before november/december or even later.

Hey guys,
I would like to buy ZenPad Z580CA - 8'' IPS - 64 GB - Wifi and it will be my first Android tablet. Can you tell me if it's "rootable" or not? And if it is, Are there any ROMs available for it?
Anyone guys?
Yes, it is easily rootable. Just follow instructions in "Zenpad S root achieved". You will need a 8gb sdcard in fat2 format to put the chainfire updated su zip file on.
I actually bricked mine already by removing bloat with titanium backup. Fortunately asus provided factory image on their web support site soi was able to restore it with root method above.
The tablet is great after you freeze thd bloatware. I kind of like the asus enhancements. I disabled lock screen and configured wake up when double tapping the black screen, could not do that on my nexus 7.
However i dont like asus launcher so i use nova launcher instead.
mulperi, thanks a lot for the info and the reply, very helpful. I have a question: you said you bricked your tablet when you tried to uninstall Asus apps, should I avoid it and try to freeze the bloatware? The SDcard should be formatted FAT32?
Titanium Backup hung when trying to restore my uninstalled system apps. So my recommendation is to forget titanium and instead use the android built in ordinary application disable. I was able to disable everything i consider bloatware, also many google apps.
Yes avoid disabling/freezing asus apps (color, ui...) and especially asus launcher.
I think the flash tools use an old version of cwm, that can only work with max 8gb sdcard formatted as fat2. At least my other 64gb sdcard was not recognized at all.
Go luck, its a great tablet!
Thanks a lot man for the help and the good advice!
Cheers!
Guys, have you tried to install xposed on it? I'm trying but I've failed so far. I get a message "Xposed int not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 21 or your processor architecture (x68)". Any ideas?
I succeeding in installing xposed-v79-sdk21-x86.zip using temporary cwm recovery. Before rebooting remember to clear cache and dalvik cache. Then install xposedinstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Now it has been a year the tablet is rooted but still nobody has thought to port a new rom. It's a shame, because it is a good tablet but even rooted, Marshmallow sucks and the tablet has a lot of lags. Furthermore, I have been seeing to buy a new tablet, but I realize that the specs of the new ones, are not that different than the specs of this one. So, I'm asking to those great creators of Lineage OS, who ported the Z380 could you please port the Z580CA? thank you in advance
Just thought I would post regarding this box. Not much information on it.
I bought on a whim without realising the one thing I wanted was missing (Bluetooth). However the box has grown on me.
Its powered by the new Allwinner H616 Chip. However its performance sucks. For some reason they have forced CPU to 1.4GHz all the time. No point in my opinion, it just causes it to heat up for no reason.
Anyways, it comes fully rooted. I did try and install SuperSU, ended up killing root. So I reflashed it using usb flasher. There is also a new firmware update, which shows when doing wireless update.
Firmware released is 10.1.12, update takes it up to 10.1.14. So I did update and then factory reset to start fresh. The only problem is, rom is such a mess. App folders every where and system is filled to 100%. I deleted bloat in /system/pre-install folder.
I stopped rooting stuff years ago, so Magisk is newish to me. I thought I would try Magisk manager. Worked great, was able to install Magisk. From then on all root apps worked as I was able to set root access, which is something I could not do before. I also installed kernel auditor and set read ahead on and tweaked the build.prop. This helped speed it up, now stuff like Emulators no longer jerk and stutter.
One downside, Prime video does not work, you have to use Amazon Video (which is their browser alternative).
So hope this helps anyone with the same box.
Can you specify what changes did you to make it run faster? Were you able replace/disable Alice ux?

I did a test forcing to uninstall ALICE UX but the TX6s didn't boot anymore.

[TX6s] Android TV Box - Alice UX - Launcher Change Help?
I tried magisk manager, loaded on an old version sitting on a memory card and updated it, then I flashed 20.4 magisk with it and both are showing as installed and up-to-date. I still haven't seen any root dialogue and magiskSU is blank. so... do I have 2 root solutions on my device at the same time, one system pre-installed and one systemless ?
EDIT: turning off the root switch and rebooting allowed magisk to pick up the remaining root apps that had superSU through the built-in root. it also allowed adaway to finally install systemless hosts.
turn off root if you flashed magisk via magisk manager don't be a numbskull like me.
I'd be happier if I had TWRP onboard, is there a way to achieve this currently ?

installing titanium from the playstore I was able to freeze the stock ATV YouTube app and replace it with YouTube Vanced 14.21.54 (no more adverts, but tricky navigation) so if Alice is the launchers name freezing that should work with titanium. I watched a video review and using other android TV launchers, works just fine.
I know this is an old thread, but can anyone assist with the TWRP recovery .IMG for the above box or for the H40 Allwinner H616 box..
I need it to temporarily boot into recovery to flash magisk but can't seem to find it anywhere.
PS I have the ZIP but do not want to permanently flash it....
use Magisk Manager to install Magisk, the box is already rooted so this can work.
AFAIK there is no TWRP for this device, nor any roms. we'd need to be passing around a collection plate for donations to a Dev before we were likely to see anything.

check settings / device preferences / about /... see if you have an option called root switch which must toggle root access on and off.
It doesn't. But thanks. I have been able to patch my bootloader to install Magisk
has anyone here tried Edxposed and can report that it works OK ?
I don't have a PC to reflash the device if it goes wrong but I need to get minmin guard onboard as I passionately hate intrusive ads.
if you do have it working which version of Rirucore did you use ?
DON'T USE EDXPOSED both YAHFA and SandHook latest versions lead to a soft brick!
YAHFA let's you get a lot further into the process, but activating 3 modules was enough to ''corrupt'' the rom.
now it's either factory reset or try removing files via ADB on a borrowed laptop. I've suffered so that you don't have to. God I miss TWRP.
Hi!
I tried flash T95's firmware (because of root) i Transpeed h616 (no root), has same device-specification, but It doesn't boot.
Do you know why? Shall I unlock boot-loader first? If yes then fastboot oem unlock works?
Thanks
